I received the information package by email but the pricing is a little confusing & contradicting. Still waiting to hear back the actual additional fees involved in a private reception at Don Juio's, it seems really expensive to do the seated dinner with open bar & appretizers not sure it's worth it. I'm second thinking my venue since so many others have said you can still have dinner in the steak house terrace and it's pretty private. Dilema! Hope all your planning is going well, looking forward to your future review. Tina hey Tina, I have done the majority of the planning so far. I just contacted Erika on my own and told her what I wanted! We are having a beach ceremony at 4pm (me and my fiance used to work on cruise ships and our old cruise ship that we met on will be docked until 4.30pm so we chose a ceremony time where the ship will be in the background), dinner is at 6pm and we are having the English Patio (I am from England so I thought it was appropriate!). We have it 6-10.30pm and have dinner and dancing there, I have to rent the DJ too! Then after that we may go the disco or just go to where they do all the shows, apparently the bars there stay open until about midnight! With the English patio, to keep cost down, we are ordering from the Steakhouse menu so I don't have to pay a per person price, just the rental fee. I have booked Suzanne Morales for all my Girls hair and make-up, it is a little pricey and off the hotel complex but I have heard wonderful things!

Thanks for the help!! hi! The steakhouse Terrace is semi private, there may be other guests on the terrace, there may not, not sure who would want to sit with a Wedding party though! IT doesn't cost extra, you just order off the menu. There was one review that had pictures of the Terrace, just search this website. The Disco is $500 and it includes the bar and DJ, I was also going to rent the disco from 8pm-11pm but I was a bit concerned when I heard that it smells really bad, like vomit! I'm going to wait until I get down there and see it for myself, if it is something a bit of frebreeze can fix that I'm sorted! Most people who have had the steakhouse, so I have heard, have not had a problem with privacy. I think the review may be by Sandra C. Carly x

  4. Ashlie I found you! How funny, thanks for the review, it's lots of help!!
  5. Hi Ladies, Does anyone happen to have any pictures of the English Patio? I am considering having the reception there and I have no idea what it looks like!
  6. Well that sounds lovely! Shame I'm a long way from London! We still want to see pictures though! How about Cabo for your honeymoon?

I will never book with them again after this that's for sure! I called Sunquest customer service and they told me over the phone so not sure why they wouldn't give you any information! Fingers crossed for you!

I called our travel agent and expect to hear from her tomorrow...crap!!! It is nothing to do with H1N1, the only issue I know of is out of Toronto. It is due to the economy and lack of market interest, basically, they can't fill the planes! So they are not flying to Cabo for the summer and fall and resuming in November. I was furious! The only way we found out was through one of our friends who actually phoned Sunquest to try and book! We got no phone call, letter, nothing. My travel agent hadn't even been notified, she had to call them! So we are booking through expedia.ca, the only positive thing is it is $300 pp cheaper! No wonder they can't fill their planes!
  10. Hi Girls, Don't mean to panic you all, but, I just got a call from my travel agent and our trip has been cancelled. I'm booked with Sunquest, we booked back in January and apparently they are not flying to Mexico until November 2nd. So stupid, can't believe it! So, we are having now to book our flight and hotel seperately, probably have to fly to the States and then to Cabo. If you haven't heard anything yet, you might want to call your travel agent and check! We are getting married October 17th, anything after November 2nd should be fine! Carly

Thank you! Jessica Hi Jessica! From what I understand from other Brides and visitors to the Riu Santa Fe, the disco isn't that popular so even at 11pm no body comes in. Everyone usually goes into town, so you can probably have it all to yourself all night! That's waht I am doing anyway!
  12. Hey Mineaux! So glad everything worked out, it looked amazing! Blue is my colour too! You didn't happen to leave your chair sashes did you? I was hoping to rent the disco, I wonder if there is any way to remove the puke smell? Frebreeze may be?? Great tip about wine, will definitely do that! I'm sure I have more questions if that's okay! Carly x
  13. That's great Kelly, thanks! Can't wait for your review Mineaux, hope you had a blast!

Is everything going well with your Wedding plans? My travel agent told me yesterday that Mexico is shut down until June. All travellers are being sent to Cuba instead, is this the case with your Wedding? If so, our thoughts are with you! You must be going out of your mind! It will all work out though!
  15. By the way, I got some great Welcome bags from Toronto. It's a company called stitchy lizard, they are a woven linen and they are waterproof so would make great beach bags, and they are a good size, easy to take down! Minimum order is 50 and without any printing on it they were $6CAD each! They have lots of other bags available but these were the cheapest on there! Okay, enough posts for now!
  16. Hi Girls! I have a question for you all regarding the music during the ceremony. How do they play the music when you walk down the ailse, is it a speaker system or a boom box? Do you still play music as the ceremony continues or does it stop once you get to the alter? Trying to figure out whether I'm fine with that or I want musicians. Thanks Girls!
  17. That's great! Thanks so much! What flavour would the white cake be?
  18. Hi Em, it looked amazing! I loved your hair and you had the perfect dress for a beach wedding! If you don't mind, I have a few questions for you, I know you must be busy!!! -What time was your ceremony at? -Where did you have your reception? Was the food good? -What did you all do after dinner? -What upgrades/extras did you do on top of the Royal package? Thanks so much! Take your time! Carly

  20. Quick question for the Canadians...Anything we have to do when we get back to register the marriage in Canada?
  21. Do you know anyone who has had the Carrot cake?
  22. Your pics are lovely! I get married there in October and I would love to see pictures of dinner and the disco if you have time! They are the only areas I haven't seen pictures of! My email address is [email protected]. Thank you so much!!! Carly x
  23. Jessica, truely amazing! I loved your hair! Where did you get it done?

I have been told by Erika that they do not allow outside photographers, only the photographer the resort provides. After reading numerous reviews on this site, I have emailed Erika and advised her that I know they have allowed this in the past, so I am waiting to hear back from her, to see what the outcome is. Did anyone run into these kind of problems before? Amy There is a previous post with a link to the photographer that the hotel uses and they aren't half bad!!!
  25. Hi! Not many guests have booked yet but myself and my fiance booked about a month ago and we are paying $1548 inclusive from Toronto. I'm not sure if prices have gone up right now as even on line they are more than that and you usually always pay more through an agent. I'm sure they will drop though! I just looked on travelocity.ca, if you build your own package it comes out to $1487 CAD (the price is $1090 USD, for some reason they display the price in USD). It is up and down all the time, the best thing to do is for your guests to wait a bit but make sure they book before a certain time. I gave my guests until August to book their trip!
