  1. I'm so happy to hear that RPRM has moved up two spots! I usually check TripAdvisor twice a week, if not more! I've even gone through all of the traveler's photo's over and over again! jetsbride- we're actually considering doing a BBQ for our AHR in the summer after we get back. It will be couple months later, but like you, we would have to wait until it's warm enough out. I wouldn't worry about people thinking you're dragging it out...it's your wedding...you might as well make it last as long as possible! And for those who didn't attend your DW, it will be their first time celebrating with you! Definitely see your point about those who did attend you DW having to celebrate one too many times with you though, lol! Josie- I haven't heard of RPRM having a live stream, as of yet anyway...my mom actually found a website that can make it possible to have this though. It's IdoStream live wedding webcast, broadcast and video streaming. Share your wedding live online for friends and family who cannot make it to the event.. I'm definitely going to look more into it!

What about the guests, I don't want to make it a big deal but will people be offended if they were not invited to the actual ceremony? Is everyne planning a AHR? if you are, how long after the actual wedding until you have the AHR? sorry, I've got lots of questions... As of right now, we're planning to get legally married the day before we leave. We're not really inviting anyone (except our parents of course), because, like everyone else, we don't want people to think our wedding in Mexico is any less special. We will consider our real wedding to be the day we get married in Mexico. We haven't decided yet about our AHR...I really like Tylersgirl's idea of getting another dress that's a little more casual, but still has that "wedding day" look.

Does anyone know why some resorts allow three and others four? I have definitely seen this vary from resort to resort. At first I thought it was based on the area in Mexico you're in...but it actually looks like the resort can set their own "number of days" rule. I think the resort I'm getting married at is three days. We're planning to get married on a Friday and are hoping everyone stays until Sunday, so that they don't have to leave right away after the wedding.

LOL Out of curiosity do you all have your dresses sorted I've fallen into the "just need to lose those last few pounds" mode but now the clocks a ticking, im comfort eating like a woman possessed and I've not even tried on any dresses!! OMG, everyone is definitely already sick of all my wedding talk, lol! I'm actually going dress shopping tomorrow! I'm brining my MOH with me too, so hopefully I can find bridal party dresses too! I keep thinking that I have all of this time to get things done, but I know the time will fly by...it's already LESS THAN YEAR AWAY!!!

We've had a reservation for over a month now ( mainly just to secure our wedding date and time ) and we have no idea how much it will cost. Our TA told me last week that the rates will be out in 2 weeks, so I guess I only have 1 week left to wait. My main concern is what to tell our guests. Everyone keeps asking my how much its going to be and it kind of sucks to tell them I don't know. I do keep looking at rates for december, just to give me some idea, and they seem pretty reasonable. Let's hope they stay that way! Definitely good to hear I'm not the only one! My TA told me hopefully next week...my guests have been asking me the same thing and I feel bad telling them I have no idea! I just can't wait until they're finally out, so I can send out my STD's and everyone can start planning their trip!
  6. Good news...I think I FINALLY I have my room booked! However, still no rates yet...so I have a room, but have no idea how much I'm paying for it, lol! And also have no idea what my guests will be paying. But at least I got to go through the entire wedding confirmation process!
  7. Good point Shelk...where is MsBettyB!? I can't wait to hear about her trip!
  8. northernflasher-We share the same wedding date! I'm also planning for March 26th, 2010...our location is the Riu Palace Riviera Maya! Just getting so annoyed that the 2010 rates aren't out yet, so I haven't been able to get very far...hopefully soon!
  9. Before we decided to stay in Mexico for ours, we actually considered flying to Nassau to stay at the Atlantis on Paradise Island. We both really want to go there, but then changed our mind to make is easier and less expensive.

For 150-200, it couldn't hurt to see what they come up with. Chloe- I wish I could see your dresses from work! They sound so pretty! I can't wait to look at them when I get home tonight!

I'm definitely in the mood to go wedding dress shopping now!

I will post pics as soon as I can! Your dress is SO pretty! I can't wait to see pictures of it on!
  13. Shelk- I looked at your dresses last night! I love both, but really love the more flowy one on the right!
  14. Josie- I love your dress! I'm actually going on Friday to look at a Maggie Sottero! Tylersgirl- What is the name of the dress you're wearing? I would love to see it! I will have to check the name of the one I hoping to try on this week!
  15. I agree with Kristy and MsMiranda...you have enough to worry about! I've never received a gift at a bachelorette party either, so I wouldn't worry about it (no one will be expecting one)...the thank you cards would be nice though!

Even if they won't let you make your choices right away, I still wish they would at least give you all of the information so you can start planning on your own!
  18. Oh no! I never even thought of that happening! Since I haven't sent out my STD's yet, I haven't come across that...now that I know it might become an issue, I will have to make a point to STRESS that it's RPRM and not Mexico! Even though all of your guests might not have access to your website (I know a lot of my older guests don't), you should put a pop-up message or update just clarifying! I'm sure it will all work out fine, but I can definitely see how this is a hassle now, trying to get in contact with all 200 guests!
  19. Thanks for everyone's responses! It does sounds beautiful...I still have my heart set on RPRM, but it's good to hear that Riu Palace Aruba may be just as beautiful...possibly a backup! Like KimmyG I considered switching locations due to everything going on in Mexico.
  20. All of these responses have been so helpful...I was also looking for something like this to include on my STD's!
  21. Thanks Josie! That is actually one that I was looking into and it's gorgeous! The price sounds reasonable too, which is another plus! It's definitely on my list...the other's we're considering are Excellence and Iberostar.

  23. Not sure if there is a thread for this already...Is anyone planning to switch resorts after their wedding for their honeymoon? If so, to what resort? We are planning our wedding at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya and would like to do an adults only for our honeymoon. I would love any suggestions!
  24. I'm planning my wedding at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya and I think they also cut your reception off after three hours...I'm planning on just paying extra to keep it going for longer. That way I don't have to worry about people leaving in between switching from one location to another...I like just keeping everything in one place!
