Hi There, Sorry its taken me so long to respond. I'm not sure how CV will do without having an outside planner to plan everything. I can say that they planned my cocktail party (2 days before the wedding) and they did a great job - everything looked really good!!! For my wedding my planners found my florist, my DJ, my fire dancers, my rentals (chairs, tables, dancefloor, etc) so again, I'm not sure if the hotel has the same contacts. Will they let you hire someone to take care of the event design (florists, etc)?

PV is VERY safe. All of the issues are happening in the border towns and there have been some issues in Acapulco. Remember Mexico is a BIG place, no kidnappings or serious crime in happening in PV. I had my wedding there on April 9th. 69 people flew in from all over and everyone had a blast. My friends and family left the resort a few times to go into town and explore. It's very very safe and I cant wait to go back. I was a little worried when I started planning my wedding over a year ago but having been there twice I can honestly say you have nothing to be worried about.

Hi Ladies, My wedding was on April 9th in Puerto Vallarta at the Casa Velas Hotel's private beach club. Vallarta Incredible Weddings and Events designed my event and handled my ordering my rentals, entertainment, etc. Here are some non-professional pics, cant wait to get the professional ones from the photographer. My wedding was a blast!!!!!!!! KODAK Gallery | Photo Merchandise

Hi All, I wanted to write a quick review about my fabulous wedding at the Casa Velas Hotel Beach Club, there is so much I want to say but I will do my best to keep it from being too long. Hotel -This hotel is FANTASTIC!!!! All inclusive luxury! The food is amazing the drinks were top shelf and the rooms were really nice. The staff makes you feel like family and they are there to cater to your every need! We had 69 people attend our wedding and most of them stayed at Casa Velas, no one wanted to leave and everyone said the money they paid to stay there was totally worth it. I had a Thursday night cocktail party at Casa Velas and the set up blew me away!!!!!! It was so sophisticated and nice. Honestly when it was time to leave I wasnt ready to come home. They really bent over backwards to make all of my events special. Wedding -My ceremony and reception was at the Casa Velas hotel private beach club. We hired Vallarta Incredible Weddings and Events to stylize the event, handle our rentals and book entertainment (DJ, Cigar Roller and Fire Dancers). Those women are AMAZINGLY TALENTED! Tamara, Patty and Lucy are professionals who take wedding planning VERY seriously. The design elements blew everyone away, they completely transformed the beach club and it exceeded my expectations. They answered my many many emails and took all of my phone calls throughout the planning process. I don't know how I will ever repay them for all of the hard work and stylish ideas. All of my guests are still talking about how beautiful everything was and they said it was the best wedding ever - I have to agree with them. The food at my wedding was awesome! We had a sophisticated buffet that included grills and lots of yummy food options. My guests were able to grab steaks and fish fresh off the grill. Casa Velas really pulled out all of the stops for this. My cocktail hour food and reception food was GREAT! Maracas - My maracas came from the talented Mishka. My guests are still talking about them and I cant stop looking at the ones we brought home. Photographer - We hired Paulina for the wedding day and our dinner after the wedding day at Daiquiri Dicks. I don't have her pictures yet but I can say she was great to work with. She put up with me having a mini meltdown the day of and she put up with all of my demanding family members. Here are some unprofessional shots on Kodak, when I get professional ones from Paulina I will post those: KODAK Gallery | Photo Merchandise

Has anyone gotten their pictures back from Paulina? Just curious to see if there are new ones. -
I like both options and I actually considered Villa Estancia before picking Casa Velas. I do know that Villa Estancia has an all inclusive option and its reasonable. You may want to check it out! We were close to picking Villa Estancia b/c I have stayed there and REALLY liked it but ultimately we decided to pick CV to be closer to town and we wanted to go with a smaller boutique style hotel.

Vdaybride's Dreams Los Cabos Wedding Review!! LONG
weddinggirl72 replied to vdaybride's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Love love love your review! Thanks for posting it. Oh and PS Im completely stressed about what to do with my hair being that I too am an African American bride and am worried that the stylist will not know what to do! I hope the stylists in Puerto Vallarta are as good as yours was! -
I love where you are getting married - so pretty! Have you looked at Casa Isabel? Its located up in the hills and they have a casual bar with a view. There is also Hacienda De Alemana, casual hotel restaurant that has a garden feel. I am having my welcome dinner at Daiquiri Dicks, thats also another option.

When we were sending out our invitations we had two lists, one of people who we KNEW would come and one that was just like an announcement list. Well the interesting thing is there have been some people who we knew would come but it turns out they cant (b/c pregnancies, job stuff, financial, etc) and some people who knew wouldn't come but it turns out they are coming! It helped us to have two mailings, as some people sent in No's or called to tell us no we were able to mail out additional invitations (obviously you cant do this to people in the same social circle). If my fiance's relatives turned in a no then I would then send an invitation to one of my cousins. There is no set formula for destination weddings so we had to wing it...I hope this helps...
