cogswellgray, there are actually a ton of us getting married on the beach... but you could probably tell that by this point! i'm not jewish either but i'm doing the huppah.. it seems to have really become a beachy wedding thing too and not just a religious thing. also, i checked with deyanira the other day about the set-up and she said for the beach you can have things set up pretty much however you like as long as you let them know what you want. 4 is a great time for a beach wedding i've been told. that way the sun will start to set while you're taking pictures and those dusk colors are the absolute best!!

toya, i got my BD book made by my photographer and it is AMAZING! sooo worth it!! also, if you go to the vbplazamenu up on the top of the page you can go to the bank there to store away your points! nat, i'm almost certain you can do a set-up for your reception too! i know they have several different types of tables and if your location has enough room i don't see why you couldn't decide your own! i'm sure they'll give you suggestions based on what they've seen too. and THANK YOU for my cupcake!! mmmm.. i can taste it now!

toya i completely forgot to say congrats on your huge guest count!! amazing!! and i completely agree that we should at least get ONE free room for heaven's sake... if it weren't for these weddings they wouldn't have nearly as many guests at the resort period, especially the way the economy has been. i'm still keeping my hopes up for that one and i'll let you know if i hear anything!

ahhh meghan i love it... ask for forgiveness, not for permission! this way you will for sure get the pictures you want and it sounds like you got a great deal on the room too! kim, i agree with what others have said... it's not necessarily the boobs or shoes that make things sexy! you could use some dramatic necklaces (forever 21 is a gold mine!) or other accessories. some of my favorite pictures that i did were actually tooshy shots too i think we need a cheer for checking things off the list!! it's such a gratifying feeling, even the smallest things!

toya, let us know when you find out from deyanira about the prices. if they went down i would be SUPER happy!! my TA is currently checking with dreams about the 6th room free deal... apple vacations already told her that a wedding negates it, but i'm hoping dreams says otherwise! i also got some clarification from deyanira about the kids meals... the kids DO count towards your 20 people, however their meals (if they eat something different from everyone else) will bring down the cost of the reception a little bit as kids meals are 1/2 price. she is checking for me on whether or not we can have cupcakes instead of a cake too... i hope they say it's okay! i also asked her about moving my chair sashes from the ceremony to the reception while we're taking pictures. she didn't quite answer the question i wanted, but she did send me a picture of the different colors of linens that they offer. i will post the picture if anyone wants to see, but in my opinion they colors aren't nearly as bright as what you can get online and their prices are SO much higher!

tam, my first dress fitting is this saturday too! i hope everyone's go well!

deyanira said you don't get charged until you get down there... they just need to have the card in case you cancel and they will charge you then. i sent deyanira another email last week and still haven't heard back from her. i think i may have to resort to the nice "follow up" email here soon... i have no patience!

tonya... male stripers and lap dances?! that's hilarious! meghan.. just make sure your guests are snapping away tons of pictures so you can still see everything afterwards. i've found that boys just don't get it sometimes! shan.. the thing that stinks about BD pictures is that not a lot of photogs put them on their blogs. i can tell you though that my FSIL did hers for her husband when i did mine and she wore a hard hat, construction boots, etc. and had one of those "slow/stop" signs and it looked amazing! some times the things that aren't blatantly sexy can be the best!! if you do anything with a big rig we HAVE to see!

i emailed my TA about the deal from the resort and she said she didn't think we would qualify for it. i guess she was told that it doesn't apply if you are having some other kind of event (like a wedding) or if your reservation wasn't new... i'm not sure what "new" means. she said she was going to check to make sure we weren't missing out on something though so i'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get SOMETHING!

melidell, it's about time we got into the 5 month range!!! we're some of the last in the month! meghan, i know i'm coming into this a little bit late, but have you shown your FI moments that matters work? that's what tipped the scales in my favor as far as photography goes. these will be your memories of your day and you don't want to have to settle!! let us know what you decide! i'm right there with you on the christmas shopping too! i hate being stressed at the last minute and not being able to enjoy the season! tonya, i love the two on the right. i would only say the top right because the words don't get lost, but if you can change around the word placement a little bit, the bottom one would be perfect!

tracy those mugs look great! and what a price!! i believe in order to personalize them you'll probably need to use a sticker similar to the link you gave to etsy. i've read that a lot of people have had problems with other personalization peeling off in the heat and humidity so if you get something waterproof i think that would be your best bet!

tam - we're doing the same thing for our honeymoon! we're actually staying the same amount of time as all of the guests, but next summer we're doing 2 weeks in europe as our "post-wedding vacation". people kept making fun of us since it's not really a "honeymoon" so that's what we're calling it!

hi leslie! looks like you have a lot of questions there, so i'll try to answer some of them the best i can! i don't think 6 months is too little time, but this is completely dependent on your guests. if you know them well enough and are confident that they can have the money and are able to take the time off work and away from home, then go for it! you've already got two of the hardest parts taken care of.. the resort and the photographer. depending on where you order STDs and magnets from, it may only take a week or so. you can use vistaprint, but you'll have to pay a little more for quicker shipping. you can always make your own as well... this would save you a lot of time and money and there are a lot of templates on the forum.

melidell, i think a lot of us are right there with you. there's that initial rush when you figure out your location, package prices, do invitations, figure out what you're putting in OOT bags, etc.. after that you end up just having to wait for things to happen! it's funny.. we all expect wedding planning to be stressful so when we have time to relax and enjoy it, we stress that we're not stressed enough!! i'll post pictures of the cake i made as soon as my SIL gets the professional ones!
