My biggest stress factor is basically putting the wedding in my coordinator's hands. I'm anal & like to do everything myself, & emailing someone all the time & waiting & waiting & waiting for responses really stresses me out. I wish I could just walk over to the resort to set everything up.

That's what me & FI are doing. We're starting out dancing to At Last, but haven't chosen a Latin dance to switch to. I'm planning on re-watching Dirty Dancing Havana Nights this weekend to get some ideas!

They're hot, and you can wear them over and over again! Definitely splurge. It's not like they're some weird color or material that'll make them not worth the price. Plus, you'll feel so much better on your wedding day.

Wow, so funny to have just seen this thread--I actually signed on today after a few weeks of stress, posted on a thread, looked at my siggy, and realized it's 7 months and 29 days away... 7 months!!! I mean, I know it's closer to 8 but it feels like time is just flying! Good luck on all your planning!

I'm having a reception on the beach. Set-ups that I've seen have looked beautiful and romantic. Dancing under the stars, with the waves crashing near by, and not having to wear heels sounds good to me =) I guess it depends on what you feel comfortable with. Ask your coordinator about the wind situation, & I've heard of brides putting up a shoe table for guests to leave their shoes..

Since you're having appetizers before the dinner, not having a cocktail hour should be okay. Personally, I'm a fan but it's b/c every wedding I've been to has cocktail hour before the ceremony. Since you're doing it right before dinner & serving wine with dinner, though, it should be fine & you'll be saving a lot. A lot of brides on here skip the cocktail hour completely.

I highly, highly, highly recommend using her for your invites! She's great to deal w/, listens to your input, gives advice, & is an absolute sweetheart. She's also reasonably priced. I was looking for the perfect invites FOREVER! I checked out tons of sites & stores & kept seeing the same shit for unreasonable prices.
