  1. I don't think you have to have them, there always nice but if it's not in your budget don't have them. There are some options that you can do for a resonable price if you really want to have them.

If that is the case I would have them passed out so that whomever wants one can have one. If you place them on the chairs you will likely need one for everybody and most men will not use them if they look girly.
  3. Moondance cliffs and Moondance Villas are both in Negril if you want to check them out. Moon Dance Resorts - Negril, Jamaica

  5. If you are doing a grand entrance the could run in and announce you guys or just have them say something at some point doing the reception.
  6. I agree with the other ladies putting a personal message in a blank card would make them feel special. You could go to hallmark or online you can find some nice blank cards.
  7. I like the idea and if your friend is the type to be into it then she will love it.
  8. I agree with the other ladies, you should just thank those who gave you the party and the people that came, especially those who gave you a gift.
  9. You have to do what you feel, like you said it's your day. I do like the first dress because I don't want a big dress but that's what I like for me. Now I'm not sure how the first dress lookes on you but the pics you have posted, you look BEAUTIFUL in that dress. So all in all, glade you have the dress you love and that you are going to feel great in it on your big day!

What I will say is I'm not gonna be stressed out that's the whole reason we chose a DW. I will be willing to have a small engagement party with close family and friends and then a AHR about 150 people costing no more than $7500, I'm in a major city so I have to be realistic. Or a small engagement party and a big sendoff party. Or no engagement party and a big AHR still within the same budget. I just don't want to be bothered with too much and wouldn't mind saving the expense.
  11. I believe trip advisor has good reviews on both locations. I am thinking about having a welcome dinner at Tensing Pen. I think both places are very nice but they didn't offer something I was looking for when I was trying to narrow down my choices. What people have to understand about Island people is that they are much more laid back so that's why people get the delayed responses. I have already prepared myself for that happening to me so I'm going to tyr not to stress. I have heard that when it gets closer to your date you get all the attention you need, when you get there they take care of everything and you day turns out perfect. If you can handle it hang in there because they are both very nice locations.
  12. I don't think you have to do them but they are nice. If it's not in your budget I wouldn't stress about it. I plan on doing the gable boxes from oriental trading budgeting between $12-$16 each.
  13. Interesting responses, I agree that I want to do it in an effort to help our relationship. We have very good communication but have never been married before and I think it will be for the best.
  14. I'm a Paramedic and love it but hate the Dept. I work for.

But I am hopeful that they will come through in a timely manner for you. Yes, I am in Maryland and am planning for a May 1, 2010 wedding. It has been such a process trying to find the right resort though. We would like to have the resort finalized today after spending many days 'ironing out the wrinkles'. I guess next I will focus on invitations? :-) Hello and congrats, we are actually booking at Moon Dance Cliffs for that date, it is owned by same people as Moon Dance Villas. Finding the right resort is the hardest thing for many people you have to decide on the things that are a must have and go for the resorts that offer them and weed out the ones that don't. My big thing was I didn't want any other wedding going on the same day as mine so we wouldn't be rushed, no confusion, and we get full attention on our day so that helped me narrow down my decision.
  16. We have a similar situation, guest list of about 150, but we know all those people can't and will not be coming to Jamaica and that's fine. We don't want to exclude anyone so I suggested we have a big cookout style engagement party and pass out the STD's there. Anyone who books by 3/15/10 will receive an official invite, don't see why I should send an invite to anyone who I know is not coming, waste of money to me. We also have a website that I am finishing up on to send out to everyone. I expect about 35-45 people to make it to Jamaica. Haven't made a final decision on AHR yet it depends on if we can afford it if not they were invited to the engagement party and received a STD to the ceremony in Jamaica so they weren't excluded.
  17. The whole idea of peole just being so damn greedy makes me sick to my stomach cause you can't possibly tell me or show me anything they have done to receive any kind of million dollar bonus. I think about all the people who lost their jobs and homes and these selfish people are sitting around being greedy, it irks the hell out of me. Money is the root of all evil for sure!
  18. Give bubbles to couples, salts to any single ladies, and rubber duckies to the single men and kids, LOL! The comment on the bubbles being heavy in your bag is also something to consider.
  19. Sorry your having these issues but I will say Karma is a motha!
  20. You guys have to definately do what make you feel best, no point in being stressed out about something like that, especially if it's because what others suggest. Discuss it with FI and see how he feels.
