  1. Thanks for posting Princessina!!! I was trying to picture how it needs to be done and now I see this may go on my DIY list
  2. I agree it is very rude for people to invite themselves and it is NO rude for you to tell them it is going to be a small intimate wedding. It's your day and what you guys want, you can't please everbody so stick to those you want to invite. Also like Stachr said only 50% of people really come. You'll be amazed at how many people keep talking about it and claim to be coming and they aren't for various reasons.
  3. I work 12 hour shifts and get plenty downtime some days, so yes I'm on BDW during work hours, LOL
  4. Don't stress! I guess it depends on what you want because MDC was more resonable than some of my other choices and no they aren't offering much but they don't have some of the other stipulations some other resorts have either. So you have to decide what works best for you and your budget.
  5. They say that but sometimes it depends. Air rates should be out for April by the end of this month so you might want to wait 3 more weeks to do a comparison. You'll get some good information here also.

I haven't been doing too much lately other than gathering all the information I will need down the road. I will do more next month once air rates are available.
  7. Thanks ladies, we did think they would feel honored and again his father is a big jokester , he has done this to me, so we're just waiting to see if they say anything. I'm not sure if FI discussed anything about us getting married with his father before yesterday, like one on one, but I know he did with his mother cause she asked me about it. He cuts his father's hair every other week so the next time he cuts it I will ask him to discuss it with his father. His mother is a sweetheart and very easy going, that's how she tolerates his dad, LOL, so she probably doesn't mind at all. I will let it go untill the 1st of may because I want to put my website up then, so we'll see thanks agian, gosh I love this forum!!!

That had to be nice since you found your dress and the prices I must admit are wonderful, give us some more details. I'm definatly going so any advice or suggestions would be helpful.
  9. Not sure where that thread is but there are others that give advice on booking with/without TA. Good Luck!
  10. Me and tdmitchell went to the last one on 4/3 and we are planning on going on 7/31, it's at the Mazza Gallerie store on Wisconsin Ave NW. I was going to get a crew of my family and friends together just for the fun of it and not sure of tdmitchell exact plans. I'm open to doing something if you ladies want to we can bum rush the place with BDW T-shirts and all, LOL! We did learn from our 4/3 venture that getting there early only may increase your chances a little bit but it also seems like it could be kind of fun. But I'm off that day so I can pretty much do whatever. Keep me posted!
  11. We originally planned to get married 8/29/09 but needed to move the date back to next year. The low season in Jamaica begins 4/15 and rates would be better for everyone so I chose 5/1/10. When I told FI he said his parents date is around that time but wasn't sure of the actual date, low and behold that's their date. So we decided if we use that date we need to run it pass them to see how they feel about it. At first I was getting on FI about not helping and decided not to even mention things to him but suprisingly last night he suggestd we go talk to his parents about using the same date. So we did and his father is on joke time 24/7 and didn't give us a straight answer. Since we didn't get a real answer I'm now looking at other dates. Now I myself would not have a problem with somebody having the same date unless I already had big plans for my next anniversy. Next year is thier 45th anniversy and they had a big party for their 40th that FI and his sister threw, not sure what they were planning. I thought it would actually be nice and was hoping to do some kind of tribute to them at our ceremony. My question is what would your response have been or how would you feel about a friend or family member sharing the same date?
  12. See like the other ladies said everything happens for a reason! I will say a prayer for you. I am a Paramedic and thinking about doing a bridge to nursing program in the near future, good luck and don't give up!

They have a big jewerly sale 2 times a year i think. I would ask a salesperson to let you know when it's coming or to contact you, they probably won't mind, most of them get commission. Then if you have a coupon or macy's card you sometimes get even bigger discounts.
  14. Natural color flowere will go with anything and i assume your dress is a natural color so you never go wrong with natural colors
  15. This is just the info i was looking for, i'm trying to be realistic and figure out wht to expect. Thank you all for posting i thought it would be rude of me to ask people how much they spent but i appreciate all of you sharing, it helps.
  16. It's really not your responsibility but if you have offered to help i would do that but don't stress yourself out. Maybe you can introduce the people you plan to pair together AND let them exchange info and then they do the rest. See if they all can meet, start a blog ON FACEBOOKE, or some OTHER method of bringING them together to let them decide on who they want to room with and exchange info so they can arrAnge the rest. Good luck!
  17. I was waiting for some ladies to finally respond, lol! Yes running of the brides was different from what i expected but we just wanted to look and check it out anyway. I picked out a dress at demetrio's bridal salon inside macy's out tyson's corner , i'm going to go to the running of the brides at mazza gallerie but if i don't find anything i will go back to demetrio's. If you guys want to arrange something for that event on 7/31 we can. I have not been to a bridal show before but i get info and invites to them often if anyone want to attend or arrange anything else i guess we can come here and post or pm each other. Happy planning ladies!!!

This is the last thing I needed to come across right now while I'm as stressed as I am! I'm with you on the flavored mojitos! I also like French Martinis, and most other flavored martinis. Wow, this is about to be me for sure!!!
  19. Wear something business like mabey a pants suite or skirt suite. If not wear some dress pants or a skirt with a nice blouse or top. I don't have any real advice but you could def go to monster.com for more help. I would answer questions as honestly as possible and because you had a similar job I would mention that. Another thing I have heard that is good is to get some information about the company before going to the interview so you will have a little knowledge about what your getting into. Good luck!!!
  20. You are def not alone. I had a thread a while back "FI's attitude is sucky", he pretty much is not being as interested and involved as I would like him to be but I know him when it gets closer or if it's something he doesn't like he is going to get overly involved then. I wouldn't worry about it, especially for now. I have jjust been getting all the information and thins together and lined up and will do what I need to do. Best of luck!
