2 words for you- F&%$ THEM!!! My FI's family is doing the same thing. This is his second marriage so nobosy really cares. The only person from his side is his Dad. We're only having about 12 people total (including ourselves) and the only people booked so far is my mom and step-dad. My dad is crying poverty, but can go out and golf twice a week and now my sister (MOH) may lose her job and she probably won't come either- which blows because A. she's my siser- and B. her husband is the best man. Sorry i didn't mean to make this about me- Hoepfully you see you are not the only one and i have decided that i don't care anymore- this day is about the bride and groom. screw everyone else. try to relax and not let any of the bull shit get to you. (i know it's hard) wine helps!! I wish you the best of luck with everything- try to stay positive!

I agree with the other girls- just tell your cousin flat out that you will have to pay for all these people- he may think because it's an all inclusive resort that it's no big deal. maybe he didn't even realize. WTF? People are such morons. I'm sure everything will work out for you- try not to stress too much- it's nothing a zanax and a glass of wine won't fix ;-)

Thanks for the info Sunita!! I have been debating sending an email to dreams or just waiting for someone to contact me. I have 2 months to go- but i don't really have any questions. so maybe i'll let the new girl get settled in first and bother her later- but this does make me feel a lot better!!!

We're just having my sister (MOH) and her husband (who happens to be my FI's Best friend) as the BM so it works out perfectly. The only thing is i have a brother too and i was feeling bad not having him be involved but he said as long as he can wear the same thing as the BM he was ok with that. He's nuts- but it made me feel better

We were oroginally planning and AHR- we both have big extended family but only our immediate families are coming to the DW. So we would have had about 100 people for an AHR, so after i started planning it, we realized we just don't have the money. This really, really upset me at first but it's sinking in now. I am thrilled to be having a DW. We didn't have an engagement party, and i'm not having a shower- pretty much my entire family is broke so I don't want to make any body break the bank for parties. I figure making them go to Mexico is enough! we'll probably have a BBQ/ pool party at the house over the summer.

Lucky-I've got the same kind of issues with my future SIL. (Well - i will have 2) One is fabulous- One is not. She and her husband aren't coming either- she's says she has no time off from work (she's a teacher so i know she gets a sh*% load of days) But whatever. I was upset about it at first, because it's mostly going to be my family at the DW. But my FI doesn't care- he says it's not about them it's about us and screw them if they don't want to come. She even had an issue with the date i chose for the AHR because it's a week before her daughters birthday and she wanted to have a party for her! Give me a break! Now i'm supposed to contact her before i make a move on everything? F*&^ that! Dont' worry- this is YOUR day and you're probably better off not having her and her negative energy there! Good luck!

We're getting all of that done by a lawyer. we're having a pre-nup too, so it's easier to have it all done at once. We're also shopping around for life insurance too. I'd much rather shop for new shoes or jewlery though- LMAO!!
