Marrying a Dominican
khomac replied to rubialoca's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Ya, ours will be about a year after the wedding as well (hopefully!). Doesn't help that my stupid resort took 3 months after the certificate was issued to MAIL IT TO ME! I could have had it the first 2 weeks in December, instead I got it March 4th! I'm praying that we don't have any problems during the process. Fingers crossed! -
Marrying a Dominican
khomac replied to rubialoca's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Welcome Luciel! I just sent our application away on March 4th for his permanent resident visa to come to Canada. Haven't heard anything back from them as to whether they've started the process or not though -
Luggage checked arriving in Punta Cana

I had brought tons of t-shirts for my Dominican Family. All had tags on (so I could have been bringing it there to sell, which is what they are looking for), but they had no problems. The opened all suitcases, flipped through my things nicely, seen my husband waiting for me, and sent me on my way. I don't believe you'll have anything taken away. They never asked me for my receipts. When they see your dress, they'll know you're telling the truth. I've gone 3 times with lots of suitcases (gifts for family), and each time, they have asked me where I was going or the purpose of my trip, and if I was travelling alone. You'll be fine! Don't stress! If you get searched upon arrival, just smile! -

When you sign up, you get emails everyday. You have to click the links in the emails, to be eligible for the free things they offer. If you just go to vistaprint.com, those specials (posted in your email), won't appear. It has to be by the link in the email. Hope this helps! Maybe other brides had different experiences. The only thing I paid for was $7.49 for my "Team Homac" shirts. I wanted that design and they never went below half price.

You can still hang out in the regular pool, at the beach, in the restaurants.

But thank you! It means a lot to me

2 Weeks til my wedding! OMG
khomac replied to semiya83's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
I forgot my veil at home when I got married! HA! Luckily the co-ordinator had one that matched perfectly! And I forgot all my inspiration pics (cake, centerpieces, hair) In the end it turned out great though! -

I'm jealous I totally wish I would have gone this route!

So i'm just a little confused with pricing now. If you could clarify for me i'd really appreciate it .[sandra de la Cruz] Of course it will be a pleasure to clarify it, I see there has been a lot of confusion but please make sure to understand except for the outside photographers policy, that is also a business expense for them, not for our couples, there is nothing that is going to affect negatively to weddings, we just have added a new option of renting the parrots bar or wet bar (as well as it was offered since we opened at the sports bar or disco) for US$500.00 per hour including set up, national drinks and sound system. You can go with this option or keep the other one of US$300.00 to rent it and add what you prefer about drinks, music, etc. NOTE GUYS! She said $500 per hour -
Outback Safari Excursion
khomac replied to yanettg's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Definitely LOVED the Outback Safari. In Jan 08 we went to a school, local area to see all kinds of local plants, fruits, etc, seen a pretend cockfight (no animals were harmed), went to a local house and got coffee, went to an area where we saw how they made candy and got to sample all fresh cut fruits, and then finally went to the river for food and relaxation. It was so informative and I loved every minute of it! -
