I'm ALWAYS down for a cosmo... when are you free? :-D yes, this needs to happen! i live in ross (aka: the middle of nowhere) which is just north of colerain off 275. i work downtown mostly though. week days aren't great for me, but if it's during the week, tuesdays are usually my easiest days! my brother is getting married next saturday (the 24th) so if we can do it after then, that would be perfect! ( Trying to get back on my feet and back into the swing of things...including the elliptical but I'll have to slowly work back up to that. Right now time for a nap with the baby so I'll chat to you all soon, can't wait to catch up on all the happenings I missed this weekend! Any Newbies? WELCOME! Erin - you are wonderfully OCD, I love it! The Re-done list is great! and I love the link to the "something blue" I so want to do that, cute idea - but I'm wearing wedge flip flops so I'll have to figure out where the stickers will go! Maybe on the sides? So far I've only caught up on the last couple posts!! lol Time for bed! so horrible that you got sick for thanksgiving weekend and didn't get to enjoy all the yummy food!! hopefully you're feeling better now! i am wearing sandals (just flats) for my shoes as well and for my something blue i'm getting a blue permanent marker and having my BMs, MOH and my mom write on the bottom of my shoes. i love the sticker idea, but i don't want to be off balance! just an idea if your shoes are similar and you need your something blue!
  5. shan.. did you see this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ur-shoe-50357/ looks like she got the stickers from target, and very inexpensive! thanks tracy! this way we can tell right away who's getting married on which day AND i'm glad we're doing this so we can have it when april comes around.. it'll make it easier to remember who's getting married which day. that way the people like me who have to wait until the end of the month can be sufficiently jealous of everyone!
  6. yayyyy i'm SOO glad you were able to get the starfish.. let's keep him going everyone!!! and just because i'm so happy he's on the move still, here's the most recent list if anyone is interested in jumping in where there's an opening! 1 ) marryinghimagain - October 15 - Dreams Puerto Aventuras 2 ) meli122 - November 7 - Royal, Playa del Carmen 3 ) angruck- December 12 - Dreams Tulum 4 ) cdnvb9- December 29 - Dreams Huatulco 5 ) kpuckrin- January 12 - BlueBeard's Beach, St. Thomas 6 ) ebredhawk - April 28- Dreams Punta Cana 7 ) future mrs. kt ellis - June 19 - Southern CA 8 ) breeze616 - December 10 - Iberostar Rose Hall Beach, Montego Bay also, jacilynda, i hope everything is okay with you and your family. that is so terrible that you had to deal with all of that after getting home from your wedding and hopefully things will start to improve for you soon!

I wanted some city shots and she is gonna do those in spring for us hopefully before we got to Vegas..she also is gonna throw in a setup for our AHR if ppl want to purchase pics at that time. i'm glad your shoot went so well!! it's fun to get all glammed up and have the photog make you look fantastic! the guys always fuss, but they end up having fun! hopefully it will translate in your pictures! of course you must post some as soon as you get them!! 8. nat.. a french FI?! that is incredibly helpful!! mine is so fashion inept it is sad! our colors are pink, white and black.. although my dress is ivory. it's all based off the stargazer lily. i know we're going non-traditional, but the GM will be wearing black linen shirts and tan linen shorts and FI will have a white linen shirt and the same shorts as the guys. the BM have black dresses and then the flowers are mostly white and pink so it ties all of the colors together. i say, it's a DW.. anything goes! whatever colors you think look good together will be beautiful i'm sure!

