Your centerpieces would look really beautiful. I can just imagine it :-). For the candles, you might wanna consider the ones in glasses. That would help with the wind. Taovandel - I checked out Glistening Waters' Web site and it looks sooo beautiful!! I'm sure you all will have a lot of fun. Have any of you considered hiring a band (Front Page Band)? If so, do you by any chance have their contact info? I wanted to talk to them directly but my planner is not giving me their contact info :-(. I asked her twice but she just wants me to let her know if I wanna go with them.

Claudette - Don't be nervous. You're doing awesome! You got most of the big ones out the way so don't worry. I reviewed your list and the only thing i will add is hair & make up and favors. Also, not sure if MDC provides these but don't forget to take cake servers and toasting flutes. If i think of anything else, i'll let you know. BTW, I’m looking for a videographer and was wondering of you can give me the contact info of Noel. Thanks!! As for counterpieces, what kind were you thinking of doing? What i was planning was to take the vases from here and just buy fresh flowers there and arrange it the night before. It can be a fun thing to do with my mom and my BMs....but my only worry is....what if i don't find flowers in my color? Also, i never thought about it but Taovandel brought up good points. So...i don't know, i might need to think hard on that.

Hey guys! Hope you all are doing well! I've been to "Running of the Brides" and I must say it's a bit crazier that I expected it to be. It was a lot of fun though but prepare to see the worst out of some people. I took my mom, MOH, & my aunt with me and they were great help...so be sure not to go by yourself. Oh....there were some people that tried to snatch a dress from me. Keep an eye on your dress/dresses at all times. Don't leave them hanging on the rack next to you cuz if you blink once, your dress is gone. That's how bad it was. I found a gorgeous dress (for the reception) for $250 (original price $2,000) and this bride and her friends/family were like following us to our car asking us to sell it to them. In the D.C. area, this event happens only once a year (first Friday of August) so if you're planning to call sick from work, be sure to cover up or something cuz the media was everywhere and your boss might see you on the 7 o'clock news...LOL. I bought my ceremony dress from RK Bridal in NYC RK Bridal # 1 for service world-wide. I ordered it online using their “No-Frill†program. This place is awesome. Basically, you find the lowest price and they will much it by 5%. So what I did was I researched a lot and selected a dress I wanted, I went to the nearest bridal boutique that carry the dress and tried it on & got measured, then I called bridal stores in other states like NJ, PA, NC, CA...etc and asked their price…finally one store in Pennsylvania was willing to sell it for $550 (without tax & shipping). Then I called RK Bridal and told them the lowest price I found and they matched it by 5% so I paid $550 (including tax & shipping). In the DC area, the dress costs $1,200, I saved $650 :-) :-). So be sure to call around and compare prices. I'm sure you'll save a lot. The wedding business is no joke! Everything is overpriced. Have a good day and talk to you all later!

Taovandel & Sparkles - I checked with Oneika at MDV regarding the bouquet and yes, we can get whatever we want as long as we pay the difference, which is great but I’m not sure if this is restricted to Floral Fantasy only. Claudette - I emailed Tai Flora like a week ego….well…..i called them first and the girl i talked to said i should email Kyan at [email protected] but i haven't heard from her yet. Please let me know if you have any luck getting a hold of 'em. As for the chairs, i thought their website said $1/chair? I really want the wooden white ones cuz MDV only has the metal folded ones. Oneika, said she has vendors that she can recommend for the wooden white ones. I bet they charge more than $1...

I read most of the reviews you guys posted and thought we could help each other with ideas and vendor info....etc. My wedding coordinator is Oneika. Not sure if she does weddings at MDC as well but she just sent me her first email with recommendations. I haven't looked into all of them yet but let me know if anyone is interested and i can share the info :-).

My fiancé and I booked all the villas except for the two and four bedroom cuz they were already booked by someone else. We're expecting about 40 guests but some of them are staying at nearby resorts. We paid the deposits for all guests staying at the villas but Moon Dance will apply the amount to wedding cost as the guests pay their deposits.

Ask her to send you pictures of your options. In the mean time, Kim told me to go to Jamaica Wedding Photography by Paula and Damian : Photojournalism, Tensing Pen, Montego Bay. Some of the pics were taken at Moon Dance Villa. Click on "Slideshows Gallery" and browse through. It kind of helps to see how they do it.
