Yay, i'm from Red Deer! Not born and raised but i've been living here for the past couple of years now. It would be fun to have a get together!!!

We're in the same boat as most on here. My parents gave us $5000 for the wedding and my mom paid for over half the cost of my dress. My FI's parents haven't really said a word about whether they are giving us any money and we're not really planning on bringing it up. It's kind of tricky situation to bring up for a lot of people, some people would take serious offence to this no matter how well off they are. I don't blame you for resenting them a bit, $60,000 on their daughters wedding is insane but was it really for her or just to impress their friends and relatives? They sound quite materialistic, please don't take offense to this, but bragging about how much you spend on things is very rude IMO. Either way you guys are probably best not to expect anything from them and if something does come your way it'll be a pleasant surprise!

I was checking these guys out for chair sashes the other day and their prices are quite reasonable. Has anyone ordered from them yet? It would be great to know what the quality of their products is like!

Wow...You guys are all so awesome and supportive. I truly can't believe some of the BS you have gone through in regards to your guests, especially when you're talking about family. Hearing about some of your situations has helped me to move on from this. I now truly appreciate everyone who is coming and I know our wedding is going to be amazing. Actually on a side note, my girlfriend who just bought a house, one of the ones I thought wasn't coming due to the another "friend" starting rumors, well she just called me yesterday and said she wouldn't miss our wedding for anything! That made my day

Hi All, I am just venting today...I finally went through my guest list and cleaned it up with a few RSVP's and I just broke down. I know most of you might think it's crazy, we have 28 RSVP's including us. It's just who is coming and who isn't that got to me. It's not the recession at all that's had an effect, it's just poor timing. Some of our best friends, and we only have a few close ones, can't make it because of very important things like: -Bought a new house -Had a Baby -Planning their own wedding next year -Family Member is very sick and not given much time(terrible news from one of our groomsmen) It just hurts that people we care so much about aren't going to be there. After all the planning and hard work I really wanted to share this with them. We've discussed having an AHR but it's just not in the budget for us. Anyhow I think I just need to be sad today and hopefully get over it quickly....Thanks for listening!

Okay ladies...So I ordered my TTD from this site and it got here super fast. Like 3 days after I received the email confirming shipping. It was on hold for a while because I was trying to add to the order but I ended up changing my mind. Anyhoo, I knew it would not be a perfect fit (I cheaped out and didn't opt for custom) so i'm going to get the bust altered (you'll notice in every pic i'm holding it up), the hips need to come in so it clings closer to the body and obviously the length as that's a given when you're 5'2. The fabric is quite nice and seems to be well made, especially considering the low price ($100 with shipping) Here are a couple of pics: (sorry they're crappy I had to use the timer...oh and I totally have messy hair, it was windy outside and I was in a hurry to take some pics )

Is he just making you suffer or do you think maybe he's waiting for an apology or something? It's so childish for him to do this to you. Maybe you do need to be a bit more aggressive about this. He clearly knows how much this is hurting you and no matter the argument this is not fair. Unless there were serious boundaries crossed no one needs this kind of space. It's talk time... Sorry to sound harsh, I just feel so bad that you are going through this and really hope things can be on the mend soon!

Okay so on the advice of islandbride317 (Thanks Again!) i've made the date font bigger, which I love. Also due to the whining of my FI, LOL, i've moved his name first and it does fit nicely. (Men are such babies ) Also some minor editing to center everything and I think this one is much better! Thanks for the positive comments all!!! If any of you have the InDesign program and want me to send you the template PM me. Oh and FYI the background graphics and starfish pic I found online and edited them in a program called GIMP which you can download for free off the internet. It can be tricky to learn this program but if you have any questions let me know. (Still can't figure out why photobucket shows the monogram in poor quality from the upload, must have something to do with the size of the original)

Congrats on the weight loss Lisa!!! I think your dress is gorgeous and your Aunt loves you so at the end of the day altering your dress to fit your new slimmer body will be the icing on the cake for her! I agree with sending her the pics to show just how much needs to come in and who knows, she may either come back early to do this or she might tell you to have a local seamstress do this. Your going to look so beautiful on your big day!!!

I do like the idea of hiding the page the best but if that doesn't work out partially due to the fact that you're not leaving too much time before the wedding for RSVP's then what about password protecting the RSVP for the wedding page. My wedding planning site allows me to do this but i'm not sure if yours does. You may have to send out an email or call people on your wedding list to let them know the password but at least you will have your RSVP's coming in for both throughout the year as planned. Just another idea for you!
