  1. wedding linens direct home page Sunday (Oct 4) afternoon/evening I submitted my order for 100 satin chair sashes and they arrived today (Oct 6)!!!!!! They were fantastic, had great communication and obviously ship things SUPER quick. My sashes were shipped out of Dallas which is only 3 hours from me but I was still so impressed that they had a tracking number to me in less than 24 hours. And here are picts of the sashes.... Here's the stock photo: And what arrived! (Next to a shoe box for size comparison) YAY!!!
  2. Whoa. This has to be the most tense, drama filled thread on the forum...at least to my knowledge...
  3. I did the same thing to myself. We have four months to go and I still don't have a dress. I've been working out but have only lost about 10 pounds (but it's only been like two months). In reality, I know I won't be a size 4 when we get married. I'm just going to buy a dress that fits me now and have it altered if I need to (keeping my fingers crossed that I will!). I guess you know yourself best - ask yourself how much weight you could really lose in that time. If you think you can get down more than two sizes, maybe wait a couple months. But remember that a lot of dresses take FOREVER to get in if you order them and you may run out of time. You might have to resort to buying one from another bride or getting a sample dress (always a good deal but not always the best selection). Just weigh the pros and cons and decide what's best for your situation. I'd at least start trying on dresses because it might surprise you how darn good you look in them now!!

When she asked me a while back what kind of dress she should get, I just said "no black" (trying to keep it tropical). well, my FMIL just informed me that she bought not one but TWO sage green dresses to bring so she can wear which one matches better. Um, hello? Isn't this a faux paux? I am going to bite my tounge but this really aggravates me. I am quite sure if she had showed up to her daughters $80,000 wedding (which fmil paid for) in a dress that matched the wedding party, her own daughter would have had a fit. But she is planning on rolling into my beach wedding (and contributing not one cent) with a matching dress? And I have to be the nice lady and not say anything? I think I will have a talk with the photgrapher beforehand so she is not in too many photos with us. WTF? And to top it off, my FI thinks this is hillarious! Actually....I've heard that the moms are suppose to TRY and match your colors. I think that might be an older generation thing though. My FMIL didn't say anything or buy a dress that matches our colors but my mom said she heard she was suppose to match - I told her not to worry about it since she couldn't find anything in my colors. Maybe she thinks its an etiquette thing and that she's supposed to? BUT with that said - she could have gotten a silver dress if your girls are wearing green. Then she wouldn't clash and it would be more obvious she's not IN the wedding. I dunno...this is the first i've heard they are intentionally not suppose to wear your colors
  7. Thanks so much guys! I ordered the bright pink ones (and green). YAY!! Can't wait to get them!!

I'll probably make up some sort of cardboard box to go over the them so they don't get really smashed. But I should be able to fix them once we get there if they do.... We'll see how they pull through being shipped to me. There's a lot more threads about other vendors - but this etsy lady was cheaper than them and super friendly!! I love her other work too so I'm really excited to see what she does for me!
  9. Today is the first day I've ordered things for the wedding and AHR!!! It makes me so excited!!! I ordered chair sashes from Wedding Linens Direct. I also submitted custom orders for flowers and bridesmaid jewelry from a couple different people on Etsy :: Your place to buy and sell all things handmade For flowers I'm using Custom wedding flowers bridal bouquets and more by jdleggans Who's going to make me bouquets of Real Touch plumeria and orchids. I love the other things she has for sale and she has GREAT prices! Then I'm having custom jewelry made by: Wild Orchid Gems by wildorchidgems on Etsy She's going to do this design but in our colors (pearls will be light green, stones will be hot pink) with matching earrings. I can't wait to get our stuff! This makes it seem so much more real. I also can't wait to post reviews for them. I know they'll do an excellent job and I'd love to refer more brides to them!

