The most used items in my oot bags were by far the drawstring backpacks we packed it all in and a badge holder on a carabiner to carry their ID and room key in. The anvil was much appreciated too. Oh my gosh, how could I forget!! THE MOST used item was the color changing cups with a palm tree, Jamaica and the year. Remember you can keep that logo generic enough that others on BDW will want to go in on fulfilling the minimum order.

I actually had people last year not book to come to our wedding because of concerns about weather... ridiculous. I can't live life like that. So the entire time we were there is was warm, a bit humid and never rained for more than 10 minutes... EXCEPT for my wedding day. All of the other weddings that day were fine. At about 3:30 a storm started to roll in. My wedding was a 4 and we were supposed to be having a cocktail reception on the beach. When I was coming out to walk down the aisle, it was BLACK behind me in the sky and blue over the water. THe officiant told us he had talked to "the man upstairs" and told him he needed about 20 minutes. Sure enough, we had no rain for the ceremony and it started to rain 3 minutes after we walked back down the aisle. The moved my reception under a pavillion. THe bonus os this was they let my 2 hour reception go into the night because it was just in the corner of the main pavillion. In addition, after the 20 minute rainstorm, the clouds over the water at sunset were AMAZING! I had pictures we would not have had otherwise... I guess everything works out as it should. Rain is goodluck right?

It was on my list, but I forgot them. They were going to be for people to write their names on their cups from us. Oh well... they managed.

BDW Biggest Loser ~ Season 8
budgetjamaicabride replied to nsbride2010's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Honeycrisp Apples are the best! More expensive but so good and satifying! I am on the road all day 4 days a week. I am in and out of schools and an office in a 100 miles radius. I put 800 miles on my car in the last two weeks. I have finally started packing my lunch and snacks in a cooler in the car and coming home regularly to my Wii and EA active 30 day challenge. I didn't join the biggest loser group this time for the challenge because as the lovely person that WON last time, was my buddy, and happens to have posted above me can tell you... my health and my schedule fight me too hard. So... I will just keep reading and posting and enjoying the motivation. Love this forum and the people in it. Keep going ladies!!! -
Why do people INSIST on stressing you????
budgetjamaicabride replied to JennandMike08's topic in Just venting or funnies
We went through the same thing with some people even though we had chosen a very affordable resort in Breezes. In the end we had 40 people who were really happy and loved the trip! You just never know. If you are serious about not stressing who's coming then you need to make yourself a sign that says so and keep reminding your self of what you are excited about. -
Tropical wedding colors?
budgetjamaicabride replied to solaas's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Carly is right... turquoise and anything works. We did turquoise and lime green and sand color... but have fun and experiment. -
I am so glad to sit here for a moment and TRY to catch up with some of the happenings in BDW. What a choatic few weeks... health issues, a sudden death opf my grandfather, driving halfway across country and more. I really try hard to try to not let all of my health issues effect my daily life and actions, but lately, I am on pain killers with no relief in site for sinus issues, so I am chronically tired and off my mark. Anyway... playing in this forum is a great way to vege for a bit. Love you guys. Sorry I have been so absentee lately.

Happy Wedding Day Autumn! I hope it was amazing and everything you wanted!

Congrats and welcome. I was a October 2009 bride, so i like your choice of month. Happy planning.
-
We just tried to make a point of greeting each group as they arrived with their welcome bags and invited them to join us for dinner at one of the resort restaurants. We also settled on a time to meet at the beach bar each evening to watch the entertainment and socialize. This made it so no one was required or felt obligated, but they had an option. We had our welcome dinner the first night everyone was there which was the night before the wedding.

Welcome and congratulations! I am a Jamaica bride and loved it. Check out the folder for Jamaica as well as wedding reviews of weddings there and everywhere. You have come to the right place.

Calling all *Curvacious* women!!
budgetjamaicabride replied to ~*Lisa*~'s topic in Chit Chat Corner!
Ladies, I am thinking of selling my dress. It is a David's bridal size 22. I am a street size 20. It was only altered in the hem, no where else. I am 5'7". It was used for pictures in Duuns River Falls so I was thinking I would only be able to sell it for TTD, but immediately after the session at DRF I hung it in the shower and rinsed it really well. It has now been dry cleaned and looks great... you would never know I was in the river! I paid $500 for it. I would be willing to sell for $225. Any interest? THe pics I have from the wedding really don't show the detail, but I will take more pics. I don't have my pro pics back yet, so here are a few. Let me know. It is ivory, gathers to one side with (very slimming) and has a corset back.
