I just wanted to say thanks for all of this helpful information in one place...wow! I was wondering if the people who are getting married at the Colonial...are any of you staying at the Elegance? I just thought maybe it would be nicer to stay at the Elegance and have everyone else at the Colonial so we could have some priate time...any one have thoughts/suggestions on this? I think my brain is about to explode lol...we are also looking at Dreams but the Majestic is also one of my top choices

Yes that does help thanks! I am looking at Dreams because they have a free package and the Majestic doesn't...its both of our second wedding and we don't want anything too extravagant. Funny how you said the people who complained didnt even come cause originally we were going to go somewhere with just us two and then everyone else decided they wanted to come too. So now I have to pick a resort that I like and think everyone else will like too. Ultimately, I know its my decision but its so hard to pick!!!

The Columbia restaurant is at the St. Pete pier and has an awesome view of the water and good food too! Not formal but has a nice atmosphere

There is a TON of info about Jamaica resorts on here. A very popular hotel is Riu Ocho Rios...they are big and could definitely handle a large wedding....just do a search and your brain will be overloaded:) Good luck!

I agree with everyone else...just try to relax and have no worries! After all, less stress is probably one of the reasons you chose a DW, right? The hotel won't have more weddings than they can handle...you have to put your trust in them or you will freak out lol. Good luck:)

I'm still in the stage of trying to pick a rsort myself lol...however, I have checked out the reviews on this forum of the different resorts that brides have chosen as well as read a TON of thr threads from what destinations I was looking at. Also check some travel sites to see what the prices are and what fits in your budget. Hope this helps! Good luck:)

I have been to both and they are both beautiful. Mexico has more resorts to choose from but the Bahamas is closer and no language barrier. I am not sure about Mexico but I know some Spanish speaking countries (Punta Cana) perform the ceremony in Spanish and someones translates....obviously in the Bahamas, the ceremony would be in English. Also, if you have a budget, that is also something to consider..some resorts offer free wedding package if you book enough rooms, etc etc. I love the Bahamas and have been there 6 times but am picking a different destination for the wedding because within our budget, there is not a hotel that meets all of our needs. Congrats on being newly engaged!! I am also looking at Dreams in Punta Cana but haven't been in touch with the WC yet....there is a TON of info on this site including reviews etc about that resort. The price is defintely right there:) Do a search of the thread and will have a ton of info..good luck with everything and keep us updated!

Hello there and good luck with your planning. Many brides on here have been married in Punta Cana and can offer you tons of information. I too am paying for my wedding...its my second so we dont want to have anything too extravagant. Punta Cana has awesome prices and is beautiful so it has become one of my favorites lol.
