Instead, I bought me a newer camera with lenses and my brother is going to use it...... and I got a new play toy for the rest of the trip. I have read reviews from other brides that didn't have David and they loved their photographer just as much. You may want to read back throgh the last several months of posts if you have the time.

I am glad you got the package you wanted. I just feel there are so many benefits to ours verses the new ones. They were cheaper and included services like the manicur, pedicure, holistic spa for both (100 mins - we have ours booked for Friday afternoon), the wedding dress pressing, and choice of music. AND don't forget two MP robes... HA!! I think it is a great deal.

We have the Deluxe package also. I am so glad we signed the contract before they changed them. We are also getting the Mariachi band. It was FI idea but I really like it too.

I am hoping for the best on the makeup. Did some of you say they would use makeup we bring with us? I've been sampling and buying new makeup for several weeks now. Texas is a good place to test it out in the heat. I have found a great combination that works well for me.

Welcome to the forum Honey!!! When are you arriving? What time is your wedding? We will be taking a laptop and are going to email our guests and let them know where to meet us the first night. We have already told them the RoofTop Bar in the Grand side but stated we would email the directions or changes once we get there. We will hand out Itineraries for the weekend at this little event! We chose to deliver our OOT bags next week before we leave. I have been considering putting a Friday night/Saturday event schedule in the bag with the other stuff on a bookmark. It will be the same thing we also hand out on Thursday. We just had way too much stuff to try and get it down to Mexico.

Hi all!! We are down to 10 days till we leave, 16 till our ceremony!! We will be in Cancun for 11 days once there! It is very exciting! We still have lots of shopping for travel items. I also have lists everywhere. I think our shopping is a little more complicated because we will be there longer and we are going to plan for several tours. We still have to buy pants for the guys but will hopefully have that done today or tomorrow. I told them all, alterations have to be done by next FRIDAY or tell them I will be in there raising a hissy. The only other things is compile a photo sample document for our photographer, assemble and deliver OOT bags. (We have too much stuff to try and take ours) Just our cups is a huge box) Congratulations to you all!! We are almost there!!

Its impossible to not get good pictures because it is so beautiful there....and the lighting is perfect. We had everyone taking pictures at the dinner, etc. They all turned out beautiful! David wants to break out on his own - because he said he does not get enough business at the resort. I'm sure if you tipped him he would stay as long as you want him to, etc. I told him I requested him - and he was surprised...I don't think the resort tells him how heavily requested he is. If you send me your E-mail I can send you a few pictures that he took - I don't really know how to work this forum haha! Let me know if you have any more questions! Also, I wanted to highlight for everyone that we had our dinner on the terrace at the arrifices restaurant! It was very yummy...and we had our own area and staff - it was GREAT! They block off the area and don't let anyone else out there. They set up our cake pretty...put out our place cards, etc. So I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone...also - since they do the fogo de chao style food - its fun for everyone!!!! Morgan, Thanks for the information! You have me very inspired. I will make sure I tell David, I had to ask over and over for him. We are having our friday night dinner at Arrifices on the terrace. I am very excited about that! What is the largest size you or your party have blown up from the jpegs? It sounds like they are more than sufficient to work with. If I could get the raw format, I was also going to do some creative things with them but I am sure I wouldn't do it to many. I think I probably should go for numbers so I make sure I get what I want. How did you let him know what kind of photos you wanted? I am putting a bunch of samples in a document and bring him a printed example (HA!, some of them are his! HAHAHA!!) Eureaka, I started asking for him several months ago. They told me back then they put in a request to the photography department. I didn't find out for sure that I had been assigned David till a couple weeks ago. Nina, I wasn't expecting it to be that miserable but I have heard from my boss that just went and several other people that have been there this time of year to move it inside. I think we will probably do that but I am not going to make the final decision until we are there. Tracy even stated that her cake started melting and her wedding was over a month ago. If we get inside and decide after the dancing begins it isn't very exciting, we may just take our ipod outside and find a spot by a pool to party down! HA!! We are taking our laptop and Bose Ipod docking station with us. Wow, the days are flying by now. I hope that once we get there, time slows down a little bit so we can really enjoy ourselves and feel like we had a little bit of a vacation.

