Everything is going to be outside so I sure hope it's not too hot at that time in evening.
  9. Classadiva: How exciting that you are doing a site visit! I wanted to do one also but FI and I decided against it. We're taking our chances since we ( and most of our guests) have never been to Aruba. I'm still in the holiday mood and haven't really done much recently. There are six months left to go so I need to get busy again because July will be here before we all know it!
  10. This is one hard thing about having a DW. I remember waiting some time before getting my inquiries answered when I was looking at different resorts. Some resorts never even responded(10 months later)! My WC is great and usually takes no more than a few days to respond. They're so busy and probably get so many emails. Once I chose my resort it was easier because I was given the WC's direct email.
  11. Congrats to a beautiful couple! Your pics are absolutely amazing. Elizabeth has such wonderful talent. You did a great job putting all the small details together. How did you do it all?
  12. We were engaged February 2009 and we're getting married July 2010 so that's about an engagement period of 1.5 years. Time flies by so fast. You can at least start to research locations and think about your budget, guestlist( one of the hardest things I had to do),and overall how you want your special day to be. Good luck!!
  13. We sent out our STD's 11-12 months before the wedding then created a website and sent travel info. I plan to send out formal invites in the beginning of March ( 4 months before).
  14. Try not to stress over it. Unfortunately, you probably won't know the final count until right before you leave. We are getting married in six months and only a few people have booked but when they're ready they will. Some are looking for better deals... hope they don't wait too long and have to pay much more $$.
  15. Congrats and Welcome! It may take some persuading your family if you want a DW. All in all, remember it's about you and your fiance. I'm getting married this July in Aruba, it's a beautiful island with great options for a wedding.
  16. You mentioned most of the places I was going to recommend. There's nothing wrong with going back to one place more than once. I went to RK but was sooo overwhelmed. Since they have a wide selection of what you're looking for maybe you should give them another try. You may also have to widen your search to places like Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens, New Jersey, Westchester County. Don't worry you'll find something!
  17. Good luck with finding the dress. I spent my whole summer looking for the right one and eventually found it on my third trip to David's Bridal. Don't worry, the right dress is out there, don't settle! Keep looking so that you can see what looks good on you and what you like. I know you're in NYC, have you checked out Kleinfields? I've never been there but they're having a huge blowout sale on Monday 1/18. What other places have you been to?
  18. Beautiful dress, it fits you well! Best wishes on your upcoming wedding.
  19. I agree, high quality hair is the best. Maybe you can get a wet and wavy weave. One that you can straighten for the wedding and then after you can get it wet and it will still look good. I don't know about you all but I don't plan on getting my hair wet until after the wedding. I'm not taking any chances! lol

I stopped in a week or so ago and they had a decent selection and some reasonable prices. I tried Macy's and saw some nice dresses. I fell in love with a Demitrous dress but it cost $3000- way over my budget. But you should definately go see what they have. They have a range of dresses depending on your price range.
  21. My time will be here before you know it and I haven't decided what I want to do with my hair. I will either get a few tracks of hair or small invisible braids and have the stylist put some curls in it. Then pin it up or back into a chignon.
  22. For those in the area still looking for their dress, Kleinfield's is having a MLK sample sale and trunk show on January 15. Check it out! Appointments slots will likely be filled quickly.
  23. Don't let it get to you. I agree, take the higher road and send them the invites whether they say they will come or not. Don't stress over those who don't come. Enjoy your time with those who are able to make it. It's about you and hubby. Even if people can't make it or don't come they should be respectful of your wishes and keep their opinions to themselves.
