Hi Andi, The ceremony will be in the atrium area of Casa Velas, the cocktail hour will be by the pool and the reception will be at the private beach club. I am soooo excited! We have hired Incredible Weddings for the event design and planning and so far things have been really easy. I am hiring Paulina for photography. I am a little worried about the cost of rooms for my guests but Im sure it will all work out. Velas Vallarta is right there and the marriott is across the street.

I think you should take a look at Trip Advisorc.com and read some of the reviews there. I was considering that resort as well but I decided against it b/c: -The resort seemed TOO big (but you can fix this by making sure they put your guests all in the same area) -The resort is built on a steep hill and it seems as if people have had accidents walking up and down the stairs (I couldn't risk this b/c my 80 year old grandparents will be attending) -I also read something about a serious bug problem (mosquitos and flies). Check to see if this is a problem in Feb. I know the resort is offering amazing deals to brides right now (which is great), I was tempted to pick the westin in cabo as a location but decided to go with PV. Just be sure to do your homework to make sure you are making the best decision for your event.

It's sad to hear that the planner was not on the ball. Thats what you pay her for! She should have been more accommodating. I'm happy to hear that despite her BAD attitude you still had a great day

I'm going to have the cut off date be one month before the event - which is when the final deposit is due. Your date might be tougher b/c its right after the holidays. People will need to manage their finances and plan for the trip. You may want to have your cut off date be 2 months before your event to avoid last minute cancellations for people who may not have enough money after the holidays?
