Around the square you will be seeing the famous Chamber of the Commerce of Havana, The Saint Francis de Assísi church, and the Lions Fountain. Capitol Building: Building that resembles the Congress in US, but located in the heart of Old Havana. Former seat of the House of Representatives, today, holds the 3 largest indoor statues of the world and a diamond on the floor marks the Number Zero,and the start of the National Highway. All distances in Cuba are measured from this point. A stop at the Artisan Market for browsing and the opportunity to buy original arts and craft souvenirs . Hi ladies. Well, I continue to wait and have now been told that they are trying to go thru the military to get more information. How this will help I am not sure. My wonderful hubby and I have discussed it and we will do what msglave has suggested (great idea, thank-you). Niagara falls here we come!!! It will either be to "renew" our vows or celebrate our one year anniversary!!!! So I may very well be back on here on a regular basis to plan our "elopement"!!!!! Sometimes I wish life were slightly less interesting!!!! Boring can be very good!

Hi Ladies, Thank-you all but as disappointed as I am I am sure the girls on the list are that much more disappointed. I really do hope he turns up and continues to felt passed on. I know things can be as crazy before as they are after with the weddings and AHR. So hopefully he will turn up and sooner rather than later. We can only hope. Ladies I thought I would give you an update. Unfortunately I have gotten no where and I am still waiting. I did call the everyone and anyone I could think of even the Cuban embassy here, but to no avail. All I am able to do it wait. I find this very difficult to deal with. I have been dealing with depression for that last two and a half years and this is definitely not helping. Somedays are easier and others well. Thank God that they eventually do end. I am hoping that it is found and delivered before our 1st anniversary! I am at a loss. I am sorry ladies I wish I had better news.

Ladies it is with deep regret that I have to inform you that my little blue starfish seems to have gone MIA. The last person to have had him is JenB. Both Janelley 100 and I have tried to reach her and request that the starfish be forwarded. However neither of us was able to reach her. DestCabo10 you can continue to try to reach her. But as of right now I have no idea what has happened to him. I am sorry ladies I had hoped to get my little book filled with wonderful stories, for me to read upon it;s return. It is a shame that the travels of my little guy has been cut short. Hopefully he will magically be found and returned to circulation. If possible I wold love to have him returned to me. Hey ladies, I am unsure of how to start. This has been very frustrating for me. I had planned my wedding last year. It was suppose to be on November 16th. I have since received nothing in way of any documentation. I have nothing to show that I have gotten married. I have contacted the wedding co-ordinator on many occasions, and all she has said is to be patience. That mine has gotten lost but that they are looking for it. She has also suggested that I contact someone here that may help me. But who do I contact here in Ontario? Since this last suggestions she is not responding to my emails. I am at a loss. I feel miserable, like my wedding was a complete joke as I have no way of showing that it was or is legal. I am basically no better off now than I was then. I am angry because it looks like I have to spend more money to do this again. And of course I will have to do it on the sly because i am embarrassed to tell people what happened. I have even sent an email to the notary's office (that performed the ceremony) with no response. What should I do? I have tried to contact the resort head office with no luck either. What would you do? I cannot seem to get over this.

yes, yes, yes. I was unable to even go on the forum because I missed so much. And time flew by while we were there. It did not feel like there was enough time to relax. I hated being home again.

I have not been in October but I hear it is very warm. Yes it is hurricane season, but those are acts of god that have no rhyme or reason. I got married in November and the temperatures were wonderful. Mind you they did have a hurricane pass the island three days before we arrived. The temperatures that they are experiencing between January and March this year are freak lows. The Cuban have been hitting record lows all winter long. So who is to say what you will have. I went last year in February and it was warm, but the nights were cool. I highly recommend Cuba regardless of the time of year or the temperature. The country is beautiful and the people are most hospitable.

I too have a friend who does private tours. She is a little cheaper. She also showed us both the old and new Havana. And took us to this amazing cafe/restaurant we never would have found by ourselves. She picked us up at the resort at 9:00 a.m. and we were back at the resort by 10:00p.m. We set the time to be picked up, so she is as flexible as you need. If you are interested I send me an email and I will forward her email address to you. She will probably find out what you want to see and customize the tour for you. That's what she did for us. She speaks english, french, and german.

Look into the Sirenis La Salina. I know they offer packages from the UK and they have plenty of space for children. It is located in Varadero Cuba. We had ours there and loved it.
