  1. Thanks so much for the tips! I like your idea about having a parents' dinner one night & a separate one with friends so you get to spend time with people w/o feeling pulled in a bunch of directions.
  2. you look great & the best part is you look so incredibly HAPPY! congrats!
  3. Wow. These are some seriously great tips. Thanks everyone! I too love the $1 area of Target; have found some really cute shower favor gifts in the past (votive candles, etc). Anyone have any ideas for finding a not-so-expensive dress in the NYC area? It's so nice to see we're all in the same frugally-driven boat.
  4. Wow! I'm so impressed with your planning thread! So many cute details & it seems like you've thought of everything. You put so much love & work into those care packages & it shows. Your guests will truly be blown away. Good luck to you!!

  6. I'm really interested in Barcelona Tapas too, so any additional info anyone has would be great! Thanks!
  7. Jamie, I agree with you. While controversial (fake baking), I think going to a tanning bed a couple of times before leaving can be a quick way to start on a base tan. One word of caution: don't over-do it the 1st time you go! It was suggested to me (also super pale) not to go for more than like 10-12 min the 1st time to avoid frying yourself.

    Newb Here!!

Welcome to the forum! I'm a noob too. As a guest, destination weddings are so great - you get to celebrate the best day of your friend's life and have a vacation at the same time!! Are you involved in any of the planning or do you get to just show up & enjoy?

Wow you guys are fast!! I love how helpful & nice everyone on this site is!! I'm sure I'll be requesting lots of help - starting now. Lauren, I noticed you're from NJ. Did you use a travel agent? And did you use the WC at Dreams or hire one? I'm sure you remember the planning process well & we're at the bazillion questions phase. Thanks!!
  10. We've just been discussing this! So glad to have come across all of your posts. I like the idea of waiting to exchange rings 'til the DW & using that date as our anniversary date, but it does seem kind of confusing to have the 2 dates. We can't decide when to have the legal ceremony (before or after the DW in Mexico). Sounds like we should start by finding out if the resort has any requirements (like bringing a marriage license with us) and checking with the NY powers-that-be.

Hi all. I'm Karen & am so excited to have found this great resource. My fiance & I are in the process of planning a wedding next Jan in Puerto Vallarta. I think we're pretty set on Dreams & I've been reading many of the Dreams' threads. Thanks to everyone for all of the insight & advice!
