i agree with kim on everything... i'm not doing any of that stuff either. it's a DW so all bets are off. it's hard to predict how things are going to be set up at most places and i'd have to make up the list of what everyone's room number is once we get down there since we won't know before (which does not sound appealing to me!). i'm attempting to go as low-stress as possible, but we'll see how that turns out! speaking of which, i just found out that i don't get to go home now until january 29th. suchhhh a huge bummer. i think i'm going to focus on just doing little wedding-related things to get me through. starting a packing list, finalizing my information packet for my guests, finding stuff for my flower girl bags, etc. i've never been happier that i did so much before 2010!

kim i wish you could have done the bd shoot with us too! i'll keep my fingers crossed that you can fit it in. there's a lady in dayton who has pretty awesome pictures and does BD at her newly designed studio. let me know if you want her info! tracy, i hope you can get your pics in soon too! why do the littlest things have to be so hard sometimes?? i would totally return the stuff to BB&B for cash! paying off debt and creating a home fund is WAY better than pans in my opinion!

i love reading about all of the stuff the january brides are going through! you know you guys are just going to prep us all for the craziness when our time comes!! big thumbs up for the work bridal shower too jocy... any excuse for cake and gifts i always say! -
don't worry about the bags too much, tracy! your MOH may not be able to see it now, but what you're putting effort into will help her and the rest of your guests once you're down there and i'm sure that everyone will appreciate it. it's good to be discerning about what items people will use and what they won't, but it's a really neat gesture and i can't imagine people won't respond well to them! by the way... -15 with the wind chill still sounds unbearable to me!! it was 6 degrees here this morning and i thought i was going to turn into a human icicle!
-
i can't even imagine how cold that is! your heat bills must be outrageous!! it's snowing where i'm at right now so i'm definitely dreaming of the beach. it can't come soon enough!

the sound system is included for the ceremony... just extra to rent it for your reception. you'll get the speakers, an ipod hookup, a microphone, etc. i had to verify all of this since the best man is playing guitar and we need people to be able to hear him! tam, it seems like we all just reach a point where the little things don't matter anymore! i said for the first time the other day that i can't wait for all of the "thinking" to be over with! i've enjoyed planning, but trying to remember all of the little details and things like that is driving me slowly mad! i just want a vacation and our wedding! -

i believe the tulle is included.. you shouldn't have to bring anything else for the huppah! as for the deposit, ours never got charged and if i remember right, they don't really charge you for it until you get down there. it's kind of strange. nat, you're the first person that i've heard of that actually got charged for their deposit! well, i'm officially in the middle of nowhere in WV now. may actually have to stay over at least one of the two weekends when i'm scheduled on this client. you can imagine my excitement when i found that out. i hate being away from home for work!! wedding thoughts are getting me through though! -

jocy and tam... are either of you using the huppah in your ceremony? i would really love to see it being used in a wedding. i think i've really only seen the arch! -
oh my goodness.. it sooooo is. we picked april partially because i'll need a vacation SO badly once all of this is over!!

i am SOOOOO glad that you got it on time! i saw your other thread about possibly needing a "something borrowed" and i got worried!! of course i can't wait until i get the starfish after our moon palace girls!! i'm already picturing him in my bouquet! -
i'm right there with the crappy work hours. i'm an accountant so the next 3 months for me are MINIMUM 55 hour weeks. not to mention that the next 3 weeks i'll be out of town during the week in the middle of nowhere west viriginia! glad there will be other people here who can understand! michele, i say "go get 'em!". if it means finding out your final guest count, go ahead and bug them like crazy!! i finally got the travel for both my photographer and videographer booked! one more thing off the list, thank goodness!!
-
yay tonya!!! definitely have a glass of wine or a few shots of something to ease your nerves! it takes about 5 minutes or so to start to feel comfortable and then you won't want to stop! my online gallery for my BD pics expires in a few days and it makes me so sad. i have the book to look at, but it reminds me how long ago those pictures were taken! make sure you let us know how it goes!

