    We just put down a deposit too & although it's not in the DR, I know how tough deciding is -congratulations!! Punta Cana is really beautiful so you'll have a perfect backdrop for your special day. Good luck!

    Along that line, does anyone have any ideas for Mexico-inspired OOT bags? Not the contents, but the actual bags. I've been looking a little on the internet for something local-esque but all I've found are those mesh/plastic shopping bags & they're not really what I had in mind. Thanks!

    Congratulations!! I'm not getting married at the MC but my FI & I went there a year ago & LOVED it. Such a great hotel w/ great service, food, pools & beach! We actually took the info on wedding packages when we left. Are you having a beach wedding, or in the gazebo or chapel? We saw weddings at the chapel & gazebo, as well as a set-up on the beach & they do a really nice job. Best of luck!

    We chose Dreams too for May of 2010. There were a ton of great reviews on tripadvisor.com so we felt good about the hotel & then a lot of great things said on this site about them for weddings. And Rebeca is really good about getting back to you quickly & answering questions. Good luck making your decision, I know how tough it can be!

    I'm with you girls. As much as I'd love to be able to put up our BP, we just can't swing it. I never got the feeling that anyone expects it either. I do want to get really nice gifts for the BP though & for those of you that have bought/plan to buy their wedding attire, that's a really nice gift!!

    The long vs short sleeves is a good idea. Or what about something like a Mexican wedding shirt (Guayabera) for just your fiance, and/or different colors for the guys?     I just ordered one of those Easy Spanish Phrase books from Amazon for $2. I saw that you can get them on Amazon Marketplace for $.01 & got all excited but the different vendors charge $3.99 S/H for each book! So my $.35 order turned into almost $200 with the shipping. Not such a good deal after all, so be careful & check S/H before ordering.

    I think you made the right choice. I love the VS dress - it's perfect for a DW! And it looks way more comfortable, especially for a wedding in the DR in August. I may have to check that dress out too...

    Thanks so much for the tips! I like your idea about having a parents' dinner one night & a separate one with friends so you get to spend time with people w/o feeling pulled in a bunch of directions.
