Hey everyone! I am wondering if there are any brides that would be willing to share a photographer in Punta Cana between the Dates of June 8th and June 11th. I know this is very last minute but I just had my wedding cancelled in Mexico. I have a few photographers in mind so let me know if you are interested!

Thanks for this great thread! I just found out that my wedding has been cancelled in Mexico. We have decided to hold it at the Majestic Elegance Resort if they have a day available for our wedding. All this information has made my planning process much easier thank you so much! Soon I will be adding my date, sometime between June 8th and June 11th

We have decided on the Dominican Republic. We are going to stay at Majestic Elegance Punta Cana. It is an amazing resort so we are pretty happy. The worry is starting to be lifted off of my shoulders!

We are going to reroute our wedding to either the Dominican Republic, Jamaica or Cuba. We are just waiting for some information from Signiture Vacations to make a final decision. I am looking on the bright side though, their beaches are amazing over there. Its just too bad I have spend soo much time researching resorts and picking out my photographer, ect. It was such a waste of time now.

We are also going to sleep in separate beds. I am going to spend the night with my bridesmaids. I hope they don't keep me up too late!

Hey everyone, I just found out that my wedding in Mexico is cancelled. Unfortunatly we have to choose an alternative destination. We have the choice of Jamaica, Cuba or the Dominican Republic. I heard the Dominican is dirty outside of the resorts and that they do not have a garbage collector system so people throw their garbage everywhere. Also that some resorts do not let you leave their resort area. This area is so beautiful though! Any preferences or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as we have little time. One month till we are suppose to leave! Thank-you so much for any comments you have!

Lincoln & Lori- Too bad you two weren't planning on photographing down there. We would definatly hire you- unfortunately we had to cancel. So disappointing!

Well girls it looks like I will not be getting married at Sandos anymore Our trip/flight was cancelled due to the Swine flu!! I did not thing this was going to happen because things were dying down! What a bummer! Good luck with your weddings!!

Wow we thought this whole thing was gonig to blow over! It seem to be dying down. Then I get a call from my travel agent today saying that our flight/trip is cancelled!!! Now we have to relocate to the Dominican, Cuba, or Jamaica!!!! So annoying!

Ohhh too bad we wont cross paths. We are staying at Sandos until June 14th, then we are going over to El Dorado Royale for our honeymoon. A photo booth sounds great! We are having a reception here too. Its like paying and planning for 2 weddings!

Diana are you planning on having an arch or a canopy? Are you using the photographer at the resort? I think we are going to go with the canopy potentially with flowers. We are also brining in a photographer (moments that matter photography). I am getting so excited now that we know (pretty sure) that we are going to the Mayan. One month away!

I got a email from Lupita the other day and she said that no one has contracted the Swine flu at Sandos. She also said that no weddings have been cancelled this week. It sounds like it is all dying down. I have a month till my wedding so I am not very worried anymore. We have looked a few other destinations (Jamaica, Dominican, Cuba) just in case, but I do not think it will come to that. Diana- sorry it took me so long to respond. I normally get emails when people post on this threat but I haven't been. My travel company is Signiture Vacations. Due to the Swine flu they created trips to the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Jamaica so that people could change their destinations if they would like. I think you will be fine for June 26th I have some answers to questions as well: - Lupita sent me the flower cataloge for Sandos Playacar Beach Resort. I will try and figure out how to upload them onto here. You can also send me a PM with your email and I can send them to you. I had similar questions to you ladies. Here is the answers I got from Lupita in my last email: 1. Is there an English judge available for our wedding date? - The legal ceremonies are performed in Spanish; but I always hire a translator ($40 usd paid in cash) 2. Are we allowed to say our own vows if we would like? - Yes you can say your own vows before the exchange of rings and before the signature, the judge always asks you if you want to say some words. 3. Would you be able to send me some pictures of flowers/bouquets that we would be able to choose from? I want bright pink lilies in my arrangements. - Yes of course, please find attached the flower catalogue...if you will choose tulips, orchids or calla lilies (specially bright pink lilies) I need to know at least two weeks prior and they are a little bit expensive, for the calla lilies it will be around $140 usd a round bride bouquet more less and the regular flowrs are $50 usd. 4. In terms of the archway and gazebos ($220 USD) does this include flowers? - The arch or gazebo with tulle does not include the flower medallions, each flower medallion will be extra charge $45 usd. 5. Do we need to let you know everything that that we would like for our wedding (e.g., flowers, archway, wedding package, ect.) beforehand or do we arrange that down there? - We can arrange all this details once you get here in our appointment. Unless you want a special color for the tulle I would ask you to tell me prior of if you need special flowers.¿ such as the calla lilies I hope this helps!

Is anyone getting married in the next few months? We are leaving June 7th. I am definatly a bit worried! They are postponing/changing trips leaving before June 2nd right now.

As of a few hours ago Noli Tours, Air Transat, Sunwing Vacations, Sunquest Vacations and Signature Vacations have postponed flights to Mexico until June 1st. Also Air Canada Vacations will not fly any of its charter vacation planes to Mexico until June 1st. We are leaving for our wedding on June 7th so we are just waiting to see what happens....

We ordered our ring online, it is a tungston as well. We havent got it yet but I dont think we will have any problems. They had sizing charts online that you can print out and pick out the size (band width), and once ordered they sent us sizing rings so that he could find his exact size.
