  1. Hey Ladies, I just wanted to share my experience so far with Alquimia Events. We were looking around for quite a while for a vendor to help with lounge furniture & lighting & finally came across Cecilia from Alquimia Events. She has been nothing short of wonderful. She listens to what I say about what I envision and does everything she can to work with me. She emails back and forth several times a day at times and even sends me pictures. I even expressed in an email that I'd like to talk on the phone & she literally called me within 15 minutes. Cecilia & Alquimia Events have been nothing but professional so far with reasonable prices. Now we are even getting our centerpieces with the florist they work with. My wedding is in 9 days, so I will write a review when I get home to let you know how everything goes. I just thought I'd share because this experience so far has definately taken some of the stress away!

I wonder if they can do square cakes??

  4. Hey girls- how were the wedding cakes?? I already had a tasting when we were down there & showed Claudia a picture of what I wanted & she said it was no problem.....but I never actually saw one of their cakes (we just had small ones). Are they decorated nicely? ...or should I stick to a simple design?
  5. AHHHH...just looked at my sig....exactly 1 month until our wedding!!! I mean I've known that all day, but it's different when you see it in writing! Also, random question for people who just got married....what did you put your table numbers in? I am making mine, but I don't feel like buying/bringing down holders. Do they have those little wire things with the little loop in the top? ..or picture frames...if so what size are they? Thanks!

But for a slow, sappy love song, we were serenaded Il Divo's "The man you love" when we were in the Tequila lobby bar (a few days before the wedding) by the mariachi band, and I cried it was so beautiful. They did the most amazing job, and now I LOVE that song because of that. Maybe they could just sing the chorus or something from it? Their voices are unbelievable... wish I could re-live that. Cara Cara, you are my hero right now, you have no idea how much you just helped me. I listened to it & I started tearing up. It's perfect! Thank you so much! Love your pic by the way!
  7. I'm actually not a lime green person either, but my friend is doing a deep purple & lime green. I didn't think it would be nice, but I was at her bridal shower last weekend & surprisingly, I loved it. Her centerpieces for the tables were purple hydrangea with simple greenery, with limes cut in the bottom of the square vase. It was really pretty.
  8. Your dress will definately never look the same. Why don't you get a second dress that looks similar to your first one. There are so many inexpensive options...a lot of dept. stores have bridal salons, David's Bridal...I just called the bridal store where I got my Bridesmaid dresses & flat out told her I need a dress for $99...and she said okay and gave me several options. I think you have to think about what's more important to you...would you rather hold onto your actual dress, or be concerned that people are focusing how amazing your TTD photos are & not having them think that you did it the same day? Good luck!
  9. Oh, I guess I should mention- when I asked my WC for suggestions, all she said was that if I had anything I wanted to be played to email her & she will check if they can do it...if not they can do the standard Here comes the Bride and Wedding March. I've googled and looked on You Tube & have gotten no where.....now I'm really stressed.
  10. So my FI really wants a Mariachi band for our ceremony. I'm nervous about it, he swears it will be beautiful. Regardless, he hasn't spoken up about much, so we're doing it. Now I am stuck with the task of finding songs that sound good with a mariachi band playing them for the bridal party entrance, my entrance, and when we walk out after we are married (something happy and peppy). ANY IDEAS!!?
  11. Alright ladies, I need some help because I'm really stressing out over this. For our ceremony, we are having the mariachi band (gasp, I know, I'm a bit nervous about it, but the FI really, really wants it so of course that's what we are doing). Basically, I can't figure out what song I will be walking into or the bridal party. If anyone who has recently used them, can think of a really happy, peppy love song that they played that we could walk out of the church from after we are married, I'd appreciate it. If you can remember any slow, sappy love songs, I'd appreciate them too. This is really my last option! I've googled everything & can't find anything I really like and I emailed Claudia & all she'll say is don't worry they will do standard "Here Comes the Bride" and "Wedding March." I'd like to do something different though.
  12. Hey ladies, I just thought I would share my website with you all. There are some pictures of the resort for those of you who don't have any. Sorry, I meant to do this a while ago. Rob & Beth - wedding website by mywedding.com
  13. Also- question for the brides that used ILKA MONFORTE...how much was your hair & make up? I saw the pricing on her website, but did you pay 2750 pesos for your hair & then AGAIN for your make up?? ...and did you have to pay an outside vendor fee? How did that work?
  14. It's a bit late, but congrats to all the recent brides!!!! and thanks for your reviews!
  15. Hey- question for any previous Catholic brides....I'm trying to figure out how the ceremony is going to go, so I can start my programs...did you pick your own readings, or did the priest pick them for you? Did you pick your music? Did you have any contact with the preist prior to the ceremony?? I'm starting to get really nervous that I'm going to make these programs & find out they are all wrong when I get down there!

Good luck! Do you know the name the vendor by any chance? That seems to be the best rice that I've seen.
