  1. Hi Amber! Welcome and good luck with your planning! I'm also getting married in Playa del Carmen, where in Playa del Carmen are you getting married?

  5. Emengeeroxx- Ok well I assume you want another woman's 3rd party opinion? You need to compromise a little on this. Although the invites are not important to you, they are to your bride. I assume like every other girl she has been dreaming of this day and wants everything to be perfect, including the invite. Should she spend a fortune on them? NO. But she should be able to find something she is happy with that you can agree to spend the money on. Are you guys DIY people? You could save a ton of money and get what you want doing it yourself. The invite sets the tone for the whole wedding, she just wants it to be perfect.
  6. Welcome and Congrats! Good luck with your planning!

  8. I was wondering if there was an answer to this? I want to change my username because I didn't realize what I would be using it for when I signed up. I have enough points but it would let me purchase it, saying I don't have enough points when I really do. Help please!
  9. Welcome and congrats! Good luck with all your planning!

  13. Welcome! Nothing wrong with early planning!
  14. #3 and 4 are best, I am not crazy about #1. Either love beautiful on you!
  15. By the way... to add to the comment about guests not realizing the love and effort we put into our STD's... I was at our Best Man's house this weekend and saw my STD on his coffee table under a dirty plate next to a pile of Dr. Pepper cans. I wanted to cry.

Duh, that's what cell phones and computers are for! So, we are putting in our counter offer today. I hate to feel like I'm "making" him do something, but really this has to get done... Kelly- Haven't heard any updates from you, how are things going with DH? I hope everything is going better.
  17. I am one of the lucky ones on here, my FI cooks every night for us and I fully plan to continue to let him! But.... I would never dream of asking him to make something else! If I want something different I say so and that I will gladly make it but then he usually offers to make it for me. I would never be so rude as to tell him to make me something different! So how did it go? Did he fall to his knees and apologize? lol
  18. Kate! Holy smokes you look amazing! I love your ceremony site, it was so beautiful. Love the flowers and your BM dresses too!

The Royal's wedding package seems to be more than some of the other hotels, but we love it and want to go there. But if everyone planned on coming (even half the people) then it might have gotten too much for our budget. Anyways... hardly anyone has been to the website and replied! grrrrrrrr! I'm taking that to mean that they probably aren't coming, so FI and I have decided that we will just go ahead with the Royal. So that is good! I love the whole set up there! We are tentatively confirmed for December 2, 2009. Now I guess I just have to put down the $300 deposit. I can't wait to hear all of your reports when you get back since there are quite a few of you ahead of me! Thanks for the vent! I completely understand!!! I sent out about 40 STD's and I referred to my website where people can RSVP etc. And although I didn't tell people I wanted to know now, I haven't really gotten any responses. I figured I would at least get phone calls from grandparents and aunts or something. No one is signing the guest book even! I am having my own pitty party these days. I keep telling myself that I knew going into this that I had to be okay with whoever and however many people came, even if it was just the two of us-because it was what I wanted. By the way, I paid my $300 with my bank card and due to the exchange rate I was only charged $277. Not much savings but an unexpected surprise. Also, it took them like a month to do the charge and I had to bug them with a few emails to get it done.

That is terrible! How could you be so mean to show him the goods and then go to sleep! LOL, poor guy! Sounds like something I would do! I can't participate in the poll but we plan too! (Obviously planning and doing are two different things, so we will see!)
  21. Ok so I have been anti-twilight for months now. I have a 13 year old step-daughter that lives breathes and sleeps by twilight...lol.. doesn't every young teen?! So I finally watched the movie the other day with her and I will admit that it was good but not obsession good. Well, I see why she loves it, if I were 13 again this would be thee movie. As she says, "it is the best movie ever, the movie of the century" (dripping with dramatic teen speak). So I think I am going to read the books, although I will have to find another copy, she is weridly protective of hers and I don't think she will let me borrow them, besides the fact that she reads them over and over again. So as soon as I track some down for cheap, I'll add my two cents. I do anticipate the book being better than the movie, since that is usually the case.
