This is the reason why i have a 30 minute "walking" time from the cocktail hour to the reception. Nancy suggested you have walking time to make sure everyone is at the reception site at the same time. Thanks for the info. I'm also working with Nancy, she's been great so far. I'm not really worried about anyone making the walk but I'm glad to give them some options. The "walking" time is a good idea.

Jenny & JM here in Cancun! ** Updated with wedding photos #27**

Jenny you look great, can't wait to see more pictures. Nice job JM for a quick edit. Hope everything worked out with the flights. -
OMG as well, we definitely need this! Thanks.

Thanks for the Apostille info. We already did ours but I was so nervous about sending it all in the mail I spent way too much on the postage (certified mail and such). I was planning on tipping the WC, maybe $50 or so, I would also like to hear what others think about this. Random question for anyone that has been to MP. I was thinking about getting some wrist coil key card holders for my OOT bags. My FI pointed out that MP might already give something like that when you get your key. Does anyone know? Thanks

MUST READ-- Mexico DW worried about travel
drtracy replied to ashey063009's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Can I just point out that Cancun (where I'm headed) is over 2000 miles away from Tijuana. All 'alerts' and warnings and what not are regarding the BORDER towns. I definitely don't want to sound mean but I agree with starchild, if anyone is that worried, don't go. -
Just FYI - it differs depending on which version of itunes you have. My version of itunes (8.0) lets me right click a song and choose the option to convert to mp3. Very easy.

Great message Ash~ I completely agree 100% with your assessment and your post. "The issue comming up is that web "bloggers" are beginning to post "DO NOT GO" ratings for Mexico-- the secret: THEY ARE JUST BLOGGERS. They are giving their opinion (an uninformed one at that, if you ask me)" I study media for a living (PhD in Mass Communication) and while there are bloggers that do have more credible posts than others it really boils down to someone's opinion and it is up to us as literate media consumers to find several sources of information. Preferably from reliable sources. -
Wedding Dress Prices?
drtracy replied to gkashmira's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I found mine for about $1000 at a boutique then found a store that will buy dresses directly from the designer with very little mark up. They were able to get it for $500. My alterations here should be cheap so it still keeps me under $600. -

And second, I am REALLY interested in doing TTD pictures but am totally lost in how do get the ball rolling on that one, any helpful hints? Thanks so much, Im not really sure what I would have done without this website, except be totally lost with this whole destination wedding thing! Hey Beachbride ~ I'm at 2&1/2 so I just passed the mark of doing a lot of those things. I emailed the MP and someone emailed me back with my WCs name. I contacted her with questions and we've been chatting via email ever since. It usually takes a few days for replies but I've never had to wait more than 2 or 3. As for TTD, I just hired my photographer so I can give you a few tips/ideas if you want. There are also several threads about Cancun photographers if you put in a search for it. If you need any help feel free to PM me. Tracy

Yamille, I'm with Erin ~ tell them you aren't happy, see if you can get a refund or at least partial. I'm so sorry that you aren't happy with them. Save up and do it for a 1 year (that's my plan if I don't gain too much after wedding weight!).

I do have another confession ~ I've known my FI pretty much forever and when we were in high school I dated a couple of his friends. Now two of those friends are coming to our wedding with their wives, one's even a groomsmen. I'm not sure how I feel about it but since my FI knows and doesn't care it's cool but still a little funny to have someone I "KNOW" (ah-hem) as a GM.

Weddings are heavy on the emotions, and you'll have lots of highs and lows, but you'll get through them all. If you need anything, just ask! Ha, I love the CASE of wine suggestion! Jamie, definitely not alone in this one. I'm not freaking out yet but wedding stuff is definitely consuming all my time and energy lately. I totally agree with the idea of the check list - take some from here and make your own. Every time you cross something off you'll feel better. As far as the tan, weight, etc. That is not really as superficial as it sounds, wanting to look perfect on the big day is a HUGE stresser. If not, why would we spend so much time on finding the perfect dress and hairstyle? I feel like my last 10 lbs. will never come off and if I got any paler I'd get lost in all the snow here.

You know you're addicted when you use BDW as a reward system. "If I clean the house for 2 hours I can spend 1 on the forum." or at work "After I finish assignment A I can look at the forum for 30 minutes then do assignment B and repeat!"

kmac ~ I think you have to put down a group reservation for at least 10 rooms to get the cocktail reception and, of course, have those rooms booked before you get there. My deposit was only $300 per room so it wasn't too bad (once the rooms were booked my TA moved the money to my own room so it is now paid for). I'm pretty sure if you get more people then you do get the freebies that come with 20+ rooms and such but you need to reserve the 10. I could be wrong though, just what my TA told me. Hope that helps.

My BMs earrings are finished!
drtracy replied to drtracy's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Thanks all, I talked to my designer (she's really a friend that designs but saying my designer sounds so much cooler). She's going to dangle earrings for the moms to match their dresses and if my FMIL and FSMIL don't get me their colors soon they'll get generic. As for the dresses ~ My MOH actually found them online in Targets bridal section. I know, Target, BM dresses, crazy, right? But they are great Isaac Mizrahi dresses. She told me that she just googled "coral sundresses" and they popped up. I don't know if they still have any but it's definitely a place to look. -
What are the Random Things Your FI/DH put his foot down about**
drtracy replied to Erika J's topic in Random Thoughts
Can you ask if the sombrero can hold chips and salsa? I saw that on TV or in a movie or something, there were little people wearing sombreros with chips and salsa walking around a party and people ate out of their hats. I think a donkey with beer, chips and salsa would be AWESOME! -

I can see it now ~ "Tracy, we're all here b/c we love you and there is something that you are doing that is really interfering with your life. Please stop the forum." Fortunately, I have a laptop so my FI and I can be in the same room, totally quality time while I'm on here.
