  1. He's 6'1" and I'm 5'7". Both going barefoot for the ceremony and I have no clue what shoes I want for the reception. I seriously can't make a decision on this one.
  2. Jennifer - we're date twins! We're getting married in Mexico though (Dreams Puerto Vallarta). We just got our invitations so I'm working on getting those out this week - makes it even more real! So excited!!
  3. Great choice Melissa, though I also loved the pic of you in dress 2! I think you'll look beautiful! That dress is gorgeous! hooray for picking your dress!
  4. Melissa, I think it looks so great!! I would totally do that look for the wedding. Really beautiful! Maybe start wearing some make up so you get used to it & feel like you look more like yourself on the big day. It's just your natural beauty enhanced! I went to Sephora to get a smokey eye makeover the other day & the make up artist said not to worry about it looking like too much. She said to keep in mind that deeper rich colors really won't look over done in photos b/c you want your eyes to pop & with the flash (& even in natural light) a deeper smokey eye will look better.
  5. OK, so I got my red Luichiny Duchess sandals yesterday and they are NOT comfortable, which sucks cuz I love the bow & they are really pretty. The strap across the toes has rough edges that rub/scrape your toes and I can't imagine trying to dance in them for any length of time. I'd probably last an hour. ugh. They're also too high for me to wear for the wedding. They seem higher than 3.5 inches but maybe that's just b/c the heel is so skinny. back to the proverbial drawing board... Sandra, which RSVP shoes did you order? I've been eyeing the rhea, but if those are the culprit I'll be steering clear. rsvp Rhea at Zappos.com
  6. Congratulations!! Hope you've having a wonderful time!
  7. Autumn, great job! It turned out so cute, bedazzledness and all, and I love the unique personal touch it adds!
  8. those pics are gorgeous! Your FI is gonna love it - gotta catch that reaction on camera!
  9. super easy to do & really smart! thanks for the tip!
  10. love love love this show! One our very favs! It's funny b/c FI is from Scranton & when people find out that's immediately what they go to. ha! It's funny to see what gets referenced.
  11. Sorry, I won't be much help cuz we've only used paypal for paying our photog in Mexico, but it's been super easy & we haven't had any probs. I'd say it's probably fine as long as you know your vendor is reputable. Found this link, maybe it'll help International Wire Transfer Service - The Easiest Way to Send Money good luck!
  12. that is a good site! I like the one w/ the beading. Natural, do you sew at all? Or know anyone who does? It wouldn't be hard if you do and even if you don't you could use hemming tape (like double-sided fabric tape) to fold raw edges over. You'd need to know the diameter or width/length of the tables & buy fabric to go across them, but if you have the measurements I'm sure you could find help at any fabric store. good luck on your diy!

Still waiting on them to get here so I don't know how they fit but they were only $22 so if I don't like them w/ my dress maybe I'll just wear them for the BD shoot.

Both of these types of foundations have reflective properties which will make your face look shiny in photos. Yes, it looks gorgeous in real life, but it does NOT usually translate well to photos. I just thought I'd throw that out there. Thanks for the tips! Did the make up artist say what's in her bag or what she likes to use?
  15. Hey girls, I just got an email back from Rebeca confirming what everyone's saying about photographers & day-passes: me: We've hired Fer Juaristi out of Monterrey as our photographer and I was wondering if we need to pay for a day pass for him to come photograph our wedding at Dreams. [Rebeca] no, just let me know the time he will be coming and if you want to pay for his dinner. me: Also, we'd like to make sure he has something to eat for dinner so would we just pay for an extra plate of the dinner menu we pick? What's your experience with this? And is there a separate table for vendors to eat at or should we plan a spot for Fer and the DJ? [Rebeca] if you want to pay for their dinner, you can do it and we will set a separate table for them. I also asked about a couple things on the menu: me: Also about the menu, what type of fish is the "fillet of fish provencal with mango sauce"? and what is the crab & citrus salad like? [Rebeca] it is mahi mahi, the salad is a mix of crab meet with some citrus juice and mayonaisse dressed with the mango vinaigrette, fresh and delicious.
  16. Sure thing! I LOVE looking for shoes! spend way too much time doing it too cuz I just can't decide what I want. pink? blue? high heels or flat? ugh. this is way harder than the dress.
  17. all right I just went to Sephora & spent waaaaay too much $ on make-up. I got the smashbox photo finish light primer & a cover stick, make up forever HD foundation, their HD microfinish powder and some brushes. ouch. I've never spent this much on make-up. The price of beauty I guess. While there I had a smokey eye makeover/tutorial with the smashbox kit for brown eyes and it turned out really nice. I have blue eyes but didn't like the colors in the blue-eye kit so she used the brown and they're really nice colors that would look good on any eye color. They ran out of the kit in the store so now I have to get it online. I'll try out the primer & foundation, etc and report back... Not sure about the best waterproof mascara, but I found this list if anyone's interested Best Waterproof Mascara
  18. ooh, thanks!! I'm on my way to check them out! quick question - did you get them yet? And do they run true to size?
