  1. I've tried on probably 200 dresses and I fell in love with 2. One was $1200 and just out of our price range, the other was a bit too princessy for a DW even though I loved it. I ended up buying two dresses on ebay because they were so cheap. One I wanted to cut off for the AHR and the other fit everything I said I wanted (though I didn't really love it). Now I found the $1200 dress I loved half off on ebay and am trying to sell the other two. I was telling my fiance that I was worried about not going ahead and buying the dress in case it and mine got sold then i'd be back at square one. He said to go ahead and sell mine first and that he'd buy me ANY dress if I lost 25 pounds!!! WOOO!!! To some women this may sound mean but i'm so excited! I lost about that much last year and have put on around 30 since August. I NEED and WANT to lose it before the wedding anyway and now I have extra motivation! He'll buy me any dress I want!!!! I have the best fiance!!!!
  2. Regarding the Anjolique gown: Gown is made of silky taffeta which is lightweight and comfortable. This gown is ivory with embroidery at top and under bust of gown. Vertical ruching at bust and horizontal ruching to drop waist bodice. Intricate detail at left side. Zipper in center back with functional fabric covered buttons. Optional spaghetti straps included. This is a size 10 Manufacturer measurements: Bust: 37" Waist: 28" Hips: 39" This dress has a lace up corset INSIDE which i've never seen before....
  3. I was originally going to cut the Bonny dress of at the knees for an AHR dress but then I found a third dress that I love and is a bit more $. Oops! So I want to try and sell both in order to obtain my dream dress.
  4. Here's the description "Elegant Textured Chiffon ivory gown. True sweetheart neckline, with ruching throughout bodice. Gorgeous AB stones, sequins and pearls are the focal point around the waist. Textured Chiffon overlay covering skirt and train." Manufacturer Measurements: Bust: 37" Waist: 28" Hips: 39" Hollow to Hem: 58" I THINK the skirt and everything under the overlay is satin but i'm not 100% on that. It's also pretty light...not like the other dress (even though its not REALLY heavy either). Both dresses have built in corsets.
  5. I've also got a crystal headband i'll throw in free if requested (first who buys a dress and asks for it)
  6. Some additional pictures.... Also, both dresses are in perfect condition. Tags are still attached - no stains or missing beads. They've been in small-ish garment bags and MAY need to be pressed but i'm not sure. I will ship the dress in a plastic bag inside a black garment bag. The dresses have not been exposed to pets or smoke. Bonny: (makes a very slimming waist line!) Anjolique: Anjolique detail:
  7. I have two new wedding dresses for sale. I bought them as sample dresses and both originally retail for around $850 each. Both dresses are IVORY. I tried on each one time and they've never been altered. The first is a Bonny dress style #762 selling for $325 + shipping. The next is Anjolique 965. (not me in the dress) PM me if you're interested in one or both! Thanks for looking!
  8. well I feel silly now. My FMIL just emailed me and said that even if we're not booked through the group rate we can still get the discount from it Guess I should have just kept my mouth shut...
  9. First off let me say that I feel a little bit guilty venting about this. I absolutely adore my future in laws and think the world of them. It's also probably not as big of a deal as i'm making it and I should just go with the flow. I've been in contact with a TA about travel arrangements and so on. We got a group quote from her for 3 nights and my fiance and I decided against it since it was a risk for us to have to put the deposit down on 10 rooms. We're fairly sure we could get that many booked but weren't 100% considering we'd lose $3,000 in deposit money if we couldn't. We sent out STDs with our TAs info on it so people could contact her if they wanted to. His family lives in Canada and I understand why they wouldn't necessarily use our TA here in the states but now his mom is getting group quotes for a week AND including us in on it! She seems to think that we're going to book with them (which would sort of be nice because group rates sometimes allow either the bride or groom to stay free). BUT I feel terrible just dropping the other TA AND my FMIL didn't even check dates with me and picked the wrong ones. I say wrong ones but she's only off by a day - we were planning on taking a cruise the second week and it doesn't leave till 2 days after the last day of her quote. I understand that it can probably be easily changed. But she already sent out a group email to all prospective guests. Now I feel like we're faced with the decision to book with them because it might save us money while I have to drop our TA who i've been in personal contact with and knows our plans OR we have to tell his parents that we aren't booking with them. I understand the Canadians booking together - it's what I expected. I'm just upset that they threw us in there without asking. This TA in Canada hasn't talked to us about what we want, doesn't know that i've reserved the wedding date or that we want to take the cruise after. And what will it look like if guests in the States call our TA and she tells them that she's no longer working with us? I know this is dumb and i'm probably only mad because I feel like she's taking over when I really should just be glad somebody else is dealing with all the arrangements. Do group rates mean a block of rooms where we'll all be together? Cause I kinda don't want that either....
  10. That's beautiful! I checked out the website and yours looks much better than some of the ones shown there!! And the prices are amazing! I assume you just asked for a custom bouquet? I emailed for a quote. Yay! congrats!!

