Sandos Playacar Brides!
JodJ replied to SBertling's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Haha I just thought of another question. What did you and your family and friends do after your reception? Was there a night club there that everyone could go to go dance? -

We have about 70 people that are coming and if the reception is just in one of their restaurants how is it going to accommodate all of us? I can't believe they charge $18 per person for open bar and $39 for food when it's an all-inclusive. AARGH!!! Bicky11- I have a question for you since you were just at Sandos. I noticed recently from the pictures on tripadviser.com that the beach seems to have erroded away. How was it when you were there? It seems that they had to put a bunch more sandbags out and that the beach was much shorter. What did you think of it? -

I finally found my bridesmaid dresses! They were pretty expensive ($260 with rushed shipping and tax) but at least I got them. Yahh! -

Hi Jodi! The travel agent will send you any kind of information that you need- you just need to know what to ask for. I say a video of the resort on utube, I wasnt able to look at it because I am at work right now and it is blocked There is a video of a wedding at the resort earlier on in this thread though. You can definatly have your ceremony on the beach, and you can also have your reception on the beach or near the pool for an extra cost (500 USD). It is free to have it at one of the restaurants. Happy Planning! -
I think I like you brown better. Have you thought of doing blonde highlights in your hair? If you plan to have your hair curly during your wedding, apprently the curls stand out much more if they have highlights. And then you can have it both ways! I have also been both blonde and brown and I plan to get highlights for the wedding. I hope this helps, good luck!

Sandos Playacar Brides!

I was also wondering about what to do after the ceremony. Origionally we were hoping to have a private dinner and reception by the beach or the pool, but we do not have enough people (40 required). I am hoping that there is somewhere we can hang out and have some drinks before going out dancing. Was there a disco at the resort? What did you and your guests do after the wedding? -

Thanks for the great information SBertling! I am glad everything turned out great for you. I have a few extra questions: - Was the music at the ceremony very loud- did they have a DVD player out on the beach?- I was at a wedding in Porta Vallarta a few years ago and the music was coming from the resort and we could barely hear it! - What time did you have your reception at? I know sunset is a good time. - Did you get a video done by any chance? We are hoping to use the hotel's videography service. Thanks so much for your help! I look forward to seeing your pictures! -
What day of the week are you getting married in Mexico?
JodJ replied to iceapple's topic in Other areas of Mexico Weddings
We are having our wedding on friday. Basically we did not have a choice because we arrive on saturday, and we are required to be in Mexico for 3 buisness days before the day. The thrusday was already taken so we had to choose friday. Its the last day of our trip which is kind of a bummer, so hopefully our guests flights home do not leave too early in the morning! -

Barcelo ANYONE?
JodJ replied to Kamerrence's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
The gazebo is right in the middle of the resort (not really private). I am not sure what 'the grill' is.... one of the restaurants? I am not sure if it is near there. It is close to a few of the restaurants and the buffets. I think I have a picture of it somewhere if you would like to see it. Let me Know! -

Does anyone that is from Canada know about the legalization of documents for getting Married at Sandos (eg, passports, birth certificates)? I know that different resorts have different requirements. I have emailed the wedding coordinator 3 times about this and she has not provided me with a clear answer. It appears that we do not, but I would like to be clear about it.
