I confess that I'm nervouse about my shower that my MOH is planning, and this is stressing me out more than the actual DW! I'm such a simple person and don't want elaborate things (catered dinner?!). I've been on my own for 10 years, and in this house for 5 and have absolutely everything I need! I don't want gifts, and I especially don't want to sit infront of everyone opening gifts for an hour. I also don't want to play any of those corny games. If I could plan it my way, I'd have a BBQ! This way, I could socialize more with my friends and family. Anyone else feel the same way about showers? I hope my MOH takes into consideration everything I want and don't want?!

I already made my fuschia bouquet. They are stargazer lillies with white calla lillies. But this summer has really brought out a lot of nice things that are turquoise so I would love to incorporate that into my wedding too. I was looking for a fuschia metal pail for the flower girl, but could only find turquoise.

Dominican: I brought an extra large suitcase and had it filled with clothes and gifts for my fiance's family. There was about 30 dollar store items, and about 40 shirts/shorts with tags still on them. My fiance hired a man to help me carrying the 2 stuffed suitcases, and the man brought me through to the guys to search the suitcases. I noticed that all the other people on the flight didn't hire a man to carry the bags, and they just walked right around the corner to the kiosks. When you fly into Punta Cana, after retrieving your suitcases, you are not "forced" to even go PAST a guard who searches. This guy just flipped through the clothes, never inspected anything in great detail and never asked for my receipts. Never opened my makeup bag, or any other bags that I had in there. I didn't have any of the medications you guys are talking about. Hope this helps a little. But I'm not worried. I'm just not going to let anyone help me. The guys in my family can carry my extra suitcases that are not on wheels, and I'm sure I'll be fine (fingers crossed)

I'm glad everything is going good for you. You are so lucky to have a man who is willing to talk! lol That's awesome! In my opinion, it's like an emotional cheat. My father started spending lots of time with a neighbour and while I don't believe for one second that they had an affair, it was still painful to my mom because he was comminicating more with this other woman than his own wife. It sounds like Colin is a great man and he obviously loves you to death if he's willing to talk with you and work things out right away. I hope that my marriage will be like that You're an inspiration!

Oh Mel! I'm so sorry to hear about the problems. The weather can play a huge role in the outcome of the wedding. Everyone has a specific idea of what they want when they go away, but we don't ever take into consideration "what if it rains". When my friend got married, they didn't get breakfast in bed either. For their "romantic dinner on the beach" (which was set up beautifully), they were escorted down to the table, napkins placed in their laps, & wine was opened for them. They felt special. The waiter left and they ate some buns. Then a few minutes later they were told to leave because it was supposed to be a set up for someone else. Sandra was supposed to arrange everything, but it didn't happen. They were sent to Tres Cabrales (and they hate seafood), and didn't get to chose what they wanted to eat. I've been thinking of you and your wedding! I hope that you will be able to put the sad parts behind you and just remember the rest of the awesome week that you had there.
