  1. I'll try to answer some of your questions. First, to let you know Chantelle is the only coordinator at RMB, so she is sometimes slow to respond, but (for me at least) she has always responded. Just based on the number of brides getting married there in the next couple months who are on this forum, I suspect she is really busy.

In the meantime, you might want to check out this link: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t37144

It contains a lot of information regarding RMB and some of the options.

Tia Flora is the primary source for flowers and chuppas... there is some infomration on the link above about them. But you can also go to thier website at Tai Flora Services Ltd. - Jamaica's Full Service Florists. Your can contact them directly for information/quotes. To let you know they may take a little time to respond. I know they took about a week to get back to me.

Also, check under wedding reviews on BDW as a couple of Mrs just returned and have posted thier reviews and other information.

  2. I didn't have mine yet, but I contacted Chantelle about the option of a welcome dinner at the Rose Hall Buffet. Basically I just asked her if they would be able to set up a group of tables for the wedding group. She told me that it would not be a problem. I figured this would offer the most flexibility in terms of a seating time in case people want to do tours that day, rather than having to go with one of the set times for the reservation-based resturants.

  3. I will say ditto to what Soon2bMrsRosa said. While I knew what it was, my photographer said she describes it as a chance for her to use a really amazing location to get some incredible photos without having to worry about the dress getting wet and/or dirty. Generally, the dress is not trashed (unless the bride truly chooses to rip or ruin her dress), so she calls it a love the dress session...

  4. The inital pictures look great.

I know what you mean about the surprise. My MOH knows I did my shoot but no one else. And, doing something like a BD shoot is totally and completely not her style, so she just thinks I'm insane. I'm cannot wait to show the book to my FI...he will be so surprised. Plus I had to tell a half a dozen lies to pull it off, and I think he was a little suspicious.

I hope you have as much fun surprising him as I plan to.

  5. Congratulation...it sounds like you had a wonderfult time. And, thank you for sharing the review!!!

One quick question/confirmation...were the sashes rented or did Marshall1980 bring them with her? Also, if we want to do a first dance, father/daughter and mother/son dance, what would you recommend. I agree with your assessment of the disco, my FI and I went into it for a short time when we went down in January.

  6. We are going to end up paying $330 for about a 20 to 30 minute video. I'm guessing it will be closer to 20 minutes, and it will be just of the ceremony. It will be worth it (I hope), becuase we have a lot of family who cannot make it to Jamaica. And, we plan to play it at our AHR. Given I hate being videotaped, I probably will watch it only once - just to see what it is like

  7. He doesn't have anything in his hands. They are just in front of him.

They outlawed them in PA several years ago out of concern what they would do to the ecosystem if they were ever released into the environment. This is kind of bogus, and this argument has been made. They naturally hibernate in the winter, and the domesticated ones do not have the instinct to build up the body fat necessary to survive hibernation, so they would die once winter hit. Pets do not go into hibernation becuase people's homes do not get cold enough...or the owner's use heat lamps to help keep them warm.

  8. You can also find a lot of his information at the following website:

If you scroll to the bottom of any page, you will see "DOWNLOAD". If you click on this it will take you to a page where you can download pricing infomration, FAQ information and the confirmation sheet that you need to send him.

He directed me to this site when I contacted him to arrange video services for our wedding.

  9. I just received my custom cake topper from Keren (mudcards) on Etsy. I know I have seen that others have also ordered toppers from her. She really does amazing work, and I'm thrilled with mine. smile29.gif

But, it requires some explaination - when I met my FI he had a pet hedgehog and got me one for Christmas two years later. His was the traditional coloring for an African Pigmy Hedgehog (a brown/black coloring). Mine, on the other hand, was an albino. So, she was all white with a pink nose and pink eyes. Unfortunately, they both suffered from different medical complications and died several years ago. But, we loved having them as pets and would have anohter, but they are now illegal to own in PA. So, I wanted to incorporate this into our wedding becuase it is something very unique to us. So...here is the cake topper she made for us.

  10. Okay...I thought some of my guests were idiots. We have them responding to both the DW and AHR, and I did not think it was hard:

Please respond by May 29, 2009

Wedding at Riu Montego Bay on June 19, 2009

Celebration at Columbia Station on July 25, 2009

    M___________

    _____ Will attend

    _____ Unable to attend

I didn't think this would be difficult. Well, was I wrong - people are saying that they are coming to Jamaica and not the AHR, when it is the opposite. I have people filling out only half of the RSVP (DW or AHR) and they did not realize they had to fill out the rest of it. The best was a good friend who wrote his name under Jamaica but checked able to attend under the AHR.

BUT...at least they have all put thier names on it. Actually, the funniest part is it is mostly my FI's friends and family.
