  1. Hello ladies. It's been a while since I was on WW, but since I'm now planning a wedding, it's time to get back to it. Looks like there's plenty of support here. Looking forward to losing it.
  2. Congrats on making it 25 years! Happy planning!
  3. Just curious, everyone invited knows already, so I'm not sure when I should get my STD cards out there. Should I do the ones for the wedding the same time I sent the ones for our AHR?
  4. I'm only having a cocktail reception after my wedding. I was planning to do that when I was going to have the wedding at home. My thoughts are that if you have more apps to serve people, they will eat them, and probably drink more. Most of the time after a cocktail hour, people don't have room for their meal anyway, so half the plates go back without much food having been eaten. If you will be doing just cocktails and apps, make sure there is enough for people to get enough to eat.
  5. I made the announcement that I would be having a DW around Christmas. Now, I have a lot of my family members calling me to ask where exactly the wedding will be so they can plan their trips. I thought I made it perfectly clear that it would just be immediate family and close friends, and everyone else would be invited to our AHR. The wedding is not for a while, but why does everyone just think that they are all invited to the wedding? How do I gently break it to them that I really don't want a large crowd? Not to be mean, but my family are a bunch of lushes who can turn any event into a keg party.
  6. I was on a dating site for a while, but I ended up meeting FI outside of there and things worked out. I later found out that he also belonged to the same dating service, and we weren't matched. I thought that was funny because he always says we're perfect for each other.
  7. Hello Jamaica Ladies! My name is Sara, FI is Jeff. We'll be getting married at Coral Cove Resort in Little Bay Jamaica. The wedding is set for August 28, 2010. Not sure yet what dates we'll be there for, that will be decided later.
  8. We had been dating almost 4 years when we got engaged, it will be about 5 1/2 when we get married.
  9. Very cute. Hope you two have a lot of fun this weekend.
  10. I was a student at Anna Maria College in Massachusetts, he was one of the maintenance guys. We saw each other around campus, but nothing ever came of it. My friends and I actually referred to him as 'the hot guy' because we didn't have anything else to look at on campus. I think that's funny now, because he used to have dreadlocks, which really wasn't my thing. Flash forward to my junior year, I started working at a restaurant near the campus. I found out that one of the women I worked with was a very close friend of his, and accidentally mentioned the whole 'hot guy' thing. She decided to play matchmaker, and a couple months later, we started dating. He left the school not long after to work for the state. We started living together after about two years. Around July, 08, I set a wedding date and told him if he wouldn't be ready for a wedding then, he needed to tell me. It took until December before he really showed me he was serious. It was a very snowy Friday, so he got home really late. He called me outside saying that he had hit my car coming into the driveway. When I got outside, he threw snow in my face, and then got down on one knee. Since then we've barely begun our planning, just have some basics laid down. It's just always fun to share the story. That turned out to be a lot longer than I thought it would be.
