Thank you for responding to my post. I figured we could have it cleaned up a bit if it is THAT bad. Do you know if the ocean is nice to swim in. I am not concerned with it for myself, because I rather swim in the pool, but just curious for others!! Thanks again! Jodi

I have a question about the beach.. My Fiance works with a guy who had stayed at Moon and said that the beach area/ ocean was rocky and had a lot of seaweed. Did anyone happen to take notice of the beach? Was it nice? Were you able to swim in it? I plan on getting married on the beach. Thank you! Jodi

Every magazine I had was focused on Dreams..However, My Fi and I had to think realistically. We live in NYC and our guests would have to fly from Newark, NJ and as of right now there are no direct flights, which means it would take our guests approx. 8 hours to get to Cabo. Some of our guests plan on staying just for the weekend, and to travel a total of 16 hours to stay for 3 nights it would be too much! That is how we made our decision. But DREAMS CABO looks amazing!! Good luck with your decision making and Happy planning! Jodi -

So I finished college with a degree in English and Education... I quickly began subbing in local schools with no job offers, which made me think of a new path... So last year I decided I wanted to get into the book publishing field...Either write, edit, copy write...basically anything to get me started. However, All these major companies are looking for experienced people, and I don't have the exact experience but I would like to learn...I would intern and work for free..but in order to intern you need to be in college...Frustration! So here I am rethinking another path..and going back to school... Ultrasound tech. or Xray tech. I have no idea what I should do.. Go back to teaching, try for publishing, or start a new career.....?? Any helpful advice?!?!? Suggestions? I am just lost! Jodi

Congrats and Welcome! My suggestion..go to a travel agency. They can help you narrow down your choices! They have tons of magazines and books of great resorts for Destination Weddings! Think about a vacation you loved and enjoyed?! Good Luck! Jodimichelle

That really does not narrow it down. Just wanted to vent a little. Hello! Leogurl my suggestion...go to a TA (even if you are not planning on using one) and he or she can help you with making your decision. They should have plenty of books/magazines for great locations in Mexico. I went to several of them just to get a better idea. Hope this information helps you... JodiMichelle -
Hi Karen- Congrats on your engagement! I don't know if I checked out Dreams-Puerto Vallarta, but Dreams resorts seem to be a great choice!! Lots of luck! We are hoping to book our wedding soon- Moon Palace in Cancun/Maya Riveria!! So excited!!!

Since there are so many people on this thread I just want to say good luck to everyone.. I am "hoping" to be a early July 2010 bride, but we can't confirm anything until the end of this month..At least we, the 2010 people who haven't been able to set a date yet, can vent together! But we have plenty of time to plan! -
Quote: Originally Posted by evtalbot Hi everybody! I thought I would comment on Jodimichelle's questions because I JUST met with a TA and had all of my questions answered. I think going through a TA is a great choice for a few reasons: They are the point of contact for your guests. They can research and find them the best rates available, customize the trip, and best of all, if there is a problem, your guest can call the TA and not make it your problem (For example, if their flight gets cancelled, your TA can fix it). Our TA is compiling an excel spreadsheet of all of the dates our guests are travelling, and she will give this to us so we know when we can expect everyone. In order to get the free cocktail hour or reception, you HAVE to sign a group contract directly with Moon Palace. (That means people who book on Travelocity aren't part of the group). I'll see if I can attach the group rates I received from the resort. You can still use a TA if you do this. The hotel gives the TA a link and group # to book through. My TA says it is a wonderful option, not only for the free perks, but because all of your guests will get booked on the same side of the resort (There are over 2,000 rooms so it's gotta be huge). They will also be recognized as a "wedding group" and *might* get some free room upgrades. They expect you to pay for you and your fiance's room in order to secure a block of rooms! Hope this helps! Evtalbot~ Hi thank you for clearing that up for me...I wasn't exactly sure how it worked and just wanted to make sure before I make a final decision. I was thinking about going through a TA only because it makes life much easier! That is great that your TA is putting together an excel sheet for you..That makes it easier to see who is coming when and so forth! Good luck to you and thank you so much~~

Hi.. so i think i heard a few of you are planning to get married in LOS CABOS!!If it wasn't such a long flight from Newark NJ i would have considered it, but since it's about 8 hours with stop overs I decided against. Every other place-resort I looked at I fell in love with the photos but then realized they were in Los Cabos...But i am happy to say i am planning a wedding in Moon Palace!!! -

Hey ladies! Leorgurl -Great thread.. I was going to start one and then I saw yours! You requested me as a friend, but I am new to this site and I have no idea how to add you. I tried, but it doesn't seem to work?! I don't know haha.. (silly me).. Soo I got engaged on Oct 11, 2008 and ever since then i have been researching on my own, I have asked my friends if they knew anyone that has had a destination wedding, and I have gone to several different travel agents to ask for their advice..That is my suggestion! I have stayed at one of the Palace resorts before, so I decided to look at their website. I contacted them to send me some information and within a week I had brochures! I am hoping for a July 2010 wedding at Moon Palace! I contacted them and they said within a month they will have the packages available!!! Happy Planning to all!!!! looking forward to more postings!!! JodiMichelle -
Hi Ohiobride! I haven't read all the posts.. but I wanted to say that I had stayed at Aventura on vacation about three years ago. I had a nice time.. the resort is beautiful, the food was good! Hope you have a wonderful wedding! I am hoping to plan my wedding at Moon Palace. The Palace resorts seem to give you the most for your money!!! I heard in April of this year they will allow kids?!! Good Luck!