Your puppies are sooo adorable!!! They look like the perfect dogs to cuddle up with in the cold winter days! good luck with your email!! it certainly can't hurt and it will give you some peace of mind i'm sure! are you having your FI's friend record it and then playing it? that's always an option so he still gets to be part of the ceremony! 11. tam, i think the girls figured out that the $8.99 is just for the floating gel candles and not for the whole set up. you can make those kind of centerpieces for not that much money though, especially when you sign up for the weekly hobby lobby, michaels and/or joann's coupons. also, if you want to have the wording posted on here, you can email it to me ([email protected]) and i'll post it for you! i just got some of my questions answered from deyanira and wanted to share some answers that you guys may be interested in: -silk flower petals are okay, even for a beach ceremony -the huppah they offer is wood, not bamboo -you can get the huppah without flowers (just the white fabric) for $150 as opposed to the $350 with the flowers -a microphone is included in the speaker rental and you only need to rent the speakers for your reception. they are included for the ceremony.
  12. everyone's puppies are ADORABLE!!!! this isn't the best picture, but it has both of them... cash is a border collie mix (almost 2) and sammi is a weimaraner/chocolate lab mix (10 mos). they are very good cuddlers! i never even thought that with the privacy setting you could check to see who's been to your site! i have NO way of knowing who has actually looked at ours, but that shouldn't matter too much. i'm putting together an information booklet for everything that i'll hand out with their OOT bags about a month ahead of time that includes all of that info as well. i don't think i would feel too bad sending our reminders to your guests. they know (or at least they SHOULD know) that this is not a typical wedding so things like rsvps can't be done on the same time table as a wedding at home. your guests aren't going to decide not to come just because you sent an email... they want to be there for your wedding! i think i actually had more people than not tell me they were glad i reminded them because it kept slipping their minds. you can always mention that you need an rsvp because you need a headcount much earlier than you would with a wedding at home! i am so excited because we finally got our specific WC assigned to us and are starting to get resort-specific questions answered! i decided to wait until we had our WC to ask questions since the ones at our resort are super busy all the time. we managed to already get our reception location reserved and get things arranged so FI's best man can play guitar for the processional! i love checking things off my ever-growing list!
  13. amy, i think we just put "private reception to follow the ceremony"... if most of your guests will be staying at the resort, it probably isn't imperative that they know all of the reception details now. they will be at the resort anyway so they can just go where you tell them! also, i'm not sure if you knew this or not, but you can reserve your reception location ahead of time with your WC. just send them an email and they should be able to confirm this now. lp.. thank you so much for posting your review!! i was thrilled to hear that you can substitute a 2nd entree choice instead of the dessert. i always wondered why they offered dessert AND a cake?! did your guests have to decide ahead of time which entree they wanted or did they just order during your reception?
  14. nat, is that the right link? i read the description and it looks like the $8.99 is just for the "floating discs" and not for the vases, flowers, etc. the picture on there was actually my inspiration for my centerpieces (i tried for forever to figure out what the flower was).
  15. oh my gosh.. budweiser is so cute!!!! i will post a picture of my two bozos tonight... the best pictures i have of them are from our engagement pictures and they're on my home comp. meghan, i completely agree!! i love caesar.. he is amazing. that is definitely what happened with our dogs. we noticed they were licking each others ears a lot so i googled it and apparently that's a pack bonding thing. we are total hijackers, but it's healthy to take a break from wedding planning every once in a while, right?!
  16. stephanie, i am SOO sorry to hear that you are going through this. i have been in a similar situation and i hope i can offer some insight... my FI has a daugther who is 6 and every once in a while she will slip up and call me "mom" and of course i correct her. she went on to tell me that, in her mind, i'm her mom when she's at our house, and her real mom is her mom when she's there. while that is 100% not true, i totally got where she was coming from. "mom" to her and at her age means more "female adult" than it does what we see it as.. the person who gave you life, etc. it was interesting to see her mind working through things, but i have been trying to explain to her what the difference between mom and stepmom are. my mom told me once to stop trying to give FI's daughter the mental capacity of an adult when it comes to things like this. kid's don't always understand the situation the way we do or express themselves the way we think they should. i know it is nearly impossible not to take what they said personally, but i am certain your boys didn't mean it that way. if this is any consolation, your sons could just be trying to work through what it means and who this lady is to them now that their dad has remarried. i also think it is fantastic that you have a good enough relationship with your ex that you can sit down and have a civil discussion about these things though. i can't imagine how helpful that has been for your kids through everything! good luck with this whole situation.. i will certainly be thinking good thoughts for you that you get it straightened out and find peace with everything!

Once we got our second dog (FI's pure bred St Bernard, he'd always wanted one) she got so much better. She was a lot less demanding, and she's not lonely anymore when we're at work. Only trouble is when they play around it's like World Wrestling championships in my living room, so needless to say any breakable items are up pretty high. They're like my children too- love them both. i thought mine were the only ones!! both of our dogs were rescues and we weren't sure if they would get along. it made me really nervous at first, but they don't ever hurt each other and it wears them out and they pass out right next to each other! 18. while i do meghan's fabulous recommendation of the seated leg extension i have to make sure that everyone is signed up for hungry girls' daily newsletter. she has awesome information.. lots of good swaps so you can still eat what you want, just a better version of it! i have gotten TONS of ideas from her and her recipe books are extremely helpful as well! 20. annida, your wedding is coming up soon!! when you get back, can you write a review for all of us? there have been several members that have gotten married at DPC in the last few months, but we haven't seen too many recent reviews and they are always so helpful!
  21. I GOT MY OFFICIAL WC ASSIGNMENT!! woooo!! it's deyanira!! i can finally ask some of my crazy questions now!!
  22. i wish they were postable, but i barely got them small enough to send through email! the forums size limits are a little too low for these things. i'm sending them now though.. if you asked for it and don't get it this morning, let me know! i don't usually get on the forum at night when i'm at home and i had to leave work early yesterday so sorry for the delay there!
  23. water is honestly one of the world's greatest weight loss tools! i don't think everyone realizes how much water you can retain and how that affects your weight!! sounds like you are doing some awesome things nat! and FL?! that is awesome! are you just going for his season or is it a permanent move? it'll definitely be a switch from canada!
