Pastor York??? Anyone use his services?

He helped make our day special. I'm just wondering about the whole legal side of things. Is he legit? How long does it take to get your certificate? I remember a few years ago there was and "judge" who was performing ceremonies, but never registered them, and therefore the couples weren't actually married. Thoughts anyone? -

I thought it depended on the season. In January, I paid $2000 from Thunder Bay to the Colonial. This March ('09), I booked & paid for my AI to the Colonial. It was for a weeks stay in October and I only paid $1323!!!! I was totally pumped! I thought that because it was October, it was cheaper. Well, now in May, I search again, and I see the price is up to $2000 for the exact same week. I think it depends on when you book, whether or not you are doing a group rate, and maybe the dates that you are trying to book. I researched through www.westjetvacations.com myself, and when I went to the TA, she quoted me the exact same price and says that she searched the same way I had. Prices fluctuate, but I don't imagine it will go higher than the $2000pp. Good luck planning, and hopefully you get the best rate!!

I'm having my wedding at the Majestic, with kids. We are eating in the steakhouse (NO EXTRA COST YAY!). the steakhouse it not completely private, but they do block off a section for you and the other hotel guests don't sit near you. Is this the restaurant that you are talking about that doesn't allow kids? There are 5 sit down restaurants, and the buffet. I believe you can have your reception dinner at any of these restaurants. Let me know if this is not the case. Good luck!

I mean, come on, who needs a serving dish sized bowl, full of pasta! Montana's is brutal for that. And these portion sizes are attributing to obesity! People dont know what a serving size is anymore (I CONFESS I'M GUILTY OF THIS ) Even an ordinary household plate has gotten bigger. Look at a plate from your grandmothers cupboard, then compare it to something more recent. It's brutal! And I confess that when a big huge honkin' size bowl of pasta from Montana's is infront of me, I want to eat it all because it's just not as good the next day and can't imagine throwing out half my food

Thanks for bringing this thread back to life! I will have a pre-travel party a week before we leave. Everyone is travelling from my home town so this way I can give the bags to them in advance. I figure this way I don't have to buy expensive things like mugs, beach bags, etc, and instead can remind them that they have one week to purchase these things. I can give them tips and ideas at this party and prepare them for the trip instead of supplying everything for them. So far in my kit I put: Hand sanitizer Packs of Kleenex 2 Pens Luggage Tags Playing Cards or Soduko Book Hand Cream Mini First Aid Kit Hibiscus coin purses (Oriental Trading Co.) Information Booklet (If you want a copy, PM me) Personalized thank you card Aloe - Is this a cream? A liquid? Where did you buy it?

Thanks for the post! What items did you include that weren't used? anything? I have great resources on where to pick things up but I love this thread because it lets you now what was good & bad based on previous brides experiences! Thanks again! I ordered them from Oriental Trading Company: Some Antibacterial lotion from Bath and Body Works (pocket sized): So I would say for our guests, the simple, more practical things were more of a hit.

I am an independent consultant for Passion Parties, and I know thousands of consultants use Vista for their business. I have uploaded photo's which turned out amazing, I have never been "scammed", and have always had incredibly fast delivery. Vista is fine. Just don't click on any advertisements, make sure you are on a Vistaprint site when you submit your information and that you didn't accidentally click on another link and get re-routed to something else. As for other print shops, look around your local community! I got 50 invitations printed for $14 in colour. I got to design them the way I wanted and they turned out beautifully. Get out there and look for the best deals!

Keep your chin up. Alot of us feel your pain. My other confession: I'm addicted to this site and it makes me stay up way past my bedtime.

I used a corner cutter for the outsides but had to use scissors for the inner part. The left side of the template didn't really match with a corner punch but I didn't care. So the left part isn't perfect when you see it in person. I did the formatting through Word, then brought it to a local printer shop. If you print them yourself, make sure you use GLOSSY PAPER! This will give you the most vibrant colour. I just used a basic 25lb paper. You could go with something like 90lb gloss and make it more stiff, but I was on a budget. I printed 45 invitation sets and it cost me $14 plus all my time. I have friends who carry them in their purse and show them to people lol THANK YOU ALL for your comments. I had a bad day and you all made me smile

Must-Haves vs. Don't Cares
khomac replied to Danyelle's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Must Have: Mom, Dad, Brother by my side Relaxed frame of mind Father to be speechless Fiance smiling at the end of the aisle Michael Steingard Photography (AMAZING!) Don't Care: everything else Undecided: bringing a few centerpieces plain affordable dress vs. slightly beaded little more expensive dress with a train -
Okay, I know nothing about embossing and when you were describing it, I thought, "awe! Poor girl!" However, I just looked at them, and WOW!! I think they look beautiful! Like I said, I know nothing about it, but I don't see any mistakes. I made my own invites as well, and I felt the same as you and found all the imperfections. However, my guests are carrying them around in the purses so that they can show their friends!!

1. I'm scared of my depression. 2. I'm scared my FI (who is from the Dominican, and who I haven't actually spent much time with), won't like living here in Canada. 3. I'm scared that he won't understand my depression and that maybe we won't be all that happy together. 4. I'm angry at myself. I have an aunt who is racist and refuses to talk to me because of the man I'm marrying. I'm angry that I care about how she feels but she doesn't care how I feel. 5. Even though I told everyone I understand if they can't attend my DW, I'm sad that more people aren't attending.

Did you buy your FI's ring online?
khomac replied to Nurse2005's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I love rings but can't justify spending thousands of dollars on diamonds. Plus I'm also affraid of loosing it. My aunt buys Diamonelle and loves it. It's from the shopping channel (Canadian), They are cubic zarconia's but they look just like the real thing. I got a 5 stone ring, equivalent to 2 1/5 carats and flawless, and paid $290 after taxes. It's beautiful, When I wear it out, people can't tell the difference. When I told a friend it was fake, she didn't believe me lol -
Something you wish you would have packed?
khomac replied to JessicaM's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I'd bring a little bit of laundry detergent. Refreshes your clothes if you want to wear them more than twice. I found that at the Majestic Colonial, there were no faceclothes. If you asked for some, they took them away again the next day for the laundry and you had to ask again. -
I'll definately be using some of those ideas! Thanks for sharing!