But I think I like the style of the jacket you created. For the jackets I just printed off the templates and then trimmed the edges with my rotary paper trimmer, folded them on the lines and used glue dots to hold it all together (the middle third will become the back and then either ends will either be the top or the folded in "inside" if that makes sense). I forget what weight cardstock I used was but I bought it in bulk from Office Depot. Here's my poor and quick attempt to illustrate how I folded them.
  12. I have and heard back pretty quickly. I've heard that MOST WCs won't really give you much attention until you arrive at the resort so i'm not personally worried about it. Think about it - they're probably hosting at LEAST one wedding every day. Not giving you attention while you're there would be worse (at least I think) so she's just busy doing her job. I certainly have to talk to my fiance about the photographer situation (if you book there). I've been pretty skeptical of resort photographers....
  13. Not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread but I saw this somewhere and bookmarked it for myself. Welcome to the Guestbook Store! Guestbooks for Every Occasion! Thought it was really cute and something different!
  14. Thanks! I didn't have any better ideas as far as what to put there. Since we weren't inviting a ton of people it was pretty easy to do.

I ended up using one from Hobby Lobby I think. They only had two sizes, small and large. I bought the small bit think the large would have worked better. Good luck!

Though each invite had three inserts that I had to cut out... I couldn't find a better way to do it. Good luck!
  17. Thanks guys. I AM feeling better today. We're going away for two weeks - the first to the resort and taking a cruise the second week so i'm not concerned about time with him. I just want people to get the most out of it. I feel like if they make it a vacation then maybe they won't resent me as much for the money they're spending.
  18. My mom was emailing me about the wedding today. She was giving me all these excuses why they can't stay long...because my dad doesn't like to be away from work, because they don't know what to do with the dog, because the flight is so long. Then she implied that my brother won't be coming. On one hand I can totally understand that this is a lot to ask of people, even my parents, and that I should just be happy they're coming at all. On the other hand it makes me mad that I continue to hear excuses and that they won't take a full week for a vacation. Growing up my family never really went on vacations - certainly not out of the country to tropical destinations. I want them to be able to go and have a good time. To relax, but I'm not convinced they're going to be able to enjoy the experience. If they show up the day before the wedding and leave two days after, what's the point?! I feel like they won't get their money's worth out of it. My brother is a whole other story. He's in college but i'm sure he could stay in a room with my parents to help with cost. He got mad at me back in March because he claims that I think the location is more important than family being able to attend. He told me to stop being so selfish and that I had no class. He HATES my fiance and would be angry at the situation no matter what. But apparently i'm supposed to change our wedding plans and what we want so he can go. At the time of this conversation I told him to He hasn't talked to me since and has been going to INSANE lengths to avoid being around me. GAH! Ok so I know its OUR decision and it only matters if WE are happy but its hard to be happy when nobody else is excited about this and my own brother can't make the effort to be there. Saying nobody else is excited is an exaggeration, his family is THRILLED! That helps, some.
  19. I'm sure they will! I wish the jackets were a little nicer but oh well. Last night I came home with a bride and groom rubber stamp for the back of the envelopes and told my fiance I would do it after I got dinner made and we ate. Before I even got two grocery bags emptied he'd stamped them all! LOL! He's been in a hurry to get them out yet says it's probably the most pointless thing he's ever done. I'm rolling my eyes. Forgot to say that I used "Dot N Go" glue dots to close the jackets. It came in a handy little dispenser. I got mine at Walgreens and probably paid a bit more than anywhere else (around $5 I think). My only issue was that the dots were pretty wide and now the passes won't go completely inside the jackets. I was going to fix it but got talked in to leaving it - since sometimes your pass sticks out a little anyway....
