martini : James Bond - shaken not stirred!
-
Congrats and welcome. I have to agree with Karla. I think she is on the money. My FI had an issue with Mexico and nothing I said could sway him. We choose Cuba because of several reasons. The country is beautiful. The people very hospitable. The beaches amazing. And there are lots of things to see and do. But the ptimary concern for us was cost. We did not feel comfortable asking friends and pamily to spend alot of money. We struggled to find a location that was both nice and classy enough. We are happy with our decision, and get more incouraged with each couple that comes home and raves. Have a chat with FI and have him explain why he thinks it would not be classy at these resorts. I think that I can speak for all of us when I say we did not or will not compromise on class. The destinations your FI is suggesting are very expensive alternatives. All the locations are beautiful, but costly. You should also look at legalities because each country has different requirements, that will cost you different amounts. Good Luck, happy planning.

I am so sorry to hear you are feeling like this, and can empathize completely. We all have our good and bad days. Sometimes it helps to tell someone about just to unload. Other times someone else can give you a different perception or point of view. If you feel the need to unload, know we are all here for you. Hopefully tomorrow will be a much better day.

I am bring a Thank-you package for my WC. Included in it will be for things for her, her husband, and her daughter. I asked about her family and wanted to bring something to thank her for all the work and help she will be. I will give her this when I arrive. If I am really impressed with the service there after I will also give her a cash tip. -

Congrats. I am sure that she will have a better time with you. I know I would have done the same thing. I think that both have you have shown what wonderful people you are. You by being so concerned for her happiness and her for being mature enough to know that your weddin in a once in alifetime opportunity.

I think how much you spend is a person preference and budget consideration. When I originally went out to look I started with a budget of $1000 - $1200. But after seeing what was to be found I was hard pressed to pay more than $500. After much searching. I found me dress, a maggie that was in the stroe for $1285, but I got it online for $200 on sale !!!! I feel really good when i get what i want at a pric I like! So my best advice is don't rush into anything. If you love a dress it will haunt you. You will see it more than once. Do lots of research, after all weddings are big business for a reason.

Hi everybody. I am going to Varadero with a wide range of ages. 18 months to 73 years old. I wanted to plan an excursion for evryone to enjoy. We will be hoping to rent a tour bus to take us to Havana for a day. But I was thinks of doing something else too. And am at a loss as to what to suggest. I have heard the Catamran is great, but other than that are there any ther eco type tours that anybody could suggest? I don't expect everyone we are traveling with to go but I want to interest most. There are two that I was looking at, but am unsure of which is better. If anybody out there has tried these could you please tell about them or any others that might be of interest. We have no issues with renting a vehicle to take ourselves. This excursion is planned for the first week. The Cuban Safari....ride a jeep thru jungle and go snokeling in a cave, horseback riding. The snorkelling adventure.... snokel in different location Cayo Blanco... Catamaran, snorkeling, dolphin show We are planning on doing our own version of the Rambo Tour. So we will be driving to Guanayara National Park, Trinidad, Cienfuegos, and Santa Clara before returning to Varadero. ( For this we will rent vehicle and probably be gone 2 or 3 days). This excursion is planned for people who are staying the second week.

Morning wedding
itsfinallyhere replied to trance_angelx0x's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
I think that i too would check out how much time you have to be in the country for the marriage to be legal. I also think that having the wedding in the morning with the reception at night would be too much time in between the ceremony and reception. I think I would also be concerned about location and how busy that location is at that time of the day. You also have to think of what your guest would do in between. Do they really want to get ready for the wedding twice? Do you really want to take up their whole day. Most of it with waiting around? If you do have a morning wedding, maybe check into having an earlier reception. I personally perfer the later time as I don't want to be rushed in any way and don't want to have to get up at the crack of dawn to get ready. I want a long and liesurally day so that I can enjoy as much of it as I can. But thats just me!?! And prolong it as much as I can. LOL -
I am a mom and have breastfeed two children. I have to say I do not feel like breastfeeding your child should be allowed to expose themselves in public. I am by no means saying they should not do it, but do it discreetly. Not everybody has to know and see what is going on. I always used a cover (blankie), but when my of my boys was too big and wiggle I always seemed to be able to find a quite corner to help him out. These babies are entitled to eat, but other people are also allowed to go shopping with their children without having to explain why it is ok for these women to expose themselves. And then there is the extreme... when you have children who are old enough to help themselves and do! I they are able to self-serve they should be on a bottle or sippy cup. I never found it an issue to to breastfeed and use a bottle. I have a sneeky suspision that these people are secret exhibitionists!!! LOL

Need support- both Grandparents in hospital
itsfinallyhere replied to DarcyJAde's topic in Just venting or funnies
I am so sorry that you and your family have to go thru something like this. At any time it would be bad enough but to have to deal with the added stress at a time like this is even worse. I am glad that your Grandma is on the road to recovery. I sincerely hope all goes well with your Grandpa. I know that all the ladies on this forum will be keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Know we are all wishing you guys the best and hopes that your Grandpa has a successful surgery and speedy recovery. Good luck and all the best. -
Oh girls you do not know what a treat you are in for. I too was very nervous before my BD shoot, but let me tell you. I had the time of my life. Yes I felt like a total imposture try to be "sexy" because that is the last thing I feel I am!,,But wow girls I have to tell you I have never done anything as empowering as this. When I got to view my pics. I could not believe the chick in the pic was me. I LOVED them. And Kathy the girl I worked with was amazing. She talked me thru it and was even gracious enough to do another session when I wanted to change some of the outfits. She did this at not extra cost. And that second session, well it was more riskay than the first. My FI is going to die when he sees them but keeping them from him is the hardest part. My sister is keeping and bringing the book for me! Good Luck Girls. Have fun with it. It is one of the best experiences I yhink you will have. My Bd photographer was Kathy at Honeybourne Intimates.

No Cuba does not stamp passports. When we went I was really disappointed that I didn't get mine stamped and had to pass it back and request that she stamp it. She told me they usually don't do that. I told her It was a new passport and I was dying to get a stamp placed in it! Laughing she did it for me and my son no problem! My FI and other son went to another agnet and she did not stamp theirs.
