  1. RYDM-The cahirs are $1 but the cover and the ties are $2. If they are the metal ones-then we would have to pay for the cover and fee. Has anyone gotten any response from anyone at MDC in the last week? Sparkles & Claudette-I know I am a little late-but I love your websites. They have such great information. Have Valentine's Day everyone!
  2. Miriam emailed me when I was deciding that there was a shuttle that goes to the beach -it is a 10 min ride. But she didnt say how often it runs. Taovandel-what is the cake vendor you are using? Someone recommended selenacakes.com to me...
  3. Thanks for all the info. When I was speaking to Miriam (before deciding on a place), she mentioned that the chairs are wooden white chairs. Taovendel-love your colors...we were not going ot have theme colors-but then in terms of the cake and the decorations-that is the only thing I keep getting asked!
  4. I just heard from Kerry this evening. The only photogrpaher she suggested was Sungold. Is anyone doing the all inclusive plan? I saw that they charge for tables and chairs? Does this makes sense if they already have them? Or am I just being crazy?
  5. Unfortunately, I was told that Oneika only handles MDV. But I would love to read what she suggested. I still haven't heard from Linus or Kerry. I have called and still can't in touch with either. I keep telling myself its island time...
  6. Ssleenyc- I found a map of Negril hotels (attached). It looks like Tensing Pen is north of MDC. There are 8 other resorts between MDC and Tensing Pen. Hope this helps! 20090203095426683.pdf
  7. Claudette- I love your photographer-he is alot more within my budget than what I have seen. I am so glad other brides are doing an IPOD reception. I got alot of negative feedback when I mentioned it, and was starting to doubt myself. Does anyone know if MDC charges a 'vendor fee' if we don;t use their services? Has anyone heard anything about the spa? I read a review-and the bride said she hated her hair. The stylist didn't want to do what the bride wanted-he has his own vision. And she aslo said that her MOH got sores on her hands and feet after the mani/pedi! Yikes!
  8. I can tell you how thrilled I am to find this forum. I just booked MDC last week for a November 20 wedding. I have emailed Linus a few times and have not heard back, but it has only been a week. All of you seem so organized! I am having a difficult time deciding anything. I mentioned in the intro post that I am Indian and my fiance is Afican American. So we are having a non-denominational ceremony. But I want to incorporate our cultures in the reception. So, I don't even know where to begin. And at the risk of sounding a bit depressing-both of my parents are deceased, and I feel like I am going to have to plan everything on my own. (Sorry-just needed to vent a bit). My fiance and I are trying to keep it as simple as possible-no bridemaids or groomsmen, maid of honor, best man etc, no colors. I am going to wear an indian outfit-and that is the only thing I have decided! A wedding should be happy and exciting-but the planning is only stressing me out! How are you all so composed?

  10. Has anyone looking at Sunset at the Palms for a wedding?
  11. FYI-they are completly booked in December 2009; they don't have weddings during peak season. And they require 7 days between each wedding. Just get a calling card (you can get one online for 4 cents/minute) and call them around 9am (Jamaican time) Mon-Wed. Good luck!

    Hi!

Hi-I am getting married Nov/Dec of this year. I am looking at getting married in Jamaica. My fiance is African AMerican and I am Indian-so we are hoping to have a wedding with traditions from both cultures!
