  1. K, where are you going? I had some funny experiences here in NYC so if you need a laugh let me know. You're probably out now and I hope you have a fab time! Keep us updated! K~

Thanks again for helping me find it!!! I know you haven't tried it on yet, but do you think the the 12 would be way too small or just a little? A lot of dresses have some extra fabric at the seams & maybe it could be let out a little? If you go try it on, look at the inside of the dress or ask a salesperson. Just a thought. I say def go for it - it's worth the 1/2 hr trip to see if this is your dream dress!! And the store may be able to find it in another store or even state for you.
  3. Hiya girls! It's been a busy few days over here. We booked our photographer (the wonderful & ridiculously talented Fer Juaristi), ordered invitations (from passionpaper.com) and tonight we ordered our wedding bands! so excited & had to share! here's FI's: & mine (having it designed w/ diamonds all the way around tho: Also ordered hair flowers from etsy, but that's not quite as exciting as the rest
  4. Congrats on getting through round 1 Holly!! How great! Good luck!!

  6. Hi again, here are some pics I took in May of '07. I swear I wasn't stalking weddings, the gazebo was in front of our room. Hope they help you girls! gazebo a wedding cocktail/reception set-up off to the right chapel inside beach set-up
  7. Seriously?!? I was imagining something plain & borderline ugly by the way you described it. Ha! It's stunning! I love the neckline & brooch at the front hip. It is gorgeous & don't you change a thing!! Adding jewelry is all you need!
  8. Hi. I know this isn't it, but it looks similar to this Maggie RD 1044 RD1044 - by Maggie Sottero *Christina that's it!! Good job!

I'm also chicken & didn't think I had the guts to do a BD shoot, but after thinking about how much he'd like it I decided to just go for it. He found out about the idea of them on this forum while I was looking around and he loved the thought of it. I keep telling him there's no way - it's too expensive & I'm too much of a prude, but I'm definitely doing it over Xmas break with my bridesmaids back home as part of my bachelorette party. hee hee! Can't wait to see his reaction when I give the book to him!

Ha! I know what you mean about obsessing over which hotel to go with! That was the hardest part of this whole planning experience! Anyway, it's great you were able to do a site visit (or did I misunderstand?) - that has to help A LOT! We're flying blindly here. I visited Puerto Vallarta a long time ago, but we haven't been to our resort. I know I love that city for its beauty & culture and we're just going off others' reviews here and Trip Advisor and having faith that it'll be great. fingers crossed we'll love it.

  12. we're actually having 3 different colors of dresses for the BM's, but one is a light aqua/pool. These are the flowers ideas I've come up w/ so far (the bouquet top left is from a bride here in the 'show us your bouquets' thread) and this is my inspiration board so you can see the colors we're going for
  13. Hi girls. While we're not getting married in the DR, we did go to Majestic Colonial on vacation a couple years ago and it was beautiful! We absolutely loved it, so much so that we got their wedding package info while we were there! They have a gazebo ceremony area in the middle of the property as well as a small chapel and a pretty beach set-up. We saw a couple of weddings while we were there (and a proposal on the beach) and they looked lovely. And from the info I had it seemed like a really good value. This isn't really wedding-related, but the food was great overall with lots of options & the service was absolutely fantastic! I ended up getting really sick and FI went to the onsite doctor's office & pharmacy, who were extremely helpful, & got me meds. Also, when I couldn't leave the room to eat FI was able to go to the buffet & bring back soup & stuff even though they don't usually allow that. And it's got probably the best pool I've ever been to! It's ginormous w/ tons of palapas & chairs and you never feel cramped. I have some pics of the ceremony locations I could post if those of you who haven't been there would like to see. Just let me know. Punta Cana is a beautiful location so I'm sure you can't go wrong either way. Good luck deciding!!
  14. What an amazing story - 12 years in the making!!! I read it all & am so super excited for you two! I hope everything goes fabulously during her visit & on your upcoming trips. Wish you both all the best as you continue to get to know & love each other!

I have to say it'd be pretty damn fun to compare notes! So, this is what we bought. Got a zipcar & went over to Men's Wearhouse in Paramus on Sat. I called 3 area stores & the one on Rt17 was the only one that still carried it cuz it's on sale. It's on their website, but he wanted to try it on cuz he didn't know if he wanted a linen suit or just pants & a shirt. Still not sure about what type of shirt yet, but rest assured it won't be salmon. Have you been to the Majestic Elegance or Punta Cana before? We went a couple summers ago to the Majestic Colonial in PC and loved it! The DR is so beautiful!
  16. Here are ours (couldn't find a good pic online of the yellow). The girls tried on a bunch but all agreed they felt the best in this.
  17. Adorable dresses! I love Marshalls for that very reason!! You just never know what great stuff you'll find! I love the colors of the dresses - all 6 girls together will look like beautiful waves on the beach.
  18. I knew I saw that suit somewhere on here! Oooh, light blue will look so beachy & fun!

  20. FI is wearing a tan linen suit (on sale at Mens Wearhouse!). Not sure about a shirt yet, but it'll be white. I just found this place that will do custom embroidery on guayabera shirts, which is perfect because we have 3 BMs each wearing a different colored dress (pale green, blue & yellow). So we'll have the guys wear tan linen pants & white guayaberas with blue, green or yellow embroidery down the front. We actually ordered one yesterday for FI as a test run to make sure we like the quality, but it'll take like a month to get here. Here's the link Guayabera shirts, Mexican Wedding Shirts, Beach Wedding Attire, Beach Wedding Dress, Wedding Jewelry, Wedding Shirts here's a pic and a pic of the BM dress
  21. Hey NYC girls! I'm way up on Manhattan in Wash. Heights, right by the GW. We're getting married at Dreams in PV. Just ordered our invitations and a suit for the FI. yay!! karenk - i never meet anyone else w/ our name & here we are, 2 on the same thread! how fun!
  22. So, we just went to Men's Wearhouse & bought this Calvin Klein linen suit! It looks great on & it'll be perfecto for our beach wedding! Plus it was on sale!! yeah! also got this shirt, but not sure if it'll be for the wedding or not close up (has a stripe & subtle floral pattern)
  23. Love #2! But, most importantly, which dress did you feel the best in? Was there one that stood out to you?
