  1. Thanks for the great comments - I ended up making 15 of these bags - 1 per couple or single traveler. Unfortunately I overbought, so I will be posting some of my extras for sale once everything is over! Cost...I probably have about $20 in each one - the most expensive items were the photo albums - about $5 and the Pashminas $4. I was originally only going to give the photo albums, but I kept finding more ideas. Thanks again for all the positive comments!

  3. I was trying to figure out how to tie in the destination wedding/travel theme into my AHR since most people attending the AHR won't be attending the destination wedding - here were a couple of my ideas... Placecards - I will use luggage tags that I got from Michaels and use business cards printed by VistaPrint which shows the name and table number (that way people can remove the business card and use the luggage tag on a future trip!) I'm thinking of having the tags hanging on a white board that has a banner saying.."Now Boarding" - perhaps this is a little cheesey but I can't help myself! I'll have to post pictures once it's done Table Numbers - We love to travel so I've gone through our pictures and have edited pictures of places we've travel to show the table numbers. The pictures will be in black frames on black easels that I was able to get at the Christmas Tree Shop.
  4. With just a few weeks to go, I've finished my fans for the ceremony and all of the labels for my OOT bags - Here's how it came out. I also want to thank all the BDW brides who continue to amaze me with their creativity!! The last items on my DIY list are the Welcome brochures and menus!
  5. With a couple of weeks to go - my OOT bags are finally done! Thank you to all the BDW brides who have posted their great ideas and templates! I have included the following in the bags: - Pashmina - "Wedding Weekend Survival Kit" - basically first aid kit with Tylenol and Pepto Bismol along with Purell, stain wipes, and chapstick - Photo Frame picture album with pictures of the church and hotel in the album - Spanish for Dummies - Tissues - Playing Cards - Notepad w/ Pen - On the OOT bag tag, we included the 2009 Puerto Rico quarter as well! - I plan to include a few brochures of things to do in PR as well but I will include those when I get down there. For the wedding favors at the dinner reception, we will be giving our guests 2 bacardi rum nips. I had a great time putting these together and have realized I actually have a "creative" side!

  7. After I saw your post - I went to the Coach factory store and was able to get 4 of them at 29.99 each which was great - I got 3 pink for my bridesmaids and 1 blue one for myself! Thanks for posting!
  8. Thanks for posting this - I've decided to use the luggage tags as my placecard holders - I'm still trying to get my hands on enough of the luggage tags - I just need 30 more packages of tags! I also got the playing cards for .60 each and little pen and notebook sets for .60 - great buys!

I just read the initial contract from moon palace in cancun and it states that "Catholic weddings in Mexico are not legally binding. All couples must be civilly married prior to the Catholic ceremony. Please inform your wedding coordinator if you are interested in one of our civil wedding packages. Additional charges may apply" Have you all heard anything about this for DR or PR? The ceremony in Puerto Rico is legal and so we're not having a civil ceremony prior to our wedding in PR. PR has a bunch of requirements - i.e. certified blood tests, marriage license, etc.

Thanks for the comments - so far I've gotten great feedback from the guests as well! the metallic cardstock I used was from Michaels - I believe "The Paper Company" is the brand - At Michaels, I spoke with the store manager and you can ask them to do a special order ( I had to do this with the brown mulberry cardstock I used for the jackets). When I did the special order, they were having a sale 30% off on the cardstock so I was able to get that price for the special order quantity. One warning on the metallic cardstock - it was a pain to use shape punchers on! Let me know if you have any other questions.
  14. I'm getting married in San Juan, Puerto Rico and having a Catholic ceremony at the Old San Juan Cathedral - the church is beautiful -

  16. Here is a link to the ebay seller - for anyone interested. The price depends on the exchange rate. Twinkling 2 Starfish Austria Crystal Necklace - eBay (item 120428263080 end time Jul-30-09 14:18:00 PDT)
  17. That's great news! I've been to St. Lucia a couple of times on cruises and always want to plan a vacation there - but the whole connecting makes the flight like 6-8 hours...which usually makes me pick a different destination! Thanks again for sharing this info!

Jewellery - Pendants - Holly Double Pendant
  20. I purchased 3 of these starfish necklaces for my bridesmaids, but decided on different jewelry for them. The necklace is a double stranded necklace and is similar to the Swarovski Holly Starfish Necklace on the Swarovski website. The metal type is white gold plated and has sparkling crystals on the starfish. The long chain is 17" long with a 2" Extender and Short Chain 15" Long With 2" Extender. Each necklace comes with a gift box as shown. I would like to sell all 3 for $39 which is what I paid for them. Shipping will be additional and I would anticipate US priority mail shipping will be around $5. Please PM me if you are interested and I can send a PayPal invoice - thanks!
  21. First I want to thank all the BDW DIY who inspired me to try this project! I'm not exactly crafty - so I wasn't sure whether I was up to the challenge, but with all the great pictures posted by others along with the templates - I had a great time coming up with the invite. I haven't figured out the cost yet to make these but it has to be cheaper than if I would have paid someone else to do it! This is the first time I'm trying to post pictures - so I hope it works!
  22. We just registered last weeked at Macy's and Bed, Bath, and Beyond!
  23. Great link! I bought the fans a couple of months ago, but wasn't sure what to do with them!
  24. These are great and have inspired me! One question - on the ppt. file, how do those fit on the first aid kit? Did you have to re-format to fit the J&J first aid kit?