eliana - i think 3 if the sun sets at 5:30 isn't bad at all! if you have a photographer who will be taking pictures after the ceremony, that's the perfect time of day.. right before sunset. you'll have to have time for those pictures, your cocktail hour and then the reception. better to have plenty of time than to be rushed.. especially when you get to have your catholic priest and the date you wanted! i can't believe we have 2 january brides coming up so soon! i see people who are getting married later in 2010 and even 2011 and i think to myself "mannn.. they have so far to go".. i keep forgetting that my ticker started at 14 months! time flies wayyyyy too fast! i absolutely can't wait to hear both jocy and tam's reviews when they get back! takes lots of notes girls! -
ohhh one more thing that was brought up in the Dreams PC thread... for the US girls, make sure you check your airline's new restrictions. some are only allowing one carry-on for your returning flight and some others are doing funky things. the only ones i know for sure that haven't done anything additional are USA 3000 and Delta.
-
oh my goodness michele, i remember when you couldn't get one person to book.. now look at you!! has to be such a boost for you! when little things like this happen everything starts to seem real! i'm still undecided about the invites... meghan, we considered using the wishingwell thing, but we still have some family members that are weary of using credit cards and doing money-related things on-line. we also do want some people to get stuff from our registry, but not everyone since we hardly have space in our house as it is!! why are these the difficult questions to answer?!? i think i may go with the wedding website thing and have our parents and wedding party let people know our preferences if they ask. if everyone gives us money, we can always just go buy what we want off our registry anyway, right?!

yeah i think those airlines are okay. it looks like you can just go to the airline site and see what information they have about new TSA regulations. -
very good question kim.. i'm curious about that too. my instinct would be to send thank yous as soon as you get the present, because i would fall behind and then hate every second of having to do them all at once. of course, i'm the anti-etiquette queen, so don't listen to me!! speaking of the "e" word... my photographer is making our AHR invites for us and while i was trying to think of what to put on them i started wondering... can you put registries on those invitations? i know people think it's bad when you put it on a wedding invite, but is the AHR more like a wedding, or more like a party?? sooo confusing and annoying! really, i'd just like to put "cash, por favor", but then i'd really be in trouble!

i take that back.. looks like only some airlines are doing it, and it's only flights back into the US, but still.. ridiculous! thankfully we are only using 2 different airlines so i don't have to research 100 different airline restrictions! an FYI for anyone flying Delta, they don't have anything additional yet... just the increased screening. -

i'm actually such a spaz that i made a list of every person coming with us and whether or not they will need a checked bag and then i have my own bags with weddign things pre-designated for the ones who don't. (little kids are a blessing since they don't need to check their own bag!) i didn't hear about the travel restrictions, but i just looked it up. i'm concerned about this "one carry-on thing". i have my freaking dress as one of mine.. they're telling me that's all i can bring? -
amcarter, sounds like some crazy last-minute mess! i hope everything gets figured out for you, your guests and your ceremony and reception! darn to-do lists... i'm telling you what... i come up with little things to include on it faster than i can check things off and i'm not liking that at all!! i can't believe (well, yes i can) the trouble everyone is having with getting guests booked. we actually just found out on new years eve that one of our guests who was going to do a payment plan never paid the measly $45 to hold her price and now she can't go because the price went up too much. is it really too much trouble for people to make an effort? if this is how bad people are when they get a TRIP included, can you imagine a wedding at home?? speaking of weddings at home, not to be a DW snob or anything, but J and i were watching a movie a few nights ago and there was a church wedidng in it. it just seemed so... plain. i don't understand why anyone does that now!! church or beach... tough choice!

you can buy finger starfish and a few other types at hobby lobby and michaels.

is it weird that one of the things i'm worried about is the WC not playing the right song when when we walk back down the aisle? they do this almost every day so i should know it will be fine, but i can't stop finding some little thing to stress about!! -
very wedding-ish and punta cana-ish at the same time! i like it!

meghan.. that's exactly our situation.. except we both love our house. it just doesn't quite work for an expanded family. we have two bedrooms, but we need one for J's daughter so any additions need more space! plus, we live on the same street with his parents, two sets of aunts and uncles and his grandparents, so i'm ready to move to somewhere new! tracy, keep it up with the wii fit! i've heard that people have had real success with it! plus, you don't get bored doing all the fun games and exercises!
