  1. I'm so sorry to hear what is going on with your friend. It's sad that she can't be there for your special day but it's good to hear that she is getting the help she needs.
  2. I agree. I love this place. EVERYONE has been so nice and helpful. I have posted on another site too and didn't feel too comfortable so I just Lurk over there. I tend to participate more on this site. Only bad thing is that I can spend hours on here and I get so many ideas that i get carried away with the planning. But all the stuff is great. It's definately wonderful to meet new people and get ideas.
  3. Don't let the reviews stress you out. I've done the same thing- checked recent reviews for my resort but it doesn't make any sense at this point. You can't please everyone. I've been to some hotels/ resorts that got some good and bad reviews and I didn't think the places were awful. Everyone has their own opinion, some people will never be happy and complain about about every little thing.
  4. Hello Fellow July 2010 Brides! Happy New Year. How's the planning coming along??

So far we've chosen our main colors as turquoise and white. I will decide on the secondary color when we order the MOH's dress.( I'm leaning towards a clover green or coral).
  6. whew, I'm so happy to hear that you're having a similar issue! Since day one I've been having an issue deciding on my colors. Why is something that should be so simple made so difficult for us brides? There's so much to think about. FI sometimes looks at me like I'm crazed when I tell him I'm stressing over colors, florals, cakes, etc. Before you make your decision I think you should think about the OVERALL wedding, like what colors you will have for flowers, BM dresses and other decor to see if you can tie them all together. Good Luck!
  7. Good luck on your upcoming wedding!
  8. Congratulations Mrs., what Wonderful review! I'm so glad that it all turned out well.

I'm sure I'll hear from some people after the New Year. Good thing is that we put a hold on 10 rooms so there is some more time to book.

The beaches in Aruba are public and from what I was told you can't get a permit to have a private wedding. I have seen some pics of weddings on secluded beaches( minus resort guests in their speedos... lol), but I don't know of the location- one place may be Eagle beach?. The Rennaissance has a private island and is a great place to host such an event.
  20. I understand! I'm already an overpacker when going away for the weekend, much less for a week in the Caribbean! I really wanted to do oot bags but it will be one of the first things cut if we have a large number of guests. The luggage requirements have changed and on most if not all airlines you now have to pay to bring a second suitcase. I have to pack regular clothes plus all the wedding stuff, that's a lot! SO I will limit what I bring. Since you're getting married in JA maybe you can get only a few items for your oot bag on the island or just get nicer favors. If I cut out the oot bags I will give guests a gift bag at the end of the wedding night instead which will include a few items from the island( things like a small bottle of rum, small souvenir, and some local candy). This way it will save on bringing all of the stuff with you and the guests will get local items- things they can't get in the US.
