Happy to help! I am glad your guests were able to book at a lower rate...more money for fun!!

Did you check on Orbitz? I just did a quick search on a package leaving on Jan. 3 and returning Jan. 10 and it's $1,546 for flight and hotel (Dreams). I don't know how close that is to what your guests are already paying.

Coco Bongo was 70.00 per person so that was too ridiculous for us-- $70! That is crazy!! Did that include open bar? How much was it to go to Ice? Where did you do the tequilla photo bottle? The last time I went to Cancun, we loved Fat Tuesdays. The drinks were awesome!

It's a per person rate because the resort is all inclusive. I think that's a great price. You get a week at an all inclusive for a little over $900...can't beat it! My wedding is in the beginning of November. I am sure that rates fluctuate for different times of the year, but it can't hurt to ask.

For favours, we are going to give heart-shaped measuring cups that come in a fancy looking box with a tag on it saying 'love beyond measure'! We thought our guests could use them for baking for Christmas since our wedding is in December right before Christmas! They are about $5.00 each. They are pretty fluffy. There are not spa products wrapped in them. They have an elastic in top with a velcrow closer so you can wear them at the spa, when you get out of the shower, etc. I bought 10 of them so I got a couple dollars off each one, but I think they are normally $22. I love them! I think it will make for a cute pic too:)
  7. Hey girls! I just got these spa towel wraps in the mail last night and love them! I got them for all the ladies in the bridal party and thought I'd share in case you are looking for ideas.

  9. Hi girls! I ordered all the ladies in my wedding customized spa towel wraps on etsy.com. I just got them yesterday and they are really cute. I thought I would share in case any of you are still looking for some gift ideas.
  10. Congratulations Jen! This was a great review and I am so glad that everything went well for you. You looked amazing!

All of my guests booked their rooms directly through the resort and they gave everyone a really good rate since we are getting married there. They just set up a booking code for all your guets to use. It couldn't hurt to give it a whirl.

BUT they are really worried about having to pay for a day pass Every day that they come to Dreams. if they both have to pay for a day pass for 4 days, that would suck. sylvia and lisa, you guys mentioned that your guests got in without the day pass so could you please tell me how they did it! my travel agent said that dreams is really strict about letting ppl in and they always charge for a day pass! and btw sylvia- does Krystal have food at the resort and how far is it from dreams? thanks guys!!! That stinks! I remember another girl saying that they had people come from other resorts and they didn't pay. I am pretty sure she said that the only time they were even asked was at a restaurant and all you have to do is give them a room number. Good luck...I am sure it will work out!

(the caribbean night with the fire show on friday night was much better--both the food and the entertainment). we didn't go to any of the clubs down the strip (had hardly any young people with us) but i *really* wish we had. one of my few wedding week regrets! azucar was closed all week ... i guess not enough people to warrant opening because of swine flu. we were really lacking a late-night bar/place to dance. Thanks for the suggestion! I am not sure what will be bumpin on a Tuesday night but Fat Tuesdays was one of my favorite places last time I wen to Cancun. We may have to switch it up and head out on Saturday to make sure we can have some real fun:)
  14. There is some great information on this site about Dreams Cancun. I have never been, but am getting married there on November 5. I have talked to a bunch of brides and all of there feedback has been amazing. They have gotten me so excited to be a Dreams bride. I would suggest looking under wedding reviews and also looking under Riviera Maya, Cancun and surrounding areas at the Dreams - Questions for those married here thread. You will be able to find everything you ever wanted to know about Dreams and also see pictures.
  15. This is such a cute idea and I would love to participate! If anyone has a starfish for me, that would be great! Itsfinallyhere - if I am able to get one, I could leave it with a WC at Dreams for you since I am getting married on November 5, 2009.

Definitely NOT the night before the wedding. That would be terrible! I would never make it. We are doing the rehearsal on Tuesday and getting married on Thursday so I'll have a day to recoop. Did you guys go to any of the night clubs?

We have a relatively large wedding party, so the rehearsal dinner would include most people by the time you add in dates, parents of the children and our parents. I think there would only be 10 people left out and I would feel really bad so I would like to open it to everyone. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. My FI's parents just wanted to do a little something as a thank you for everyone that is making the journey down to share in our wedding. I am not worried about it taking away from the wedding at all. That will be a special day no matter what we do during the week. Plus, we were thinking that we'd all have dinner together and then separate for our bachelor/bachelorette parties:)

  20. Hi everyone! I am trying to put something together for a "rehearsal dinner" for all our guests. Has anyone done this off the resort? I just figure if we have to pay for it, we might as well go somewhere off the resort since we can eat at those restaurants for free all week. One of my ideas was to go on a dinner cruise. I emailed Aquaworld and they are willing to offer group discounts. Here is the email I received in case anyone else is interested: Hi Maria, Thanks for getting back to me. The price per person would depend on the menu you would like to offer your guests, if you would like to offer the Cancun Queen menu (Chicken or Fish) then the price per person is $50 usd (+ 10% tax), if you would like the Lobster or Steak menu the price per person is $70 usd (+ 10% tax), there is also a vegetarian pasta menu for $50 usd (+ 10% tax). Regarding discounts, I have checked and we can offer for every 10 persons you reserve, one person free. With 39 people total this would mean that you would only pay for 36. I have also forwarded this mail to my immediate manager who will contact you with any further details she sees relevant, please don't hesitate to get back to me should you need any further information whatsoever meanwhile. If anyone has ideas, please share!!
