I agree with the others. If you search you will see a number of threads like this one. I agree that every bride on this site has felt like you do.
We are going to have 20 people plus us and our photographers at the wedding. At one point in time our estimate was near 50. Needless to say we have had a lot of people decide that they didn't want to come/couldn't afford it.
Everytime I started to second guess my decision to have a DW, I thought about planning a local wedding, and having to deal with a huge guest list and everyones opinions and impressions of what my wedding should be. And, I'm reminded that I'm doing what I want. Since no one is coming, no one really cares how I plan my wedding, so I'm having the wedding I really want.
We did decide to have an AHR. But, it is more of a semi-formal party. We are not doing any of the formalities. My opinion is my wedding and reception is in Jamaica, not here. Although my family has been getting on my last nerve becuase they keep calling it my wedding. However, if I did not have this celebration, I think I would regret it. But, it is a good reminder why I did not want to plan a local wedding.

I thought I would give this thread a bump...since June is fast approaching and I know some thought that we could try another get together in June...
So what do we say girls? What weekend in June works...

I'm so glad to hear you got the package....
I agree with you. I don't know why the woman (person) couldn't have notified anyone. But, better to focus on the good news...THE PACKAGE HAS BEEN FOUND

Think I'll have to make a trip to Old Navy this Saturaday.

We have both a joint account and separarte accounts. Bills are divided up and paid out of our separate accounts. But we have the joint account for major household purchases and for the wedding planning, etc. We both contribute to the joint account. We have been doing this for 9 years, so we really don't plan on changing our approach - it works for us.

That is definitely a teaser.

Thanks for the tip. I've had my iPod set up since December but have spent little to no time on iTunes

Thank you for sharing. I have checked-out some of the other threads, but I don't remember seeing these links.

I think you are fine to go...I would. It is really great that you are so considerate of her feelings. Most wouldn't even give it a second thought. I would just let her know that you will be out of town, and make yourself available to her in the days leading up to the wedding.

I like #3 of these. Have you tried esty.com

I agree with the idea of bringing accessories - great heels, jewelery, garter, nylons - but remember to use them. I brought a lot of the accessories but did not use a lot of them. While I love my pictures, I wish I had incorporated more of the accessories.
Also, RELAX and HAVE FUN!

I'm sorry...but I'm going to agree with some of the others. I just bought my first aid kits today and your template is really perfect. Have you figured out a way to post it? If not, could you send it to me via e-mail: [email protected]

Congratulations!!!!
I have been hiking at the Valley of Fire and it is absolutely gorgeous. So, is Red Rock, which someone else mentioned. I say do what makes you happy. Good luck!

I would say dress #2 - I really like the detailing on it, and I like the fact that it ties in the back - it looks very islandy

They are beautiful!!!! The wording is absolutely perfect! I especially love the wording on the RSVP

I ordered my towels through towels4less and they had a "standard" embroidery that said "No Problem" and I added Jamaica underneath. I wanted it to be general enough that people would feel comfortable using them again.

We got engaged in September '08 and are getting married in June '09 - so just about 9 months. I have had plenty of time. I think what has been keeping me busy is the fact that our AHR is only a month later and it is a semi-formal affair, so I have had as much planning to do for that as I have the DW. But I took about a month off from wedding planning around the holidays.
I think you will be fine with a year.

That is beyond annoying. Good luck dealing with the bank and the police. The police should take a look at the video.

I think it is a cute idea.
My bridemaids ended up using bath and body works products along with some chocolates as the prizes for the games.
