Have you thought about a blog type site? They are really easy to set up and maintain and you can update it with your adventure of planning through the honeymoon. Check out wordpress.com and wordpress.org, you can do it for free or do it for very minimal amount for hosting, the choice is yours. There are also plenty of free wordpress wedding themes out there to get you going.

The only thing I really got any use out of was cufflinks. A nice pair of cufflinks that they can all wear on the wedding day if they are dressed formal, and then use afterwards. You can do the engraved initials with that if you want to personalize them.
  4. I like #1 the best overall, but don't really like it for a bride. I think the print is fun, but the print and fabric are not nearly as elegant as the gown. Also, I am usually a fan of using a handbag as a conversation piece or adding pop to an outfit, but I don't know that that is a good thing in the case of a wedding. People's eyes will naturally divert from your beautiful and expensive dress to the 20.00 clutch you are carrying because of the stark colors in contrast to your white gown. I love the bag for a night out on the islands, but not the big day. #2 looks like it will just be a beanbag sack in your hands, so it will be all squishy. I think a better look for a bride is something with a little more structure. And it's handmade beaded look doesn't go well with the detailing of your dress which is much more precision and ornate. #3 just not a big fan of feathers on a bag. Also, is the body silver? Snake? #4 is nice, but the color looks completely wrong, ivory. Just my opinions though, ymmv

Not to mention duties and taxes. Also, if any of your party favors are going to be wrapped, you may want to wait until you arrive before you wrap them. Even if it is clear you may possibly run into an issue with tsa ripping stuff open.

Wondering when I order, which color would be close to the Tiffany blue that i'm using... Thanks!! I am looking at the swatches right now, and I think the closest is either solid PA21@handbagscentral or print PP30@handbagscentral. The print version is really classy and elegant, the pattern is in the same color, so it is very subtle but makes the scarf look expensive and high quality. Also, as an fyi I have an evening bag that goes well with this color, J775, if you are looking for bags for the bridal party. If you need any help with color ideas or scarves/bags/jewelry for the bridal party let me know.

You might just want to e-mail them first to confirm, but honestly – I had a great experience…I ordered them on Wednesday and they were delivered yesterday!) *note for Canadian brides…I’m in Canada, but had them shipped to my FMIL in the States…(she says they’re a beautiful colour and feel like a good quality)…I’m not sure if they ship to Canada, but maybe another BDW member would take them for you and then ship them to you…? Here is the list of Ebay sellers I compiled…obviously there are more, so feel free to add! Onshopping888 eBay Seller: onshopping888: Scarves Wraps, Wallets items on eBay.com purselover168 eBay Seller: purselover168: Clothing, Shoes Accessories, Toys Hobbies items on eBay.com * for 16 pashminas, I was told shipping to Canada would cost $35 and shipping to the US would cost $23.95. MichaelYu123 Soft Pashmina Cashmere Silk Wool Shawl Wrap Scarf SALE - eBay (item 190255353183 end time Oct-04-08 20:40:20 PDT) * I asked this seller about just buying 16 pashminas, instead of bidding and he said he’d sell them to me for $5.99 CND/scarf, and shipping would be $39 CND. (! Eek – that’s a LOT in shipping charges!) Wuld probably be cheaper for those using American dollars:-) Zenjen eBay Seller: zenjen: Clothing, Shoes Accessories items on eBay.com RainbowBridgeFashion 7 2Ply Faux Pashmina shawl wrap scarf WHOLESALE LOT - eBay (item 350110320025 end time Oct-24-08 17:55:12 PDT) Hope this helps someone! I am the vendor mentioned here that the poster bought from, if anyone has any questions feel free to hit me up.

Just a little shopping advice for those looking for pashminas As for everyone's suggestion about chinatown, the decent ones in chinatown will start at 5 bucks, mine go for a few dollars more because of the size and quality. There are a few who sell for 3 or less or willing to discount to that much, but the quality is NOT the same. It may be fine for what you want, but there is a difference. Since I am a wholesaler, my solids that we sell for 3.95 can sell in chinatown for 8-10 without any complaints when they are compared to the cheaper ones, and my customers around the country will sell these for 10-30 or more, with the bulk selling them for 12-18. the variance in quality is huge though, I could purchase from factories in china for less than half of what I pay from the factory I dug up after quite a few trips out there. My point in saying all this is just going after a dollar amount may or may not work for you depending on how nice you want them to be. It is of course highly subjective.

Yeah, the quality issue is tricky when shopping online. Just as an fyi, these actually sell at retail in chinatown nyc for 10.00. There are other vendors selling theirs for 4-5 dollars but when they are held together and compared nobody complains about the price difference. I learned a few years ago that you can never win being the cheapest guy but you can carve out a niche offering great quality at the best prices possible.

It says on their website you “should†have 24 items for the order to be considered “wholesaleâ€. However, I e-mailed the site and they told me anything from 12-24 (or more) is considered wholesale. They are good quality…the colour looked the same as it did on their website and everybody seriously LOVED them! Our female guests wore them their whole trip. (newb here, just let me know if I am doing anything incorrectly per vendor rules) I just wanted to pop in here and introduce myself and personally thank the poster who spoke so highly of us here and any of those who have visited our site. I was checking my site stats and saw a few referrer visits from this forum, which is how I found this site and thread. My name is Joseph and I own handbagscentral.com. We are a wholesale company, but I am happy to help and of the brides-to-be on the board with scarf or evening bag purchases for their bridal party or whatever. I also greatly appreciate the kind words Simistar had in a few posts, we are a family business and pride ourselves on our quality and service. The faux pashmina scarves on our site are the best quality there is after exhaustively searching all over china for the right fabrics and factory and it is nice to hear someone appreciate that. Anyway, I don't want to come off as some kind of spammer, if any of the ladies have any questions just let me know and I would be happy to help you out. Would probably just be best to post here for others to see as well as shoot me a pm, I am a single boy so I am not really spending a lot of time on wedding planning forums right now, lol. Oh, and who is the person running the show, I would be happy to maybe do some kind of group buy or forum member discount if I get the blessing from them, I know how expensive these weddings can get and I am happy to help out in these tough times. Anyway, thanks again for the kind words about my business, Joseph
