And if so, did Dreams provide a discount? Also love your TTD teaser photos - they are amazing! Thanks!! We didn't do a site visit - so I can't help you out there. I would definitely go through a TA, the costs were much lower and it was so much easier to keep track of everyone and making sure they got transport.

The ride to Dreams Tulum may be a little long for some of our elderly guests especially after a long flight. (Is it really 2 hours ride from CUN airport?) Really a bummer that Dreams RC didn't consider the privacy factor when they designed the resort. I really liked the contemporary, clean look of the resort. We need a kid-friendly resort so DRC was at the top of our list. Now we're not sure anymore, it seems like we are back to square one ... DT is about 90 minutes from the airport - which you're right, was a little much for my grandmother (there's not much to look at, etc.)... but overall I think it was fine. Everyone on our van just stopped for beer/snacks before we got started and the time flew by! We had all the transportation set up through our TA. DT is also SUPER kid-friendly, so you shouldn't worry about that. We were there over Thanksgiving so there were a lot of families/kids. I have heard nothing but good things about the Explorer's Club. To speak to DT's ambience - I will say it does not have the "sleek modern" look that some of these other chain resorts have... it is way more authentic and detailed than those (although still immaculate in terms of cleanliness). Our photogs loved the fact that it had all these great details and wasn't streamlined like other resorts they had been to in Cancun.

If this isnt happen ($20 menu) I also do not want to spend the extra money on additional pp 112 is alot to spend pp. Has anyone thought of having a dinner in one of the restaurants than having a private event for 3 hours? I know it takes away from the reception but it has crossed my mind? Anyone else having the same feelings? Mccrary- While I was there, we did see a "free option" reception at the World Cafe. There were about 30 pp in the party and they had 4 long tables set up in a square for them and the cake set up next to it, etc. I think it would definitely be something for people to look in to esp. since it sounds like they have cut out the $20pp restaurant menu option.

I may be selling it soon, so be on the look out

I actually feel bad that my guests will have to miss it! For anyone just planning, Mexican Party night is every Tuesday and Caribbean night is every Friday. Just an FYI! Cheri- We moved our reception to the Dolphin pool due to this reason... we thought the relax pool was a little too close to all the action. It ended up working out better--I liked the setup, the lighting, and the ambience (not to mention the bar and bathrooms are right there) of the Dolphin pool as compared to the end of the Relax pool. Just my opinion though!

Have they been used there before?? We just got married on Nov 28th and used DJ Dorremixx (he was great!) who brought cold fireworks (and they were pretty impressive) that went off at the end of our first dance. We didnt' even think about asking if it was "allowed" - and he's worked there a lot so I think they know his routine!

Hey ladies! I forgot to post one of my DIY projects (a stenciled parasol with our initial and wedding date) that I ended up really loving (and that my photogs loved photographing with). Here is the original thread that I got the idea and help from: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...parasols-3273/ I tried to buy one online and it was $55 + shipping! Yikes!

I found that phenomenal photogs in the States cost the same (even with travel, etc.) as some of the people you mentioned above-- and they would even be with you for the rehearsal dinner, wedding, and TTD. I did the same thing at first, but then I branched out to photogs outside of Mexico and I couldn't be happier with my photog =)

It all depends on what month your wedding is, and where, etc. because of travel costs and all that. Critsey is really good about getting back to you though, I'm sure you'll have an answer soon - sorry I couldn't help more than that =). Lance thought that the TTD/after session was awesome - he said it was one of his most favorite things about the whole wedding! I was totally surprised!

I do have one question- maybe I missed it somewhere on your thread, I'm sorry if I did! What menu option did you use? I haven't seen that menu in any of the other threads or on the Dreams website. Was it the gold or silver or?? Hey girl! It's okay - I didn't have it written in my planning thread. I used the Silver Menu- and as far as I know everything was great. The appetizers we had were amazing, definitely a hit - I'll make sure I include them in my review =)

Hey ladies! A quick word of advice-- if you are looking to use my templates, the background pics on the brochure (the seahorse, etc.) will not show up on your computer unless you go to dafont.com and download the font "SC by the Sea". Another font I used frequently on the brochure, menu and program is "MA Sexy" - its' the kind of funky cursive one. Sorry I didn't mention it before! Let me know if you have any other questions! -jo

If you still can't on a different computer PM me your email and we'll try it that way!

So no- if you "employ" some people to help you out, it takes no time at all!

We did it the day before - but they stay lit for like 2 weeks so its perfect!

Calling all November 2009 Brides!
jmb0902 replied to beachbride2009's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
So I love that all of you are posting your reviews and I just finished my Planning Thread! It is taking me FOREVER to get this stuff done, it literally took me 2 hours just for this! I know it won't help you much at this point, but there are some pics on here, and I know we love those! xoxo Jo http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...c-heavy-53018/ -

I hope that this is not a case of "you get what you pay for." I thought that mywedding.com was great - it had everything we needed. I spent a ton of time on mine too to make it just right and had no issues at all. Hope this helps!

Reception Set-Up: Place settings/Name Tags: I found the vases at Walmart for $1 and my Mom and I etched starfish on each one (you can't see it from the pic - etching set from Michael's). We filled them with 6 different color jellybeans Jelly Belly Candy Store - Candy, jelly beans, chocolate, gummy, licorice and more. and used lollipop sticks to attach the namecards to. Cake: Toppers are from Classic, Elegant Wedding Invitations | Rexcraft.com, I brought the ribbon from home. Lanterns: I bought 30 lanterns from Paper Lanterns, Party Supplies and Chinese Paper Lanterns - PaperLanternStore.com in white, blue, and green. We did LED throwies in them, one word of advice - use small binder clips for each throwie, if you only tape them they flicker and/or come loose and go out: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...anterns-37079/ Menus: (template attached) We also set up a table that had our guest book (a Mexico coffee table book), a memory frame (template attached) with pictures of loved ones not with us, and a 12" digital frame with pictures of friends and family at the wedding with us. Sorry I don't have pics of this yet! I think that's pretty much it - there is some stuff missing just because I can't find the pics... we don't have our pro pics back yet but I wanted to get this out. Thank you to all of you who made this possible - you're the best! Let me knwo if you have questions ladies! Love & Hugs, Jo =) MenuWord2.doc MemoryFrame.doc

Garter (and my something blue): www.letsdancegarters.com FG Attire: I found the tutu at Walmart (seriously!) that came with the headband. I bought a ballet leotard and added a flower pin equaling a super cute FG!! BM Attire: I picked the color and my BM's picked their own dresses... they are from VS and it worked out great, the colors were amazing! I had the BM's carry lime green parasols instead of flowers... Ceremony: I bought chair sashes (the cheapest I found: wedding linens direct home page), and blue/green tulle (Idea Ribbon- Wholesale organza bags Organza Ribbon Organza Bags wedding tulle accessories $.08 Each Start- POWERED BY WEB 2.0) for the beach set-up. We had stargazers lining the aisle as well. Ceremony program: (template attached): Thank you Starlitk for all your help! wedding_programvnolastnames.pub
