HELP! Where can I buy...
budgetjamaicabride replied to bearbunny's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
We got ours from Oriental Trading Company. They are smaller, but affordible was the name of the game. -
I had pet insurance for my dog when she was a puppy and I think it was Vet Pet Insurance. I kept it through her first year because it paid a huge portion on all of the puppy appointments, shots, and spaying. It also covered meds when she got sick. Once she was stable adult dog I let it lapse. It would come in handy again later in life when they get expensive again, but we discovered that Care Credit is taken by many specialists if you have to do anything major, so it works out. We had to have majuor surgery on my other dog when he broke his hip. Care Credit, something I had used for my own medical expenses allows you to pay over a period of 6 months to a year without interest.

Advice For Taking In A Stray!
budgetjamaicabride replied to BlissfulMsMiranda's topic in Random Thoughts
Good job Miranda... if nothing else, you can let the local animal shelter know you have him and send a picture. You hold him, keep him, and but if there is an owner that cares enough to look, they will call the shelter and they can contact you. Most times though... it sure sounds like he is not owned or not wanted. Good luck! -

I am a budget bride.... seriously budget... but I am willing to put in the leg work and time... I organized the cup purchase for over 500 cups in order to get what I wanted, bags, keychains, and such are from OTC, 30 sewing kits from ebay for 2.00, coupons for crystal light, free giveaways from advil and tums... get it? Put you mind to it and it is not about sacraficing.

I can not even fathom that it is my turn to do this. I have gotten so much from reading other planning thread and can not imagine now planning my wedding without BDW. I have used so much from here and hopefully contributed and provided for others... I will continue because I have so many people I now consider BDW friends. Ok... here goes: It started with a proposal on an airplane to Virginia to see family on Christmas night 2008. He did such a great job... included the airline staff, parents already knew, asked for my dad's blessing... you name it! Then STD magnets and info cards. The magnets are from Vistaprint of course and the cards we printed at home. Invitations - boarding passes by stylish scribe! I made the outer folders and reply card is from Vistaprint. My Dress My Flipflops - purchased from a BDW bride - ribbon added by friend. My Hair inspiration Hair Flower - white silk orchids, beads, wire, and a clear comb from michaels assembled by me more coming... lots more

Advice For Taking In A Stray!
budgetjamaicabride replied to BlissfulMsMiranda's topic in Random Thoughts
Sounds good miranda... glad he is coming near and probably won't need a trap. Probably just a towel and cat carrier to get him there. A can of freshly opened tuna is great lure. Keep us posted. -
HELP!!!! Fuschia Aisle Runner??
budgetjamaicabride replied to lrfriendly's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Ooo... all the ones I have seen are pretty flimsy and not good for outdoors. I think making one and getting to pick out the fabric will take less time than trying to find it. If you are like me and don't sew much, iron on hem tape is awesome! -
Bridesmaid Dresses
budgetjamaicabride replied to SDbeachgirl's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Depending on how many bridemaids, consider shades of a color. I gave my BM 3-4 shades at Alfred Angelo and David's and told them to find a dress they were happy with that came in one of those shades. It was basically shades of turquiose. Pool was one of them. -

Oh sweetie... we are just having luck with Keisha and news these last few weeks huh? I have finally worked all the details. With all her weddings, she is much more responsive when she gets closer. I am so sorry for the issues. I have worked out a deal for a private reception that is manageable in cost. PM me if you are interested. By thw way, what time of day is the ceremony? -

Advice For Taking In A Stray!
budgetjamaicabride replied to BlissfulMsMiranda's topic in Random Thoughts
Vicki has provided you great advice! Provide comfort and shelter and then a way for you to keep in that comfort and shelter. In the initial times, DO NOT try to handle the kitty without towels to help prevent scratching, biting, and stress. If you end of capturing prior to your vet visit, please keep him quarantined from the rest of your cats to prevent spread of whatever he/she may have. I have taken in ferels and converted them into great house cats... it just takes time and patience and an understanding of the process. My cat that just passed away was a ferel cat and lived happy with us for 10 years. If nothing else, you can provide comfort and safety to your new outside cat. Spay/Neuter, deworm, vaccine, etc. You have a good heart! Keep us posted. -
