  1. In lieu of a rehearsal dinner, we hosted a sunset cruise of Montego Bay from 5-7pm open for all of our guests (nearly 70 people from age 3-74!). We booked the cruise on a 52' catamaran with Freestyle Sailing and it was WONDERFUL! Denise Taylor was our coordinator and she could not have been any nicer and more helpful. We paid $40 pp (including tax- kids under 12 were free!) which covered RT shuttles from our hotel, the two-hour cruise, open bar and snorkeling lessons! For an extra few dollars per person, Denise supplied a bunch of yummy Jamaican appetizers including jerk chicken, beef patties etc. The staff on board was AWESOME-- we had five certified snorkeling instructors and a bar staff. It really was an experience of a lifetime for all of our guests... I'd highly recommend it to any Jamaican brides! Denise Taylor: [email protected] Boarding the boat: Kids learning to snorkel (the boat towed a trampoline so kids and adults could ease into snorkeling-- awesome!):
  2. We did OOT bags in each room, plus cigars for guys and 'dancing shoes' for the ladies at the reception (fuchsia Old Navy flip flops wrapped in green ribbon -- my MOH made the sign)
  3. Hi Jen-- The logo was pulled from our wedding invites (passport style by Etsy seller Beyond Design). Ginger, the owner, was wonderful to work with and happily sent me a jpeg version so I could use it on our letter and other items
  4. My vote is for #3... it hugs your body perfectly and looks absolutely gorgeous! #1 would be my second choice.
  5. Thanks for posting the link! We got married at the end of July and still don't have ours... so frustrating!!

  7. Thought I'd pass along an inexpensive idea for your "something blue"... I found these blue sparkly stickers in the scrapbooking aisle of Target for $2.99 and put our wedding date on one shoe and initials on the other.
  8. We did the escort cards with 3" white pencil finger starfish (see attached pic)... ordered them from ebay seller Wagners Southern Store (link: eBay Store ? Wagners Southern Store: Search results for.) price ended up being around .50 per starfish. They were a huge hit with our guests, I'm sure yours will love them too
  9. When we went for a site visit to our resort (Hilton Rose Hall Resort in Montego Bay) a few months before our wedding, the coordinator showed us a book of cake examples included with our package-- lets just say we were less than impressed with the totally 80's looking designs! So we decided to order a plain white two-tier cake for our 70 guests and bring our own sugar flowers down to Jamaica. Our colors were pink and green, so we ordered two large fuchsia tiger lilies from www.sugarflowershop.com (believe they were around $15-20 a piece and the owner, Amy, is wonderful to work with), green orchids seen here: WholesaleSugarFlowers.com - Detail (only $9.99 for 9 flowers!) and white lilies seen here: WholesaleSugarFlowers.com - Detail (same deal- $9.99). I also ordered some dusting powder for $2.99 ea. in pearl and green to give the orchids and lillies a sparkley wash WholesaleSugarFlowers.com - Detail My mom transported the sugar flowers for us-- was able to bring them on board with no problem. She snuck away for a few minutes during the cocktail reception to arrange the sugar flowers on the cake and it turned out beautiful (see attached pic)! Since the two-tier cake was included with our package, we wound up spending around $60 total for a pretty cake that was exactly how I envisioned :-) Hope this helps a few brides out there!
  10. Glad to help you guys! Love3- We got married at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort in Montego... it was fantastic! Beachbum- I had planned on using VistaPrint, but ended up just running them on my printer at home due to some last minute changes.
  11. The fans are very cute! For some reason the program was probably my least favorite part about the whole planning process... mostly due to me overanalyzing the proper verbiage, format etc! I had planned on attaching programs to palm leaf fans, but ended up scrapping them at the last minute. We had a simple ceremony so there wasn't much to say, plus I figured with most guests arriving 2-3 days before the wedding, everyone would already know the bridal party. So we just ended up doing the fans wrapped in ribbon for each chair. Saved a few bucks (and my sanity) in the process and I don't think anyone missed them. Programs are a nice touch, but I wouldn't call them a necessity. Just wanted to throw that option out there too
  12. Now that the wedding is behind us, I'm finally getting around to posting a bunch of items including our amazing passport invites from etsy seller beyonddesign beyonddesign on Etsy - Life is too short to be ordinary. I can't begin to tell you how many compliments we received on them-- every single guest went out of their way to say how cool they were! PDFs don't them justice (they are a bit blurry), as they were printed on a stunning pearl shimmer stock that was just perfect. The shop's owner, Ginger, was an absolute pleasure to work with and loves customizing designs to fit your taste. Best part is that they were VERY reasonably priced! 13. I found these adorable address labels on etsy.com (my favorite site!) from seller BellyTickles-- perfect for invitations, STDs or thank yous! Etsy :: WRITE YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS IN THE SAND-- glossy 2 inch round stickers 2 sheets quantity of 40
  14. Just thought I'd share our welcome letter template in case it helps other brides out there! Attachment 4023 welcome letter_public.pdf
  15. Here is a directory of Coach outlets (I got mine in St. Augustine, FL): Coach :: Coach Factory Stores PS-- To the Canada girls, looks like there's one in Niagara Falls and Lasalle!
  16. After contemplating for months the perfect gift for my bridesmaids, I stumbled upon this great find at the Coach outlet a few weeks ago. Satin framed wristlet/clutch purses in fuchsia (a perfect match for their Bright Berry J. Crew bridesmaid dresses) originally $108 marked down to $39.99, plus everything in the store was an additional 10% off that day... got them for $35.99 a piece! They also had them in black and a beautiful 'pond blue' color (I'm kicking myself for not buying one-- what a perfect something blue!) Not sure if they're still in stock at the outlets, but I have seen a bunch on ebay. FUCHSIA: POND BLUE:
  17. Just wanted to share with everyone how I managed to score a great deal on sunscreen for all of our OOT bags. I saw a coupon a few weeks ago for $1 off Banana Boat sunscreen in the Sunday paper... it didn't limit the size (just said no lip products) or # of coupons a person could use, which got me thinking. I decided to check ebay and found someone selling 20 $1 off coupons for $1.75 (shipped!). Target has the travel size (1 oz) Banana Boat tubes for $1, so I asked the girl at the register if I could use the coupons for them and she said sure! So I came home tonight with 20 travel size SPF 30 Banana Boat sunscreens for $1.75 :-) PS-- Not all brands allow you to use coupons on the travel size, just make sure you read the fine print first :-)
  18. Our song is "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis... my 18 yr old brother (who has an incredible voice!) is singing it for us. Should be a beautiful surprise for our guests- especially my parents!
  19. After much research, here are a few great bargains I found for our bags (we're doing 30 total): 50 packets of Advil- $15.99 (free shipping) on Amazon.com: Amazon.com: ADVIL IBUPROFEN PAIN RELIEF TABLETS 100/BOX: Health & Personal Care 100 packs of Planter's peanuts (we're putting a couple in each bag) $20.64: Planters Peanuts, Salted, 1-Ounce Packages (Pack of 100): Amazon.com: Grocery 100 stadium cups (16 oz-see attached pic)- $99 (includes free printing and set up- shipping was $15) from ebay seller cupman19. I designed the layout on customink.com (who wanted over $150 for the same size/quanity!) and emailed it to cupman19... he sent a proof within an hour and I had the cups two weeks later. Highly recommend!
  20. I would love the table number holders... just sent you a PM!
