I agree with Erika J, knowing your guest and what they will expect or are expecting should help you decide what to plan. I don't plan on making plans for my guest but I will have some things planned that they can participate in if they like. I am anticipating that they will have or find things to do on their own as well. But no it's not rude!

Ladies I was told on more than one occasion the transfers are not included, but it may be different if you doing AI but I don't think so, make sure you double check. I was told that they are $20pp with minimum 4 people, it's $80from the airport so if you have 2 people they end up paying $40pp, the more people you have I think the cheaper.

Neha & UN-Bride your weddings are a month away OMG time flies! Is everything straight with MDC are you guys excited? I'm excited for you!!! Mastistyle - What's your date? How's planning coming? BTW I'm the worst, I bought a dress and don't want it and I'm reluctant to go find another one. I keep telling Kerry I am going to make my selections and have failed to do so. I want to pick my dress before choosing my bouquet and I'm still in the air about using the band or a DJ. Maybe after I hear you guys reviews I will get motivated and back on the ball. Please don't leave us hanging, when you get a chance fill us in wth all the lovely details. Best whishes to both of you and happy planning to everyone else!

Everyone has given some good advice and suggestions to help answer your posted question. I actually sent our website to about 125 people to put the information out there. I was very detailed that our actual resort only has a certain number of rooms as well as if they didn't book by a certain date that the price would go up. I was only expecting 45-50 for our wedding but after sending out the website and before the price change I had 60 people booked. Since then 2 have canceled and 2 more have booked so it's hard to really estimate. IMO I do feel that you can have a cut off date but it should be a realistic one, not too far before the wedding, meaning between 30-60 days. I totally understand that if you sent them a STD it may be rude to cut them out but if you were having a local wedding and you had to give your head count by a certain date and they didn't RSVP, then what? That's what I mean by setting a more realistic cut off date because believe it or not some people may book a few weeks in advance. I have had 2 friends have destination weddings and they ran into the issue of having guest book weeks in advance and then they had to add them into their budget. I would try some of the suggestions that have been provided as far as adjusting your budget, I'm even going to myself. It is a blessing to have so many people want to come all the way to a DW but we still have to be real about what we can and can't handle. I'm shocked myself with our amount of people but I'm sure we'll figure it out and our DW will be all we hoped for. BTW my original plan for our STD's fell through so they are still sitting on my floor, hopefully they will get mailed next week. I'm only planning to send actual invites to those who have booked 8 weeks out, I don't see the point in sending one to those who aren't coming.

I am fed up with the dress search! I just want to get married to my BFF and have a good time with my family and friends. I feel like I am going to look nice in whatever I choose to wear and right now the dress search has gotten on my last nerve and become too big of an issue. I am confused on which dress to purchase. Even though you lovely BDW ladies have given me some good advice, I’m still not sold on one and I don’t feel like trying on anymore anytime soon. Typically when I go in the store and see something I like and just buy it, it’s normally a keeper. When I go in the store and have to think about a purchase I sometimes end up never wearing it. As well as I often have clothes that hang in my closet and don’t get worn for a long time after I buy them. So am I crazy for wanting to purchase my dress last minute? Where would be the best places to go to at the last minute? Has anyone experienced this?

The Cloisters is actually a site in the Bahamas and the One and Only uses it as one of the wedding sites but if I'm not mistaken that wedding site can be used by others as well. If you go to Bahamas.com and go to the wedding link it will give you info on wedding planners in the Bahamas and some of them have access to the Cloisters as a wedding site. The Bahamas was in my top 3 choices and we did a site visit that didn't go to well so it got kicked out of my choices. The One and Only was beautifult and the Cloisters is as well if you want to see a few pictures we took their send me a PM.

second guess your dress?
big3n09 replied to MsAmErika's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I can relate in the fact that I have tried on too may dresses and now I'm scared to choose. I like weighing my options but some things I can be sure of right off and I wanted to feel that way about my dress but haven't. I told a friend today knowing me I will wake up on wedding day not impressed with my dress but know it's my only option that day and make the best of it. But we shall see, what I need to do now is get something. I like the way SuzyQ76 put in perspective -

Hello All, anybody going to The Great Bridal Expo this Saturday in Alexandria? I went to my first bridal show last month 9/20 at Martin's Crosswind it was nice, I was all into the tastings, LOL! If I was getting married at home cakes plus would be a must have with Deserts by Gerad, now how greedy is that! How is planning/married life going for you ladies in the DMV?

Thank you, thank you, thank you all for your post!!! I realized I did the poll wrong so I am going to try to have the MOD's help me change it. I guess I may try on 1 or 2 more dresses but I'm really tired of looking and I think from trying on so many dresses my opinion is jaded. I didn't dream of getting married so I didn't have a ideal picture in my head. I guess I just will choose what I think looks best on me. Honestly I may wake up that day and want to have on a totally different dress so I'm just going to decide by the end of this month so I can get it out the way.

I have tried on about 30 dresses and I'm really tired and confused at this point. BTW May will be here soon. For whatever reason I'm not getting that "this is the one feeling". Can somebody tell me what my problem is! Here are a few I took a picture of just because the rest of the dresses I either didn't have my camera or didn't like at all. Open for suggestions on these few. Sorry for the bad quality of pictures. Dress 1 Dress2 Dress3 Dress4 Dress5 Dress5

Me and FI have had issues about the bridal party and so the last agreement was to just have my sister as the MOH and that's it. I kind of don't like that idea because I was going to have her walk down the aisle then fix my dress then she can sit with the guest but now I want to do a more like unofficial bridal party but need suggestions. For now I know I will have 2 people do toast and maybe 2 readings. We can provide a MC or hire one at our resort, I was thinking they could do the MC duties but how do I break it down for them? We will have between 8-10 people and they can pick their own attire I just want them to use one of our colors. Do we call them unofficial and word that on our programs and how do we ask them? I need some suggestions on this one please, what other things can they do?