PM me if you are interested. By thw way, what time of day is the ceremony? Thanks. Unfortunately my cousin decided just not to come :-( Then there was a huge back-and-forth about WHERE our resort guests could or could not eat dinner together the night of the wedding. Arg! Prior to booking I was under the impression we could all eat together in one of the specialty restaurants now i'm being told we can't and that we have to pay for a private reception if we all want to eat at the same time. Keisha didn't even mention that we could "reserve" an area of the buffet but Maureen finally found that out for me. I was stressing out for a couple days! Anyway, we're getting married at 3pm. I really wanted 4 so it was closer to sunset but it was taken...dang!
  12. Our colors are pink and green. The girls dresses are kind of a sage green (clover by Alfred Angelo) and I thought that I could only really do a light/muted pink with it but now I don't know. So I need help picking chair sash colors. Now....I already ordered table confetti gems and I got fuschia, so keep that in mind if it matters. This was what I was initially going to get but it started to remind me an awful lot of my cousin's wedding back in the 90's when she did hunter green and dusty rose... So now I'm wondering if this works too Which is better?
  13. Here's a place to get CANADIAN chair sashes. Elegant Perspectives - Wholesale Wedding Decor: satin sashes, bows, chair covers, tablecloth, tablerunners, etc. - Canada & USA It's the cheapest i've found so far. For those in Canada, it's important to remember that you'll have to pay a customs fee for products shipped to you from outside Canada. This place is a bit more expensive than Wedding Linens Direct but you won't have to pay customs - only tax.
  14. I totally understand. We've decided to take the free real bridal bouquet and bout from the resort and get artificial flowers for the other bouquets/bouts/corsages we'll need. No private reception so no other flowers needed. If we bought real flowers at the resort it'd cost us $256 MINIMUM for everything we need!!! I just can't wrap my brain around that when they'll die. I think I can get really nice looking fake ones (with real touch flowers) for around $100. And everybody can keep them if they want. If not, whatever - we still come out ahead!
  15. Thank you so much! Our pre-wedding AHR is in November and I had planned going in to get some makeup tips and basic items that I can use for that and the wedding too!!

I REALLY liked sweetheart necklines on me and neither one of those have it! I too thought maybe it would take away from #1....not decided yet....

We chose some tables almost on an island or peninsula, closest to the beach and beach chapel (which is where we were married also). Also note to make good friends with Sandra, who's the general manager and will generally be taking reservations for the specialty restaurants. She will help with anything needed. More good info is that Munasan can take reservations for 8 people at a time. You sit 16 people to a grill, with 8 on each side of the grill and there are 4 grills total in the restaurant. Thanks so much! What do you think the chances are that we could all make reservations at Munasan for the same time? Although....the buffet is nice because we aren't on a time schedule and can take as long as we want. I guess that's probably best anyway.... On a side note - i'm going to search through your other posts now for more resort info. Haha. I remember reading it before but have forgotten everything. Thanks again, knowing we can do that when we get there makes me feel better!
  18. Thanks guys! I was definitely leaning toward #1 but there's something about 2 that won't let me stop thinking about it! Maybe just because it's the dress I feel like I should have wanted AND the best one from the shipping trip with my mom. But #1 it is! When I tried it on my face turned red and I got all giggly! Unfortunately - #1 is out of our budget so i'm going to order a knockoff. I'm sure it'll still be amazing!!
  19. In all of my trying on of about 200 dresses there are only two that I still think about - one I tried on almost a year ago and the other was seven months ago. I would say that one is what I would have chosen as my "ideal" dress growing up but the other is my "ideal" dress as the woman I want to portray myself as. I love them both though but for different reasons. The two are pretty different. So please help me decide!! Dress 1 - the dress that made me feel like a beautiful WOMAN but isn't what i've always imagined I'd wear (sorry about the editing on that one) Dress 2 - the dress I idealized growing up but might be a little too traditional now ignore my faces - its not indicative of how I feel, just how indecisive I am!
  20. You can't try it on. You basically have to trust their sizes (which seems to have worked out ok for most brides) or get a custom size which can't go too wrong. For the currency - I did euros to US dollars.

Even though they're in China they show prices as euros.
  22. I don't recall anybody posting a link but Landy Bridal actually has a place where they show you REAL dresses they've made. Here it is for all those who would like to know what kind of work they do - landybridal, wedding dress-wedding dress, prom gown and bridesmaid dress by landy bridal

  24. I'm trying to sell my tag size 10 bonny dress. It'd fit a street size 8 much better than a 10. I bought it as a sample gown and was going to make it knee length for our AHR and as a TTD but I can't really fit into it anymore. It's chiffon, light weight and flowy while still giving detail and structure where needed (built in corset inside). I've got it listed on ebay for $250 but will take $220 and give free shipping for BDW brides only! It retails for $850 and is "ivory" - no alterations done yet, tag still attached. And more pictures here: THE dresses pictures by Beaujo85 - Photobucket
