The folks who aren't staying at Casa Velas are going to stay at the Marriott (non all inclusive) which is behind Casa Velas. Like I said in the end I think they will end up spending the same amount of money but I have already mentioned this politely once so thats all I can do.

Woo-hooooooooo! Love that place! A little bummed that some of my guests will not be able to stay there (b/c of the cost) BUT I totally understand, the economy sucks right now. The thing is I dont think they realize they are going to end up spending close to the same amount after they add up all of their drinks, snacks and meals.

wow, I didn't even think about that (the tipping!), I just assumed there weren't any bills (except when you check out). Thanks for letting me know...I will probably include that info on the welcome itinerary.

Thats great advice! I will definitely tell them ahead of time to please refrain from bothering my guests. Thats the last thing people want to deal with after traveling all day especially since that place isn't cheap!

In the first floor you will find the restaurant with International cuisine, features pastas, pizzas, sushi, meat and sea food on its menu; besides, a cava with more than 800 wine. Deck, is a place with an independent bar, with traditional beverages and cocktails. In the second floor is the Lounge with DJ music, view to the Malecón and International cocktail drinks. The deck and part of the restaurant is an outdoor area. La bodeguita del medio restaurant-bar. Ocean view. Cuban music. Address: Paseo Diaz Ordaz 858, Dowtown La Bodeguita del Medio This authentic Cuban restaurant and bar is known for its casual energy, terrific live Cuban music, and mojitos. It is a branch of the original Bodeguita in Havana and has a small souvenir shop that sells Cuban cigars, rum, and other items. The downstairs has large wooden windows that open to the malecón.

Jamie, it was hard to read about all of the stressful moments associated with your event, it made me sad. I am so sorry all of this happened!!!!! The good news is it sounds like vacation portion of the trip was great! Also, you spent your special day with close family and friends and it's sounds like everyone chipped in to help which is awesome. Congrats!!!

I am having my wedding at Casa Velas in April. I have visited the property and I love it! The grounds are beautiful!!!! They have a shuttle that takes you to the private beach club and I have heard from other you never have to wait for the shuttle. I also heard the food is amazing. I too was thinking about Grand Velas but the prices weren't within my budget (for the wedding). I have been to both places but Im a huge fan of PV. Everything mentioned previously is True! There is only one swimable beach in Cabo which is why I decided to choose PV even though Cabo would have been easier for my family to get to (they are from LA). I know my east coast friends would have been pissed if they weren't going to be able to swim in the ocean. There are great restaurants in both places but PV has more of a selection in different locations (in the hills, on the beach, etc.). I researched hotels in both locations (when I was trying to make my decision) and I familiar with many of the hotels in Cabo so let me know if you need help. A friend of mine attended an awesome wedding at the Sheraton Hacienda in Cabo and I remember the pricing being very reasonable. If you need help let me know, I will try not to be biased.

Hi There, Im getting married at Casa Velas which is in the Grand Velas family of hotels. You need to get your rate from the hotel and then also work your wedding planners for the design aspects. I actually got a rate from Grand Velas 8 months ago, I will try to find it for you. It was very pricey so we decided to go with the next best thing which is Casa Velas. Im not sure if DD does weddings on that property though. You may want to check with them to see where they work and where they don't work.
