  1. We are going to mail out our pre travel brochures and luggage tags about a month prior to the wedding. I am still working on it, but it is definately a combination of all I have read here.
  2. I have been playing the same game with Keisha at BRB. I wanted a version of the ceremony knowing that it may vary depending on the officiant, but the basic version. She keeps telling me not to worry and bring anything I want to add and we can give it to him when we get there. Nice, but how do you make a program from that? So I am writing vows and the sand ceremony and bringing a reading about the importance of family and friends.
  3. While I realize your wedding is not at an all inclusive, staying at something like Beaches is actually a price friendly option because the price you are paying is including all of your food and such. THere is nothing saying that you have to have the wedding there because you are staying there right?
  4. I love this show, but it gets so hard at this point because each of them at this point are SOOO good that it is hard to see any of them go. Have you noticed this year that when they dance for their lives it is not as amazing as last season? Their performance with choeography is amazing, but some of those solos look improv and last ditch.
  5. Can I have the palm tree pens and anything left in flip flop world?
  6. Awesome! We had limited our guest list for our own expenses as well as making sure we had a valid reason to explain the cut off (keeping it small). Friends of my mom that have known me since childhood called me and said "Congrats, Hooray, Where is my invitation?" I explained that we were funding this ourselves and for that reason were keeping it small and limited. She informed me that she had watch me grow up and become who I was and she didn't care if she needed to pay for her costs of our reception etc... she was going to be there to celebrate the awesome occasion with people she considered family. What you don't realize is this is a single mother of 3 that is currently taken on a part time job so she could fund coming to our wedding. We obviously told her to make it out there and we would love to have her... but how touching.
  7. Welcome to the forum and congrats. The DR section and the Jamaica section will help. Are you a big group or small and what is your hope out of the experience... that really helps determine your decision.
  8. I think we ended up at Macy's of all places... bought exactly the style you are talking about. Bought similar shirts in Teal for GM from Perry Ellis outlet. I remember they had white and cream too.
  9. I love the long freshwater pearl ones (second link from the bottom) No necklace would be fine. If you wore one, I would wear an illusion style with similar beads... then it is not heavy looking. You will be gorgeous no matter what you choose. Let us know what you end up with.

Thanks everyone for the nice compliments and Holly... didn't I tell you? Your bags are in the mail.... umm... no... 36 was enough for me thanks
  11. Welcome and congrats to another Jamaica bride!

  13. Surgeries... hmmm... Wisdom teeth x 4 = That was when we discovered the servere allergy to codiene - lovely Sinus Surgery - Turbinatectomy x 2 Sinus Surgery - scar band removal from infection during healing from first surgery Sinus Surgery - Call it a cleaning Lip biopsy - Testing for Sjogrens (local) Lip Salavery gland abcess removal (the skin healed over one of the dissolvable stitches and abcessed) (local) Sinus Surgery - Should be final one... new doctor... 10 years later... major removal of scarring and turbinate bone malformation, polyp removal. I am hoping to stop there.
  14. We bought small canvas drawstring backpacks to use as our OOT bags (thought they would be awesome on the beach as totes that closed). They were pretty plain, so... we dressed them up a bit. My colors are Turquoise and Sand with accents of green. So we tie dyed the bags to match the water. It was a fun afternoon. We wanted more contrast after our first experiment so we used the darker to accent after dipping. It pays to have it be over 100 outside... easy quick dry One of the finished product after drying and washing Probably should have noticed the holes that were in my my gloves. Arg! Overall it was fun and made great bags for a cheap price!
  15. Spanx makes a set that is bike short length but comes all the way to the bra line on top. I just ordered them! So excited. My new best friend this summer is also something I have stolen from my fiance's med cabinet. It is called "Anti Monkey Butt" Powder!!! I kid you not, that is the real name. It is a mix of talc and calamine powder. It rocks! Apparently he was using it on his butt before long motorcycle rides... more info than I needed and way more than you needed. He said it is at Wal-Mart!
  16. I offered to supplement the cost of the dress with a gift of $50 instead of some little gift at the wedding... but we ended up finding a dress at Penny's for $59 with a coupon for $10 off, so instead I am going to buy her jewelry for the occasion.
