  13. A good place to start is to find out what flowers will be in season, if you're using real flowers. When I embarked on the planning process, I was surprised to learn how little selection I would have in July in Jamaica. I just figured, it's an island-- there must be tons of flowers in every color available! Well, I discovered there is plenty to choose from if you want to FLY them in from the US or Asia, which comes at a hefty price. I would contact your resort's floral dept or the local florist you will be using and request a price list. Be sure to request samples of their previous work too. After you know the flowers you will be using, it's a bit easier to pick bridesmaid dresses to compliment, groomsmen attire etc. Good luck!
  14. Thanks for your interest guys, just sent an invoice to Brooke. Dea-- if they are genuine Real Touch flowers, I promise that no one will be able to feel or see a difference. I'd highly recommend them for any bride-- great way to save $$ and you get to keep them for years to come
  15. I am selling one Real Touch bridesmaid/toss bouquet of (3) green and (2) ivory dendrobium orchids wrapped in fuchsia satin, as well as two single green dendrobium orchid boutonnieres wrapped in ivory satin. These flowers are even more gorgeous in person and are made of genuine real touch flowers! All are brand new, as they were extras that went unused at my wedding. Would prefer to sell all for $40 (plus shipping), but will consider separating. PM if you are interested!

That is one of the things I'm worried about is if they get crushed while transporting them to Mexico. Did you have an AHR when you got back to Florida? If you did, were your flowers used again? Thanks for the feedback, this really helps me! Sharon did a wonderful job of packaging them, so my mom just put them in a few small suitcases and had three family members carry them on board. Worked out great! Even if they were to get a bit crushed, the wax-like material is very durable and would easily return to form. We didn't have an AHR, but I definitely would have used them again if we had!

I'm sure they will turn out beautiful I considered having Sharon do our centerpieces too, but it would have been way too much to take down (we needed 12 centerpieces). Post your approval pics when you get them!

Artificial flowers used in bouquets that look and feel real... a lot of DW brides use them to save money and have more control over the design, since islands generally have a limited selection of flowers available (unless you want to pay to import them). Here is a link to the vendor I used so you can get an idea as to what they look like http://www.sharonnagassardesigns.com/
  19. I had planned on wearing these adorable flip flops while at the spa getting ready and at the reception as my 'dancing shoes,' but forgot to pack them!!! Brand new in package, size small (ladies 6/7) folding white twill flop flips each adorned with a diamond ring charm. Bought them for $25 at a local gift shop, but will sell for $15/obo (plus shipping). PM me if interested
  20. My hubby and I hauled everything down to Jamaica in two large suitcases (that weighed in at 49.9 lbs each!). We were told by our wedding coordinator not to ship anything because we would have to pay a tax on everything plus the resort would charge a "storage fee." Despite having all sorts of snacks, toys etc. stashed in our bags, we never had an issue at customs... just told them we were getting married and they waved us through. I would highly recommend enlisting the help of a few close family and friends to transport stuff down (my mom brought down all of our candles, decorations; brothers and their gfs brought flip flop favors, golf balls, real touch flowers etc). Most airlines allow two bags per person on international flights, I'm sure there are plenty of people in your group that will only have a small suitcase or bag of their own.
  21. Hi guys- I bought these candles/holders from IKEA, but didn't end up using them. All are brand new in package-- 100 tea light candles and 60 glass holders. Style is Glimma and the candles are rated for 4+ hours. Will sell entire group for $20 (plus shipping). PM me if interested!
  22. Glad to hear it! PS-- where did the thread go? Says it was moved but I can't find it!
