  1. Nope, not odd at all! Sounds like you just want to make sure you try them all & don't miss out on what could be The Dress! I'd do the same. And thanks for the info on Altier! I had an appt at Macy's yesterday (um, not good unless you really like big poofy bedazzled dresses). Then I went down to the NM store in Soho to check it out. The store was completely empty, except for the security guard & rude sales assistant and she acted like it was a big deal to let me look at the book of dresses they carry. I know it's by appt only but hadn't made one cuz I didn't know which dresses they have so when I asked when the next avail appt is the rude chick was like "you mean TODAY?!?" like I was asking the impossible of her (with NO ONE in the store, mind you). I said well if you had something today that'd be great or just the next avail. She said I could come back at 4:30 (I was there at noon) and I was like, um no. I made an appt for next week but I don't even want to go back b/c she was so rude - she even acted like I was asking a lot when I wanted her to write the time down on a card. I really hope you don't have a similar experience with NM when you go (I know it'll be on an opposite coast, hopefully they'll have the opposite attitude as well!). So I'm glad to hear that Altier has NM dresses too. How were they customer-service wise?
  2. Congratulations Lili (on your beautiful baby & upcoming wedding!)!! Definitely check out the PV subforum -- it has been incredibly helpful for so many of us! Like several of the girls, I'm getting married in PV next May & I agree it's a perfect DW location. Just beautiful. Good luck making your decision!!
  3. I just ordered the bcbg dress from Nordstrom! I really like it & it really is perfect for a DW but I'm just not sure about it yet. I'm keeping it for now & bringing it back home to Chicago in a couple weeks so I can show my mom & best friends for some 2nd opinions. I also saw it this weekend in the bcbg store on 5th Ave & they were having a 30%-off sale, but it doesn't seem to be on their website (unless I missed it).
  4. Great dresses!! I love NM dresses & those look terrific! Are you thinking of buying the 2nd one? And which store did you visit this weekend, Soho?
  5. Gorgeous dress! And how great you got such a good deal!
  6. Congrats & welcome to the forum! We're getting married next year at Dreams Puerto Vallarta. You should definitely check out the threads on Mexico - they should help you make up your mind. Have fun planning!
  7. Such a great thread! Just one more thing I'm gonna actually have to start thinking about.
  8. Beautiful pictures! I'm so glad I found your thread b/c we're hopefully going to have Beth photograph our wedding next year! How long did you guys have her for? Her package includes 7 hours & I was thinking that's too long, but I'm curious what you think having done it already. Thanks so much!
  9. Congratulations girls! You both are very kind & supportive of everyone on the forum.
  10. What does she think antiques are? hello?!? Not to mention everything on Craig's list (& I know ppl have gotten some really great used stuff from C's list) I say if you & your FI like it, go for it! It'll be one less thing you have to buy when you do get to set up your own place.
  11. Any of those sound great -- I'm always a sucker for Mexican though so I'd vote for el cantinero, especially cuz it's close to the PATH & a bunch of subway stops. & Casey, of course you can come!!!
  12. I'm so sorry you're going through this, but I really think you have the right attitude about it all. You're right - the ball is in her court and she needs to let you know either way rather than letting this drag on. You've generously offered her assistance (much more than I would have!) but if she's too proud to accept your help then what can you do? It may be the money it may be the flight time, or it could be something else. In any event, you can't read her mind or fix this without her meeting you half-way. I hope she has the decency to speak to you in person about this; I think she owes you that much at the very least regardless of her reasons. Keep the focus on all that's positive about planning your wedding -- like finding your gorgeous dress & veil! And let us know what happens.
  13. I'm so sorry you have to go through this & that it's happening so close to your wedding. It's really disappointing so although you seem to be handling it amazingly well & are not stressed about it, it's more than understandable that this would make both you & Joe sad (& his sisters!). I think it's a good idea to bring it up to his sister, hopefully she'll be able to talk about it with you openly. I'm guessing she wanted to just be ready w/ her passport & tickets and thought she'd probably be able to make it. She must be so disappointed too. Are you having a reception when you get back? If you aren't, could you have a bbq or something that those close to you who couldn't make it to Mexico could come to?

It's beautiful and flowy, classic but kinda hip with that subtle stripe pattern. I hope you love it too I'm so excited to hear that!! I've been into bcbg stores (well the outlets) but never saw it. I love the stripey chiffon. It's supposed to be delivered today. I love it online and really hope I love it in person! I think there was a little confusion, sspiris -- it's NYCbridetobe who posted the pics of her gorgeous dress & veil, so the veil isn't mine Sorry if I hijacked a bit!!
  15. Great job! You have everything your guests could want & I'm so impressed you were able to keep it to $10 each!
  16. My vote's for #2 (valentine) but this is a really hard choice b/c they're both beautiful & either would look great w/ your gorgeous dress! Have you tried them on? Is one more comfy than the other?
  17. I like it w/o the privacy panel too. Personally I think it's perfect as is, but if you really want the blue strings it's your day & you should go for it. If you're not sure, you could add some color with maybe a blue hair accessory or blue shoes Bebe Clip by sweetgrassmill on Etsy[]=tags&includes[]=title SOMETHING BLUE FOR YOU Hair Fascinator by divabridalcouture on Etsy[]=tags&includes[]=title Not sure if the pics will come up so here are links too http://www.endless.com/dp/B000VYPOAQ...SIN=B000VYPOAQ http://www.shoebuy.com/beston-comedy...-_-none-_-none
  18. I actually don't think it needs the sash either, because of the back. Very pretty!