Hi Morgan, Would love to see your reveiw. I have David Pena has our photographer and am looking forward to his photos. Did you buy a specific package for the 400 photos or was that the basic package that includes the wedding and family/bride/groom for the hour aferwards. Did you get them all in the JPEG format or did you ask for RAW? Have you blown any of them up yet? To what size? I was told they would shoot raw if I wanted but it would be less photos. The only thing is you can do so much more with them and blow them up pretty large. We were going to have David come back for our wedding party several hours later and shoot the first couple hours. They were going to charge between $800 - $900. We debated this and decide to buy a new camera and lease setup instead. My brother and several friends are pretty good photographers. My brother is going to use the new camera. I hope I don't regret tha decision but already bought the set-up off of Ebay. I am getting nervous now.....wondering if everything is done and if I have all the information I will need in my portable file. I still need to make a planning list for the WC. 11 days from today, we will be scoping out our wedding site to make the decision on outside/inside?!?!?!?! Heat index yesterday in Cancun was 120 degrees. DOH!! It is looking like inside. Several of us are leaving very SOON!!

Hey Nina!! It is really close for both of us. It is starting to get fun!! I cannot wait till we are there. I can't beleive that about your mom and brother!!! Glad it isn't so bad as people were thinking. I thought that was so funny about the liquor. The place my boss stayed didn't have bars in each room and he said that he and several others really did try to get a buzz a couple times and it was that bad. I wondered the same if it was because they were hurting. If they had to combine 4 hotels into one, it must be bad. Has anyone heard if any of the Palace resorts are closing and combining with other resorts?

My boss just got back from Playa and told me the most interesting story. They stayed at one of the Iberastar resorts (I originally was considering getting married at one of these in Pay). Three of their resorts are closed and they combined all the resorts into their top of the line resorts in the area (sounds sweet, huh?? ). My boss said they watered down all the liquor so bad and would sweeten them up so much that no one in his party even felt the alcohol unless they were drinking wine or beer.. I thought that was so strange. doblauvelt, Don't worry. Many of us waited till a month out. The resorts are VERY slow. My WC even told me that. They may be doing something a little different now so don't worry about it if you don't get someone now. I am confident from all the reviews that it will be my dream day no matter what. When it is your turn, they go all out. We leave in 13 days and will be married in 19.

Cancun09, Welcome to the forum!! You are posting correctly! Morgan, Thanks for the information and Congrats on your marriage! We would love to hear about it and see photos. What time of day did you get married? Lizlett, That is the first time I have heard of a TA trying to talk someone out of MP. I will bet it is as another poster said, she may be confused with another place. Everything about MP we have heard, especially dealing with weddings, is awesome. AND it isn't as far as that TA stated. Drtracy, Both me and my FI have been married before so we would have to supply divorce decrees which have a lot more information in them like social security numbers and other information. When getting legally married in Mexico, don't you also supply things like birth cert. which has parents info and other things? We happen to know people who have had their identities stolen in Mexico so we are just being a little paranoid...

Leanna, From the reviews I have read, There is no difference in appearance at the ceremony when you have a symbolic ceremony verses the legal one. We purchased a wedding package so we will have the carriage ride, walking down the aisle, vows, (we also added a sand ceremony), signing a document and everything else that a legal ceremony has. The things we are cutting out is having our blood drawn, getting the license translated and I am sure some other hassle type things. Both me and my FI felt we did not want people in Mexico having as much information about us as a marriage would give them. We are looking forward to our ceremony though! From what I have heard on this thread, MP really makes your wedding day perfect in every way!
